chapter 2. rather pleasant awakening

opening his eyes to the bright lights and smells of a new world jason was left pondering what lead him here and what a guiding voice was now he wishes he watched isekai anime more

but for a moment let's step back and leave akon to his thoughts while we discuss the finer points of why he was summoned.

1. there is a limited amount of dragons and when their populations dwindles low enough certain gods take notice and will take action resulting in what happened to jason

2. when there aren't enough dragons chaos breaks out not because of a prophecy but because dragons serve as pest control

3. the only reason jason was reborn as a dragon was that was the only available slot

4. there is a prophecy ironically enough about a summoned hero but with over 758 summoned heroes we can't really be sure who it is

anyways I've been rambling far too long and if I keep going I'll miss my favorite show on TV "the old and the calm" *rim shot in the background*

hey guide thing you there? thought jason expecting to hear nothing jason was pleasantly surprised when he heard

"yes I'm here"

(no dip but where am I on a map) thought jason regretting ever waking up

anyways I should probably test the limits of this body he thought as he got up and started looking for his mom

eventually after exploring as far as his stumpy legs would take him he came to the conclusion (wow this cave is bigger than I thought) he thought as he got back up and continued his journey to find his mom and some food as he heard his stomach growl

after about 15 minutes he found the entrance to the cave and was greeted by a sight he could have never seen on earth a 50 ft anaconda eating a goat whole but the flowers were pretty the trees were green the air smelled sweet it would've been beautiful if jason hadn't been so terrified

(I think I'll stay inside the cave from now on)

he thought as he began running for his life

(I nearly wet my self at the sight of that snake) he thought finally slowing down

*rustle*

(what was that?)

*crunch*

(RUUN) he broke out into a sprint only stopping when he saw a boulder thinking he was gonna die he hid behind the boulder and silently cursed the deity that brought him to this cursed realm

(just got here and now I'm going to die on an empty stomach and in fear)

*clomp*

the noises only got louder akon was curled up in fear silently crying calling out to the deity he was cursing a minute ago

(akon why are you so scared?)

relief washed over jason as he realized who it was

(oh thank God its just my mom) (now if only I could talk I could tell her what happened but for now I'm just happy and hungry)

(did someone try to hurt you)

a thought just dawned on jason he could hear his mom but not see her mouth move

(is this some form of telepathy or could dragons just communicate with out saying a word)

(I knew I shouldn't have left to hunt) his mom panicked

jason wondered if he could communicate the same way he communicate with his guiding voice

(well no time like the present to test my theory) he thought while focusing on his words

however his anger subsided being replaced with joy as he saw what his mom was carrying

(Well looks like I'm gonna teach you to talk tommorow but for now lets eat)

while they're eating let's take a step out of frame for a minute to discuss dragon biology

1. dragons don't talk like humans it's not impossible its just they don't have lips they can learn how to talk like people but it takes time

2. all dragons are able to "communicate" with each other no matter how far away thanks to magic

3. their scales show their magic potential eventually I'll elaborate on this farther

4. if a dragon deems a person worthy they may communicate with that individual like they communicate with other dragons

well it looks like I've taken up enough of your time and now that they've stopped eating I can get back to my Sudoku

(ok akon how do I explain this when dragons communicate they form a link with the one they're communicating with kind of like strings connecting their hands)

looking at jason she realized this might take a little longer than she thought

(oh...ok so what if I focus on the strings while thinking what I want to say) he wondered as he started focusing he could sense some type of ethereal string connecting them

(you surprise me I thought it would take you at least one more day to figure this out) she was surprised akon was able to say that although the more she looked at him the more she realized how tired he was

jason couldn't agree more his limbs felt like lead and he was mentally strained from what happened earlier after about 15 minutes of walking and cursing his stubby child legs he made it to the nest now even more tired he called the guiding voice to set an alarm for the morning(if I'm gonna learn I'm not gonna slack off) he thought as he drifted into a peaceful
