Adopted girlfriend pick-up line

We finished eating Chick-Fil-A, and honestly, for a second, it was better than that roasted pig I had for dinner the night before.

We went back to school, and the girls insisted on carrying the bags around to show the other girls their swimsuits. Yea, their swimsuits, apparently Kayla got them swimsuits and I'm meant to stand out in the one I picked.

Besides that, Olli and James picked out great accessories for everyone. The boys got sunglasses and some gold chains, which do not make you look any cooler, and Olli got us some cover-ups, a different color for everyone, and she got us new earrings, that we probably won't be able to wear because, I don't know, we're going swimming! She got us sterling silver rings, that we probably also won't be able to wear, and matching hair ties.

I liked the matching hair ties.

Anyways, when we got back, it was already time for 6th period.

Only King, me, and J were in the same 6th period. It was history class, I believe, but we didn't have any work to prove it.

"Bro, we both know 2k 20 is better than 2k 21." I heard King reason with J.

"2k 21 is way better, dumbass." J rolled his eyes.

"Dude, you're just trash at the game!" King raised his voice.

I sighed, rolled my eyes, and walked away. I stood in the corner scrolling through my TikTok feed looking for something new.

"Heard you were King's adopted sister, you can be my adopted girlfriend any day." I pulled my eyes from my phone to see a cute guy hovering over me. I swear, I knew all the cute people were in one place… other than Aiden, of course.

"Oh my god, I know an 11 or 12-year-old did not just attempt that pick-up line!" I said, sliding my phone into my back pocket.

"12. People love my pick-up lines." He said.

"People? Not girls?" I questioned, this is probably the most I've 'flirted' in my life.

"The only people being girls." He said back to me, I'd been smiling like a weirdo the whole time.

"Oh? So I'm not the first girl to hear that line, hm?" I put my hand on my hip.

"Nope, you're the first to hear it. Did it work?" He grinned at me but before I could speak, I felt a hand grab mine off my hip and pulled me away.

"What, Chester?" The boy's grin turned into a thin line in a split second.

"Stay away from her, Ty. She's not like Clara." King grimaced and pulled me closer.

"Never said she is, Chester." Ty smiled at me and walked off.

"What were you talking about?" King turned me to him and looked through my soul.

"Nothing. He just gave me a horrible pick-up line." I shrugged.

King looked at me so hard I thought his eyes were gonna burst open, then he dragged me over to where they were and sat me in the seat they were standing around.

He and James started doing something on their phone and when I attempted to get up, he shot bullets at me with his eyes, I sat back down, and he went back to whatever he was doing.

Omg, do I no longer have my freedom? I'm going home.

"King, I'd like to stand up," I said. I wasn't going to ask his permission to stand up, that's stupid.

He shrugged so I stood up, then sat on the desk.

I mean, I didn't want to stand, I just wanted to not sit so low.

We went to our next period, and luckily, there was no Ty, but there was Lira. I had no plans to confront her. Then, she'd obviously try to show me up at King's pool party. By doing that we might accidentally have the same outfit, and at my first party as King's potential wife, and that'd be a disaster.

That'd be a disaster anyway, and the only way it'd be able to be alright is if we faked being best friends. And Lira doesn't look like a mean person, but the girls would probably hate me if all that happened and I didn't tell them Lira was my friend, so no.

She smiled at me as I walked past her seat, I smiled back and even waved.

King dragged me to the very back of the class. I could feel at least one pair of eyes on us.

I tried to discreetly turn around, but whether it was discreet or not, I could see Lira watching us. She didn't have any kind of look on her face, she was just looking.

"Here, it's the guys and the girls' number." I heard King say at the same time my phone buzzed.

I opened it to see he texted me 6 numbers with a name behind each.

"Thanks," I mumbled and stood next to King and leaned on the wall.

"I wanna do a 7th period TikTok, we only have 30 minutes left," King said.

"Ok," I said.

"Which one do you want to do?" I asked. I'd learned most of them but refused to do half.

"The chocolate Cocoa Puffs one." He said.

"Uh- alright. Let's see if Kayla wants to do it." I started typing, but my phone disappeared from my hands and appeared into his.

"No, I want you to do it with me." He put my phone away.

"I despise that song and dance, no thanks." I leaned against the wall again and turned my attention to the outside of the classroom.

"Why?" He asked.

"Other than the dolphin dance, all my sister wants to do and listen to is that song and dance," I said, I would totally watch Emy dance like a dolphin for the rest of her life if she never danced to the Cocoa Puffs song again.

"Alright, I promise that you won't ever have to hear the song after we finish filming the TikTok," King said, pulling me from my stance and to his already set up phone.

Did I tell you guys about the chapter 40 special yet? Y'all get to decide what happens and if it happens on a special day (say Christmas or Valentines), and if y'all don't want that I could do a mass release of 10-30 chapters (preferably nothing over 25 for my sanity). But! Only if y'all get me to 50k views and 1k collects, so get on that! If nothing happens by chapter 40 then I'll let the story progress as it would've.

GO! GO! GO! GO!

For our little hedge-hog if not for me :)
