The blackness that had swallowed the world slowly started to fade. I could feel a weight gently pressing in my abdomen. I willed my eyes to open I was back on the bed. I looked down and saw Drago's head resting on my stomach. What happened? I groaned as I tried to sit up. It seemed that my attempt to move woke Drago. He shot up as if ready to attack someone. He calmed as he noticed I was awake relief overtook his gentle face. He gently took my hands "Bunny?" he whispered almost like he was surprised to see me awake. I smiled "Yeah?" I asked slightly confused. He then pulled me into a strong protective hug. Why was he so upset? Drago pulled away and cupped my face "Are you okay? Are you hungry?" he asked. I cocked my head like a confused puppy "Why?" I asked him. He looked like he had just realized something "Ali you've been out of it for almost a week. After that phone call, you just dropped. The Doctor couldn't figure it out but said it was probably a self-defense mechanism your body chose. I was so worried you wouldn't come back to me." he whimpered. My heart broke and I pulled him into a hug "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone." I apologized.
I'm not sure how long we sat there till we finally pulled apart. Drago helped me get out of bed. My body was weak from sleeping for so long. We made it to the dining room. Siggy rushed over to me once she noticed I had also entered. She gave me one of her motherly hugs "I'm sorry mom I didn't mean to worry everyone." I said guilt filling me for making the ones who love me worry. Drago helped me take a seat and gave me a small portion of food. I looked at him confused he usually pilled up my plate "You haven't eaten solid food in a while I don't want you to get sick." he informed me. I nodded and began taking small bites of my food. I stopped when my stomach started to feel full. Drago's phone went off and he looked at it with a frown. He got up and left the table answering the phone. I could hear the anger in his voice and I could only assume he was cursing as Siggy called out for him to watch his language. I looked at her for some clarification. She gave me a caring smile "My son tends to give in to his Romanian roots when he's upset. He gets that from his father." she joked.
I couldn't help but smile, I loved learning these things about him. I got up and went out to check on him. He was leaning on the wall gripping his phone tightly. I walked over to him and gently placed my hand on his arm. It was like all the tension melted away. He looked at me with love-filled eyes "The gang keeps bugging me to go hang out, and wanting you to come over again... I didn't tell them anything. Ali, it's so hard lying to our friends." he admitted. I hadn't realized how hurt he was to lie to his childhood friends. I bit my lip "How about I get changed and we go visit them for a little?" I suggest. His face illuminated like that of a child "Really? You're not pushing yourself right?" he asked concerned. I shook my head "I wanna see our friends too, I need to feel normal again." I assured him. He had a grateful smile as he leaned down and kissed my forehead.
I made my way over to Drago's room so that I could change. As I was changing I felt a little lightheaded so I sat down. I waited a couple of minutes then finished getting dressed. I took a deep breath then left the room and headed to the living room where Drago was waiting. He ruffled Bryson's hair as he got up "See you later buddy." he told him before walking over to me. He gently took my hand and we headed outside to his bike. He helped me get on "Where are we meeting everyone?" I asked curiously. He smiled "Over to Piper's place." he informed me before starting the motorcycle. I wrapped my arms around his waist and held on tightly as we drove. I had this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach, but I couldn't quite place it. I decided to shrug it off as we soon came to a stop in front of Piper's place. We got off the bike and when inside. Drago stayed close to me keeping me calm. I was glad to see all of our friends as we walked in. The girls hugged me which I returned, but when Finn came to hug me I stepped back. I felt Drago's firm body pressed against my back and I felt safer "Sorry just a little jumpy lately." I told them with a smile. They all nodded except for Beau he had his eyebrow raised as if he had something to ask. I was thankful that he chose not to.
I sat down on the couch and started catching up with everyone. Beau walked over to Drago and motioned for them to go talk privately. Once Drago left I had a hard time keeping a smile on my face. I guess Finn noticed and being the playful guy that he is wanted to make me smile again. He playfully jumped onto me pinning me under him on the couch to tickle me, the flashbacks started and before I could stop myself a chilling scream escaped from my lungs. Next thing I knew the girls were gasping as Finn was violently pinned to the wall by his neck.
