Not his only option

"Mind telling me what's going on here?" I asked in a cutesy voice.

King didn't say anything but his eyes kept going over the text as if he didn't know what was happening. Then his face got stern and his fingers started typing.

"She needs to figure herself out. Plus, she's not my only option," King muttered the last bit. Uh-oh! Secret love interest? I'm intrigued.

"Was that why you acted like you wanted to murder me in my sleep and scatter my internal organs throughout time and space?" King asked casually.

"Precisely," I answered.

"Well now it's solved, how did you find out about it in the first place?" I zipped my lips, twisted my fingers, and threw the invisible key behind me.

"Fine but the next time you want me to tell you something I'll do the same," He smirked. I groaned but accepted it. What kind of person would he think I was if he knew I went through his phone?

"Ooh, looks like Mav is coming in with your family in a little bit. Let's get to the main hall." King said and I perked up. I mean, I didn't 'perk' up, I jumped up. That is an inaccurate nickname…

We went down to the hall and waited for a few minutes before Emy, mom, and El were back within my reach.

"Emy, El!" I shrieked and lightly tackled them in a hug.

"Em!" I heard El's little voice under me. Oh, I missed her. She was 6 but she could pass off as 2 in height. I call her my little midget man.

I released my sisters and went to hug my mother, my sweet, plump, eyebrow-less mother. Yes, all the time is a good time to make fun of my mother.

"How have you been, Em?" My mom asked.

"Great, the Kingdom is really fun," I said.

"Kingdom?" Mom, El, and King all said at the same time.

"It's what I subconsciously call King's and my friends," I explained.

"Let's let them get settled in, Perk," King said. There were a few maids flocking us, letting us have our moment but waiting to do their job.

"Fine. Bet I could beat you in Snake." I teased.

"You're on." He said and we both took off down the hallway.

We played Snake for an hour, but I only won 2 rounds and he won 3.

"'I bet I could beat you in Snake'," He mimicked me.

"It's practically a tie, and I don't sound like that!" I rolled my eyes and huffed.

"Sure Perky," He said.

"You think they're all settled in now?" I asked.

"Should be," King looked at the time on his phone. It was already 5:24.

"You wouldn't by any chance know where they're staying, would you?" I asked King and he nodded.

"Great! Let's go!" I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the arcade room although pretty soon he was the one pulling me around because I had no idea where we were going.

Eventually, we arrived at the guest rooms. They each got their own rooms which I found to be a little odd, I was so used to Emy and El sharing a room.

We entered mom's room, which was less grand than mine but still way better than what we were used to, and everyone else was in there too.

I climbed on the bed and went to TikTok.

"Um…?" King said and rubbed his arm. Oh, yea, he isn't familiar with these people.

"Mom, El, Emy, that's King. Your Highness, that's my mother and two little sisters Ella and Emma. Go crazy El." I introduced them and let El loose, who was staring at him from the corner with wonder-struck eyes.

"Mommy said you were an heir, but then she told me you weren't a prince. Was she right?" El asked, coming out of the corner.

"She was, I'm no prince. I'm a King." King said in a cocky voice. I cut my eyes at him and sat up.

"What he means is he's neither. He's just a very rich child." I educated my little sister and King chuckled.

"Aww," El said.

"Come here mama's little midget man," I called her before she asked something embarrassing like little sisters do. She crawled into my lap and sat in between my legs.

"Ma-mama's lil- little midget man?" I heard King say, he was choked up on a laugh.

"Yes, this is mama's little midget man," I said proudly and gave El a kiss on her head. I wonder if I had brothers instead of sisters if they'd allow me to do half the weird stuff I get away with.

"Right, well, what about her? She's been really quiet since she got here." King pointed out, then I noticed Emy hadn't said hi to me or anything really since she got here.

"Emy?" I asked.

"Yep." She said.

"Oh, right, hi," She said to King and went back to her phone. Ugh, kids these days. Always on their electronics.

'Sorry' I mouthed to King, he just shrugged.

"Anybody up for an inside trampoline park?" He asked. No. Crapping. Way. If this place has a spa and a slushie bar (or just great slushies), then I'd never want to leave.

"Me!" El squealed.

"I'll come," Emy said calmly.

"What about you ma?" I asked.

"I think I'll take a bath and catch up with y'all later," She said, eyeing the bathroom door.

"Alright, let's go then," I said.

Yes sir, a kids-only bouncy machine. The only thing I've ever wanted.
