UNDER THE APPLE TREE

Hannah's POV:

His cabin was full of books. It felt like I was walking into a library. The pleasant fragrance of the books was soothing my mind. He motioned me to sit down on the chair.

" I'm not going to lie," he said. " I loathe Americans."

I don't understand why he is being so racist right now. But I didn't dare to confront him about it.

" It is so unfortunate that my grandson got you pregnant. He left me with no choice. You both have to get married for the sake of the child."

" Okay," I replied. " It was a pleasure talking to you." I got up from my chair and was about to leave.

" Sit down! I am not done yet," he declared.

What the hell is wrong with him?

" I have got several complaints from the maid about you. One maid said that you got drunk and abused her."
