======================================================
Hello, Fwends! Welcome back!
No big announcements this week!
If you are a fan of Percy Jackson, go to my profile and check out the cross-over I'm writing of PJ/Naruto! It's only two chapters so far, but it will be my main squeeze once Kenta's story is finally over!
Having said that, ENJOY!
I stared at the beautiful woman across from me, mind blank. It took a few minutes for everything to reboot before snapping myself out of the trance I had been placed in.
"Huh?" I asked like the genius I was.
She giggled cutely. "I said, we need to talk. Come, come. We don't have much time." She held out a perfectly manicured hand expectantly, which I grabbed without hesitation. Her hand felt warm and everything still felt so familiar.
We started to walk down the familiar roads that I had grown up on. The silence stretched for a few minutes. Mystery girl seemed content to wait for me to talk first. She was looking around with wide-eyes, taking in the sights.
"Is this your first time in Konoha?" I asked, attempting to fill in the awkward silence.
"Yes and No," was her vague reply.
"I see. Who are you? Also, what did you call me before?"
"David. That's your name. Well, the name I know you by." She smiled up at me. I noticed she was the exact same height as my Fú.
"My name is Kenta. I think you have me confused with someone else." I said with a frown, the name tickling a memory in the back of my mind.
She shook her head. "You may be Kenta in this world, but you'll always be David to me. Your face is different, but your soul is unmistakable."
"Ooooookay. Whatever you say, crazy." I mumbled out.
Mystery Girl giggled. "This village is exactly as I pictured it, and yet so much different than what I imagined. I'm kind of jealous of you, David."
"Stop calling me that." I snapped, a headache starting to form.
She frowned and placed a warm hand on my forehead. "It's worse than I thought." She mumbled out.
"You never answered my first question. Who are you." I asked once again, gently removing the hand that had just sent fire coursing through my veins at her touch. Only one woman had had such an effect on me up until this point.
"You know that answer already, you just need to remember." She said quietly. "You have to remember."
"What are you talking about? I have never met you before!" I hissed in annoyance.
"Ew, David. Don't be grumpy." She smiled seeing my eyes widen.
"Ew, David."
"Becca…" I whispered out, the memory, dream, flashing through my mind.
"Exactly!" She laughed in delight.
"I don't understand. That was just some dream I had. It doesn't explain who you are?"
She took both my hands in her own smaller ones tracing circles with her thumbs. "Oh, David. There is so much I wish I could tell you. So much I wish I could fix. I can't though, I can't."
"Well what can you tell me?" I asked her gently.
"I'll tell you what I can. That dream you had, it wasn't a dream. It was a memory; your memory specifically. Before you were known as Kenta Yamanaka, many people knew you as David McCray, myself included. You and I were engaged. We had just moved in together into an apartment in Seattle, Washington. You died saving my life on the night of September, 25th. My twenty-third birthday. You were twenty-six at the time." She explained, eyes swimming with unshed tears.
"So, you're telling me I was… reincarnated into my current life?" I asked.
She nodded.
I burst out laughing.
"Oh, man. That's a good one. You had me going for a second there. I imagine being a… what did Mom call you? A guide? Yeah, that. I imagine that it can be a pretty boring job. Is this how you entertain yourself?" I chuckled once more, wiping away a tear of mirth.
"I'm serious, David! Stop laughing!" She had stopped walking, placing her hands on her hips in the way that only a pissed-off woman can. She was glaring heatedly at me, eyes burning with indignation.
"If you expect me to believe that reincarnation is an actual thing, then I think you are the crazy one, Miss."
"It IS an actual thing! Sacrificing your life to save mine, God gave you a second chance! Is that so crazy a concept to wrap that pea-sized brain around?!"
"So, you're telling me, that as a reward for giving my life to save yours, I was reincarnated in the Elemental Nations? Instead of sending me to heaven to spend eternity in paradise, I was sent to a land unbridled by war, death, and bloodshed? If that's the case, your God kinda sucks." I shot back, my temper flaring.
"Well… it wasn't supposed to be like this!"
"Like what? How was it supposed to be different?"
"You were supposed to remember!"
"Remember what? My past life?"
"Everything!" She yelled. As soon as the words were out of her mouth she clamped her hands to her mouth.
"What do you mean, everything?" I asked, eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"Oh, David. There's so much you were supposed to know upon gaining consciousness in this world. You were supposed to know so you could fix everything; so this world could be at peace and you would be happy." Tears ran down her face as she met my eyes. "But something went wrong. Something went horribly wrong."
"I was supposed to know the future?" I asked dumbfounded.
She nodded. "Yes. You were supposed to know everything so you could prevent it."
"So why don't I?"
"You do. Think!"
So I did. I thought back to my earliest memories. It didn't take me long.
"The bouts of deja vu. The dreams. The visions." I rattled off.
She nodded again. "Yes, David. The knowledge is there. You just have to unlock it. You have to remember!"
"Why? I've been doing just fine so far."
"There's been too many ripples. The future you were supposed to know is completely obsolete. I don't even know how this story ends. None of this happened before. You being here, you've changed so much." she said in a voice barely above a whisper.
"So then why do I need to know?" I asked in confusion. I didn't even question how this unassuming girl would know how the future was supposed to go. Dead people seem to know everything yet nothing.
"David. Haven't you noticed yet? If you don't remember your past, you will die. Your visions, they're getting worse, aren't they?"
A memory of laying on the floor of the Hokage's office, emptying my stomach into his trash can sprung to the forefront of my mind. I nodded.
"Your old memories should have assimilated as soon as you were born into this world. They're still trying to assimilate, but they can't. It's straining your mind, David. If you don't find a way to remember, the strain will be too much." She explained, fear for me showing clearly in her eyes.
"Well how do I remember? Can't your God just… snap his fingers and make it happen?" I asked with a bit of a laugh, trying to ease some of her tension. I didn't know how much of her story I believed. The only thing I knew for certain was that I did know this girl. Somehow. It might just be the striking resemblance to Fú that made me desire to ease her anxiety.
"No." She said sadly. "His touch cannot reach you in this dimension. It took a lot of His power, as well as calling in a few favors simply for this projection of my consciousness to reach you here."
"Wait, you're not actually here? But your hand, it felt warm. You feel as solid as my family did!"
For once she looked unsure. That look sent chills crawling up my spine.
"I… No, I'm not actually here. I'm inhabiting the spiritual body of a denizen of this world." She explained vaguely.
"Whose body?" I asked instantly.
"It doesn't matter, what does matter is-" She gasped as I had instantly slammed her into the wall, a growl threatening to escape my throat.
"Whose. Body?" I hissed mere inches from her face.
"Please, David. You're hurting me." She whimpered out.
"I don't give a rat's ass. Whose body?!" I screamed.
"It… It's Fú's! I'm so sorry David!" She cried.
"GOD DAMNIT!" I bellowed, fist driving a foot deep into the concrete beside the head of the girl wearing my finances face. I should have known it was no mere coincidence!
"David, please listen to me. There isn't much time!"
"I don't care! Get me out of here! I'm going to tear that son of a bitch limb from limb. I'm going to show him what actual pain is!" I screamed as I felt my heart shattering all over again.
"She isn't dead yet, David!" Imposter cried out. My eyes instantly snapping to her own.
"What do you mean?" I asked desperately.
"She's in limbo, almost like you, but she's fading. Soon, she'll fully be gone. That's the only reason I was able to inhabit her body because she isn't fully here." She explained in a rush.
I nodded, pulling myself together, reining my emotions in. Time was vital, I couldn't afford a mistake.
"Get me out of here. I have to save her." I said in a more controlled tone.
She nodded. "I will. I just need to make sure you understand this before we go. David, you have to remember your past. Soon. I know that Fú is the only thing on your mind, and that makes me so happy you were able to find love in this world. But please, promise me, once you deal with Pein, you will work on unlocking those memories. Please, David." She asked with more desperation in her voice than even I had worrying about Fú.
I nodded slowly. "I promise, Becca." I raised a hand to her face, cupping it gently. "I'm sorry for lashing out at you. Lately my emotions have been all over the place."
"Whether in this life, or your last, you always cared more about others than yourself. It's the reason you're here. We're here, by the way." She said.
I glanced up at the building I had put a hole through. It was the academy.
"Why here?" I asked.
"It's the only place, other than your home, that has the most positive memories for you."
I crinkled my nose in distaste. "The Academy? I hated those six years. They were so boring."
"Yes, but this is where you met the most important people in your life. Even if at the time they weren't close to you."
I nodded at that. Naruto, Ami, Sasuke… everyone we graduated with had become a dear friend to me over time.
"David, one last thing before you go," Becca called out as I had started to briskly walk forward. I turned to face her for the last time, her face reminding me of why I was so intent on leaving.
"What? I'm in a hurry." I called.
She rushed forward and threw her arms around my neck. "Listen, this is going to get me in a lot of trouble, but I don't care. The world we knew is too different to know if the outcome will be the same. Pein… He has a technique. Force him to use it. It will bring them back."
"Bring back? Who? From where?" I asked in confusion.
"Everyone. From here." She said simply.
I stared at her in shock. "He can… He can revive them? All of them?"
She nodded. "All of them. Make him tell you what it is and force him to use it. The woman that is always with him, she is the key."
I hugged the girl back tightly once more. "Thank you. Thank you." I whispered.
I felt her nod into my shoulder. "Now go. I feel Fú getting weaker."
I quickly disengaged, and with a final wave threw open the academy doors and walked into the blinding light.

Itachi stared down at the insignificant form of the puppet body of the man who he would destroy soon. This… monster would draw its last breath on this day. Itachi would personally see to it.
"You are much stronger than I assumed, Itachi. It matters not. No one can stand up to the might of a God. Before me al-"
Like swatting a bug, Itachi's Susanoo had sent Deva flying with a single strike. Itachi stared impassively as Deva pulled itself from the wrecked of a building. Itachi noticed idly that it was a store owned by a member of the old council. It would be last on Itachi's list of things to rebuild.
"I see. Deva along will not be enough to defeat this new power. In that case, I will make sure to bring you as much pain as I can. We have met one of our objectives. The seven-tails is being extracted as we speak. It will not be much longer. The process is sped significantly when I personally see to the extraction." Nagato called out.
Itachi narrowed his eyes. Impossible. She was safe with the Uzumaki!
"My kin that has taken residence in your village truly live up to the Uzumaki legacy. Had it not been for Preta draining the chakra from their seals and the ones powering it, I would not have been able to reach the seven tails." Nagato explained, answering Itachi's question.
"If my shinobi haven't taken care of that one by now, I will make sure to deal with it personally before I come to take your eyes," Itachi called back coldly.
"I will eagerly await you, Lord Hokage," Nagato said. "If you survive, that is."
"What?" Itachi's eyes widened in alarm, feeling the massive spike in chakra. He quickly raised his shield, preparing for whatever final trick this path had.
"Heavenly Subjugation of the Omnipresent God!" Nagato bellowed.
Itachi's world exploded around him.

"Naruto! Please, you have to calm down!" Ami called, hugging her best friend in tears as Naruto was snarling like a rabid beast. "I know it hurts! I know! But if we lose our cool, he wins! Please, calm down!"
"You all should get out of here. Naruto isn't in control, he could hurt any one of us." Sakura explained to Tetsu and the other Owls. "Please, go."
Eurus and Zephyrus nodded. They grabbed ahold of the sobbing Tetsu and with a poof of smoke, vanished.
Sakura turned blazing emerald eyes on the snarling beast before her.
A sound like a branch snapping rung throughout the street. Naruto's wide, red eyes stared in shock at the small pink creature standing before him, hand poised ready to strike again.
"How dare you, Naruto Uzumaki! Do you think you're the only one hurting right now?! Kenta was all our friends! What that monster did to Kono is unforgivable! But do you see the rest of us breaking down, acting like children? Do you think Kenta would want this?! NO! He would want us to avenge the death of his beloved sister. Fú still needs to be protected! We still have a job to do! Stop acting like a child!" Sakura's breast heaved as she stared in fury at Naruto.
Red eyes slowly faded to their cerulean blue. Naruto looked down in sadness and shame.
"You're right, Sakura. Kenta would say only he's the only one allowed to have a meltdown." Naruto chuckled at his own joke. "Before I flashed here, I felt Fú's and my family's chakra still. I think we can still get to them. Just give me a moment to absorb more natural energy."
Naruto stared down at the body of his best friend one more time. A sense of overwhelming sadness and rage coursed through his veins once again, but Sakura's words echoed through his mind once more. He would mourn his family after he made this cruel person pay. Naruto sat down in the meditative state that Old Man Fukasaka taught him. Naruto sat as still as the stone he would turn to if he ever got the balance of chakras incorrect. Within moments, he began to feel the vibrant and volatile nature chakra flow through his veins. As easy as breathing had become, Naruto quickly began to assimilate the foreign chakra into his own reserves.
Naruto breathed out in contentment. This feeling of becoming one with nature is something he believed he would never grow tired of. The vitality and life and-
Naruto's eyes flew open, homing in on the small ball chakra that was barely noticeable. Naruto quickly scuttled onto hands and knees and crawled over to the lifeless body of his brother. He reached out with a shaky hand, hoping and praying that this wasn't a trick of the mind or wishful thinking.
The group of four teenagers that had been discussing their strategy for once they arrived at the Uzumaki compound jumped on hearing Naruto's cry of surprise.
"What is it, Naruto?" Ami asked, hurrying over to her friend. She knelt next to the boy who was staring wide-eyed and disbelieving at the brother she had just lost.
"It's Kenta," Naruto whispered.
"What about him, Naruto?" Sakura asked gently kneeling on the other side of Naruto.
"He… He's alive…"
****************************Kenta is aboot to go on a warpath!**************************
"Morning Peacock!" Twin voices cried out. Lee and Guy simultaneously kicked their opponent at super-sonic speed; launching them high into the air. In twin movements, both had instantly met their opponents at the apex of the launch. With inhuman speed, both men began to assault the two paths of Pain that had eluded them so far. In seconds, both corpse puppets crashed to the ground, broken and unmoving.
"YOSH! Take that, fiend! This is the punishment for such an un-youthful display; attacking the woman I love!" Lee cried out, standing over the body of Preta.
"LEE!" Guy screamed, not even noticing that he was casually walking over the mangled corpse of Asura. "That was a most YOUTHFUL display! Your mastery over the Eight Gates is nearing my own! Why you do not even seem winded after opening the sixth gate! Your hard work is igniting my very own flames!"
"Master Guy! While I am excited to share this youthful moment with you, we must see to the Uzumaki and Akimichi that were set to guard Lady Fú!"
"Youth and maturity! You bring the greatest joy to my heart, my pupil! Let us make haste!" Guy attempted to run towards the Uzumaki compound, but quickly faltered, the strain on his body too great.
"I will carry you, Master Guy! Let us make haste!" Lee announced, leaning down to allow Guy to climb upon his back.
"You make me proud, Lee. One day soon, the Green Beast will be surpassed by the Blue Beast. I cannot wait for that day." Guy said from Lee's back, voice breaking with emotion.
"Thank you, Master Guy. It is only possible because you believed in me since the day we met. The only way I can show my gratitude is to one day surpass you."
Lee and Guy arrived at their destination moments later. Lee carefully let Guy down, looking around at the burnt wreckage of his girlfriend's compound. A sense of unease soon began to creep up Lee's spine, but he pushed it down. Worrying about what you know nothing about is most un-youthful.
"Honoka! Tayuya! Karin! Lord Akimichi! Is anyone there?" Lee called out.
"Here, Lee." A voice said to Lee's right. Lee gasped in shock on seeing the state his beautiful woman was in. She was covered from head to toe in bruises and cuts. There was a large gash in her side that she was holding gingerly. However, she was alive. Lee would not dwell on the negatives.
"Honoka! You are hurt! We must get you to a medic. I believe Lady Sakura is highly trained!" Lee said gently, helping Honoka to sit on the ground.
"No need," Honoka said. She withdrew a tag from her pouch and applied it directly to the wound. Seconds later, the tag glowed a warm green color and Honoka let out an appreciative sigh. Lee watched in wonder as the gaping wound that was marring Honoka's skin began to rapidly close. Within minutes, not even a scar remained.
"Here, Mister Guy. Apply this to your stomach and activate it. My little cousin Karin, this is her latest creation. It's got her potent healing chakra stored inside. I know that using the gates puts a great strain on your body." Honoka said as she handed a seal to Guy.
"Why didn't you use this before?" Lee asked gently.
"I didn't want to risk using chakra and having those monsters find me. Lee, I managed to seal the others in a barrier before I confronted those two. Had it just been the one who blew up our house, I could have taken him. That fat fuck kept absorbing my chains though." Honoka growled out, fishing in her bag.
"Language, Honoka." Lee chastised lightly. "I am so sorry, Honoka. Guy and I were supposed to take out Preta, but we could not locate him. This is my fault. I do not expect you to forgive me." Lee bowed his head low in shame.
"Stop that. You and Guy aren't perfect. This man is the leader of the most dangerous criminal organization in the world. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine. I overestimated my abilities and underestimated his. Because of that… Oh…" Honoka began to cry softly. Lee quickly gathered her into his arms. "Because of my failure they t-took F-Fú." Honoka cried even harder. "The fat one… He grabbed F-Fú and absorbed nearly all her chakra. A woman with p-paper w-wings swooped down and grabbed her. They took her, Lee! Fú is going to have Chomei extracted from her! It's all my fault!" Honoka began to sob harder than before.
"We won't let that happen. Kenta won't let that happen. It took them days to extract the One-Tail from Lord Kazekage. Lady Fú has only been gone a few hours at most. We will save her." Lee said gently, rocking Honoka back and forth.
Honoka instantly turned the waterworks off, scrubbing her eyes furiously. "You're right, Lee! Thank you for reminding me. It's been a trying day. We need to see to the injured, we will then regroup and await word from Lord Hyuga and Lord Inuzuka on the location of our enemy."
"Lady Honoka, that tag was wonderful! I feel even better than I did before opening the gates!" Guy called out from a distance.
"You will have to thank my cousin, Karin. This is her invention. I only helped tweak the final design." Honoka called back, pride in her voice.
"Now, I must ask. What happened here? How did they penetrate your defenses?" Guy asked, voice deadly serious.
"The tall one… He destroyed the compound. He knew where we were hiding Fú, somehow. The sealing room was completely safe though. He couldn't put a dent in it. However, once the other one showed up, he began to rapidly absorb the chakra from the seals, which were connected to those powering it. Even with their massive reserves, the Akimichi couldn't produce chakra with their food fast enough. One by one the Akimichi began to pass out from chakra exhaustion. Tayuya, Karin, and I attempted to keep it going, but there seemed to be no limit to what he could absorb. Finally, we decided to attempt to fight them. The rest you know." Honoka explained.
"Then it sounds to me as if you all did everything you absolutely could have done. You have nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to regret. Once we rescue Lady Fú, she will put your mind at ease that she does not blame you or anyone else." Guy said in a kind voice.
Honoka nodded. "Let's go see to the injured. This way."
*************************************MORNING PEACOCK IS OP***************************************
"Naruto! Now is not the time for your jokes! That is just cruel! Did you hit your head? What is wrong with you?" I heard a feminine voice screech in outrage.
"I'm serious, Sakura! He's alive! Check his pulse! I don't know how! He wasn't when I got here, but I can feel his chakra, ya know!" Naruto shouted back, right in my ear.
Not. Happy.
"If you two don't stop screeching in my ear, I will make sure you spend the rest of your days as drooling vegetables," I growled out, coughing a bit.
"KENTA!" What sounded like the entire village screamed at once.
I groggily opened my eyes, blinking around, trying to get my bearings. Everything that had happened began to replay in my mind. I sneered up at the tear-filled faces looking down on me.
I hated tears.
"What are you all looking at. You look like you've seen a ghost." I said nonchalantly.
"How?" Ami whispered out, grabbing and pinching my cheeks really hard. "How DARE you, Kenta Yamanaka! You play possum. Worry me! RUIN MY MAKEUP!" Ami threw herself on top of me, crying for all she was worth. "I thought I lost you." She whispered.
I squeezed her back as tight as I could. "Sorry to ruin your makeup, dearest." I laughed.
"Too stubborn to even die properly it seems." I heard a snarky voice say.
"Fuck off, Uchiha. Not in the mood."
I gently pried Ami off me, smiling in reassurance. I knelt, gently scooping up the head of my beloved baby sister. I mentally promised her I would bring her back, no matter the cost. I withdrew a simple storage scroll, sealing the reminder away.
I stood up and took in who else was here. I held out my arms and Sakura quickly took Ami's place, her tears adding to the moisture soaking my shirt. I noticed Shino standing off to the side. I nodded to him in acknowledgment and received the same in return. His chakra hummed with surprise and happiness.
After a few moments, Sakura pulled herself off me, wiping her eyes and laughing with relieved happiness. I felt a pair of eyes on me. I turned and had no time to react to the blonde blur that had crashed into me.
"He killed Kono. Why? Why would he do that?" Naruto sobbed gently. I embraced my brother, white-hot fire coursing through my veins. I had a plan, but I couldn't tell it to anyone. I would have to play along for now.
"Simply to hurt us. To cause us pain. We will make him pay. We're going to show him what real pain is." I growled out. I felt Naruto nod against my shoulder. He stepped back, eyes blazing with fury. That's when I noticed the unique shape of the pupil and color. "Sage mode? That's what your training was!? You lucky son of a bitch!"
Naruto chuckled wetly, wiping his nose. "Yeah, I know. I'm a badass, ya?"
"Still not stronger than me." I snarked back.
"Kenta. Not that I'm not happy to see you, but seriously. How?" Ami asked interrupting Naruto and me.
"Apparently all my training with the soul techniques let my subconscious keep my soul anchored when he tried to pull it from my body. Where is that bastard anyway?" I asked, glancing around.
"Dead. I killed him." Sasuke said.
"How'd you do it? I hope it was painful."
Sasuke didn't answer. Instead, I watched in shock as his Sharingan activated, and morphed into its second stage.
"When did you get that? Naruto with his Sage Mode. Now you have a Mangekyou… Overnight I went from strongest to… not strongest! Not fair!" I whined. "When did you get that, anyway? Been keeping secrets from me, Lover?"
Sasuke didn't answer. He deactivated his eyes and turned away. I frowned, wondering what that was about. I wouldn't press him though. He'd tell me when he was ready.
"Ok, we can save the feelings and stuff for later. He has Fú. She's fading, fast. Much faster than Gaara. I'm going to go rescue her. Naruto, you're coming with me." I announced.
"How do you know that? You know what, never mind. If that's true, then the Uzumaki will need assistance." Sakura said.
I nodded. "You four will go back them up. Guy and Lee are already over there." I relayed as I spread my senses to their max.
My four friends nodded. I turned to Naruto. "Let's- Shit! We need cover, NOW! Sakura, Ami, strongest Earth wall you can conjure. MOVE!"
Both girls looked shocked for only a few seconds before their hands began flying through seals, Shino joining them.
"Earth Release: Earth Style Wall of Ten Thousand Ri!" The three voices cried out. A stream of mud flew from each of their mouths, quickly taking shaping into a tall and thick wall.
"Cut the technique and duck down! Brace for impact!" I shouted, grabbing Naruto and pulling him down. Not a second passed from us ducking did a massive wave of force slam into the hastily erected wall. Debris crashed into the wall, flying overhead and around us. As soon as it began it ended. I stood up, feeling my blood boil once again.
Gone.
Konoha was gone.
"Go. Check on the others. Naruto and I have a monster to hunt down." I growled out.
My four friends simply nodded. Knowing that trying to dissuade me when I'm in this mood was futile. They quickly took off in the direction that the Uzumaki compound once stood.
"How are we going to find him?" Naruto asked once everyone was gone.
"I know exactly where he is," I said, the vision popping into my head with a jolt of pain that I hid from Naruto. Becca might be correct. Just that one vision had sent waves of vertigo and nausea rippling through my body. I shook it off, taking off in the direction I knew that Nagato was hiding.
*****************************************Warpath is coming***********************************************
Itachi lowered his shield, eyes sweeping the aftermath. He frowned, wondering what game Nagato was trying to play. Did he think destroying the infrastructure of his village would emotionally hurt him? His people were either dead or evacuated. The only ones remaining were too strong to get taken out by such an attack. Itachi hoped at least.
"This is the power I wield without the ten-tails. Imagine what I can do once I am its Jinchuriki." Nagato called out, looking around and reveling in the destruction.
Ah, ego-stroking.
Itachi struck, knowing that the waiting period would be much longer than the normal five seconds after such a large attack. Susanoo's hand quickly closed around the surprised form of Deva. Itachi brought the struggling figure up to eye level with him.
"An impressive display of power. It's a shame you won't live long enough to see your mad plan through until the end. I'm coming for you, Nagato Uzumaki. I will pluck those eyes from your dead skull. Enjoy your final day alive." And with barely a thought, Susanno squeezed, snapping Deva like a twig. Itachi callously threw the corpse to the side, not even watching as it bounced along the dirt below.
Itachi cut the chakra to his eyes, falling to the ground below. He would first check on his people that still remained. He still needed for Neji and Kiba to learn of his location. Once they reported to him, Nagato would be his.
*************************************************AK********************************************************
Naruto and I stood outside the clearly fake tree. Neji and Kiba had arrived shortly before we did.
"Lord Fifth has been informed and his on his way. You two should wait here for his orders." Neji stated.
"We're going to kill this son of a bitch. Tell Lord Fifth if he wants any of the action he better hurry." I said in a low voice, pushing past the two.
Neji began whispering frantically to himself, the seal on his ear connected directly to Lord Fifth.
"Lord Fifth orders you to stand down! You are not to engage you ar-" Neji fell to the ground, out cold, Kiba joining him soon after.
"Oi! Kenta! What the hell! You can't attack our comrades!" Naruto yelled.
"It's a sedative. They're just sleeping. Come." I said.
"Oh, well that's okay then, I guess. But Lord Fifth said to stay!"
"Lord Fifth didn't have his sister's head cut off, did he?" I asked, glancing at Naruto. I instantly felt his chakra go cold.
"No." Naruto stepped forward; the uncertainty gone.
I ripped open the paper tree and stepped inside, Naruto on my heels. Instantly a petite woman stepped forward, her eyes boring into mine.
I took a cursory glance around, eyes landing on the form of my fiancé. My heart shattered as I noticed her chest not rising or falling.
She was dead.
I was too late.
I would make it right.
Nagato opened his mouth, but I wasn't here to talk. I had a plan, and I wasn't going to miss my opening. With a flick of my wrist, three senbon launched forward at incredible speeds. Two silver needles and a matte black one.
One senbon struck Nagato in the chest before he could react. The other two pierced the woman in the thigh as she tried to dodge. She quickly ripped the needles out and continued her charge, falling to her face after three steps.
"What… did you do to me?" She asked.
"For both of you, my strongest paralytic. It is fast-acting but only lasts about thirty minutes. After my last victim, I realized that I couldn't have my paralytic last too long." I said staring coldly. "For you, my dear, the most painful death in human existence. You will die, slowly and in agony over three days. Nagato here will watch." I turned my cold stare on him, morphing into a sadistic grin. My basilisk venom was even more potent than when Raiga met his fate.
"Do you think that hurting Konan will somehow affect me? What are you trying to accomplish?" Nagato called out.
I turned my gaze back on him. "Oh, no. You misunderstand. I simply want to watch her die. As for what I'm trying to accomplish? I'll get that information on my own, I don't even need you."
I vanished, appearing right on top of Nagato. My crazed smile fixed directly on his face. "This is going to hurt both of us. More you than me, though. I hope your mind can handle it." And I placed both my hands on his head.
"Kenta, what are you doing?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Getting information before we kill him," I said, concentrating.
"Yamanaka Clan Technique: Forceful Mind Walk!" I whispered. I gasped as memory after memory rushed into my consciousness. Doing the 'Mind Walk' in this manner placed such a strain on the brain of both the user and the victim that it was a last resort technique. I didn't have the time nor patience though to do this properly. Mom, Kono, Fú, everyone was waiting for me.
I continued my search for what felt like hours. I felt the blood begin to leak from both my nose and my ears, my brain feeling as though it were about to explode. Still, I kept searching.
Finally. There it was. As well as some very interesting memories that I'm sure Nagato would love to see! I pulled my hands away, gasping. I stumbled off the emaciated man, wiping the blood from my nose. I glanced his way, watching him take gasping breaths. Good. His mind didn't break.
"So, the Outer Path. Any chance I can just ask you nicely to perform that technique?" I called out.
"You… Damn parasite. How, are you still alive?!" Nagato bellowed, losing control for the first time.
"I told you the last time we met. I'm Kenta Fucking Yamanaka. The mind and soul are MY domain."
"Using the Outer Path would cost my life. I will not give up my life before I bring peace to this world." Nagato said, composing himself once more.
"You aren't going to have much of a choice," I growled out, gathering my chakra and mentally preparing myself for the sin I was about to commit.
"I know that using your clan techniques you can overtake the body of another. I also know that whatever damage my body suffers, yours will as well. Are you willing to give your life for theirs?"
"I would give my life one-hundred times to bring back my loved ones!" I yelled out. "However, I won't have to. The only one dying today is you."
"Kenta, what is going on?" Naruto asked in confusion. "Why am I here? You seem to have a plan."
I turned towards Naruto. "Sorry, Naruto. I do need you. You'll understand soon."
Naruto scratched his head in confusion but nodded slowly.
I held up my hands, pointing them directly at Nagato.
"You have cheated death once already, boy. You would gamble again?" Nagato asked.
I closed my eyes, praying that I would be forgiven one day. "No, I won't." I turned on my heel sharply, hands pointed directly at Naruto. "I'm so sorry, Naruto. Forgive me."
"Kenta, what are you doing?!" Naruto asked, backing up quickly. Not quick enough.
"Yamanaka Clan Technique: Mind-Body Transfer," I whispered feeling my consciousness leave my body.
I opened my eyes, watching as my body crumpled to the floor. Years of practice meant that from this range, the transfer was near-instantaneous.
I heard a dry chuckle. It sounded like dead leaves crumpling underneath a boot. "What game are you playing, boy? Are you attempting to lower my guard?"
"Tell me, Nagato Uzumaki. What do you know of the power of the Uzumaki Royal Line?"
