LIKE FATHER LIKE SON

She was lying on the wooden beach bench which was under a blue umbrella. Her face was hidden with oversized sunglasses. She was reading some lady magazine. It took her a while to notice that I was standing in front of her.

" My son," she cried out. She took off the sunglasses and stood up from the bench. Now I know why I have chestnut brown hair. I must have inherited it from her.

She stepped forward and placed her hand on my face. "When I last saw you, you were just a little baby. I was able to carry you in my arms. Now you are so grown up!"

This is getting embarrassing now. " I came here for answers," I announced plainly.

She got a little hurt by my attitude. " What do you want to know, my son?"

" Did you kill my father or not?"

Her brown eyes got teary. " I loved your father. Why would I kill him?"
