Lazily square dancing

After I changed into blue-jean short shorts and a blue short-sleeved plaid button-down crop top with a red bandana around my neck (I thought that would be the best outfit for what we were doing), I made my way downstairs to see El and Emy waiting on the sun chairs for me.

"Finally," I heard Emy mumble under her breath as she got up. That's my sister and I love her but I will not hesitate to fuck up blood, she needs to get her act together. Like, the crap?!

"Uhm, alright. Let me pull up the playlist." I smiled at El and she smiled back. Emy cracked a slight tug of the lips but other than that did nothing.

We walked out into the field and I played the first song. I use the word playlist very lightly because there were only two songs we lazily square danced too.

"Nah, nah, honey I'm good, I could have another but I probably shouldn't I, I got somebody at home," As the opening played I grabbed Emy's arm and we started skipping in circles. We were both laughing, now that's the Emy I remember.

Clap

We clapped and linked opposite arms and turned directions to the next verse, "It's been a long night here and a long night there and these long, long legs are damn near everywhere."

Clap

"Hold up now you look good, I will not lie, but if you ask where I'm staying tonight."

Clap

"Gotta be like, ah baby, nah baby, you got me all wrong baby, my baby's already got all of my love."

Clap

"So nah nah honey I'm good, I could have another but I probably shouldn't I, I got somebody at home and if I stay, I might not leave alone. Nah, honey I'm good, I could have another but I probably shouldn't I, I gotta bid you a due, to another I will stay true." I expected to be grabbed by a little arm and lead her in the dance but I was surprised when I grabbed an arm slightly bigger than my own.

I opened my eyes to see King skipping around in circles with me.

I let out my uncontrollable giggle and we continued to dance. I would catch glimmers of El and Emy dancing together and it made me laugh harder.

By the end of the song everyone had danced with everyone and we were all laughing, exhausted messes.

"And I thought country dances couldn't be fun," King said between breaths.

"Oh, boy please," Emy snorted, I smiled, and El giggled.

"Angie, water please," King called and I looked up to see the same maid who told me King wanted to have breakfast walk towards us with a platter of waters. Ugh, not those appetizing as hell looking waters again!

"Thanks, that's my personal maid." King said, grabbing his water and handing one to everyone else.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintances, I'm Angilena, you may call Angie," She bowed to us. I like how I've been here for two weeks but was never introduced to Angie.

"Hey," Emy said with a closed-lip smile.

"Hi!" El said with the normal enthusiasm of the youngest child.

"Hello," I sent a toothy smile, I was too happy not to.

She smiled at us one last time before turning back to the shadows.

"I think we've had enough physical action today. My fat rolls are dying, I need food." Sis was actually out here starving. Like, my poor insides. Needing substance while I'm out here having a good time.

"Yes, let's go feed your non-existent fat rolls," King rolled his eyes and smirked. This man's audacity! I can have fat rolls if I want, just like I can be whatever I want. My gender is pineapple and my race is duck.

"Angie, a bowl of grapes please." King called. Mm, grapes. I haven't had those in a while. Sounding real good right about now.

It took Angie 3 minutes to arrive back with the bowl of grapes and we all dug in. There were two vines so there were plenty to go around.

"So what else is there to do around here?" Emy asked after her 8th grape.

"Couple things," King shrugged and I almost choked. So an inside trampoline park, movie theater, swimming pool, arcade, and god knows what else classifies as a couple things?!

"Right," I rolled my eyes.

"Well, mom and dad were going to take us go-kart racing before lunch today," King said.

"And when is lunch?" I looked at the time on my phone.

"Whenever they get off of work. Usually happens about 3:45 on the weekends." King said. It was only 1:13.

"Sounds fun but what'll we do until then?" Emy took the words right out of my mouth.

"Angie, get Mav," King called out as he smiled at us like he was going to repeatedly stab us in the heart with a pair of scissors.

Luckily he didn't, but he did take us to the movie theater room and Maverick gave us the remote to work the big screen.

Except that was the moment I figured out my little sisters didn't watch anything interesting whatsoever.

Halfway through whatever program they were watching I was about to sneak out of the theater but King caught me.

"Woah, where are you going?" he caught my wrist and asked me.

"Anywhere but here," I answered truthfully. He glanced at them and then I glanced at them and then he said:

"Me too," and got up. We quietly crept away from my sisters and to the living room, where we spent time watching important things (O.K. KO! Let's Be Heroes).
