Just a trick of the light! (Denki x reader)

Quirk:  Solar Power and Earth. Has the ability to absorb energy from light and use it. Can use the energy in its raw forms or other forms such as fire, lightning, light, ect, but if raw form is over used she can get radiation poisoning in which causes cracks to form under the eyes and internal bleeding. Needs sunlight to be up and about, if not exposed to light over a certain period of time, she can become really sick. She can heal people using her earth quirk as well as control nature. She can create energy also from plants in which could help her a lot, but she would still need to have had sunlight every 12 hours.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

"Alright class settle down..." my teacher stood in front of us staying silent till we quietened down, having said that, he continues "Right... so remember how I mentioned we have a school festival coming up? Well, we got informed this morning that we have three weeks to plan and ready everything!" The class's mood went from serious to a rather exciting one. Everyone waits anxiously for our teacher to continue up until someone slams the classroom door open. We all turn our heads to the direction of the door and notice it's one of the office desk lady's panting and breathing heavily.

She wasted no time and got on with what she came here to do "Is (Y/n) here?" I nodded standing up. As soon as she spotted me she walked towards me then grabbed my shoulders when I was within reach "You need to head over to Hosu Hospital immediately, Your father has gotten badly injured!" Hearing the news, my heart drops... I run to the door and stop in my tracks and turn to my class "Please don't plan anything without me. Come up with ideas but wait till I get back please!" After I said what I wanted to say I ran to the hospital since it wasnt that far. I just hope my dads ok. I better hurry...

Panic surged through me and I was struggeling to breath, whether it was due to my stress or me running from school to the hospital, I had no idea and I had no time to figure it out. Eventually after about twenty or so minutes I finally arrive and run over to the information counter asking where my father is. The woman was clicking away at her computer and within seconds she told me where I needed to go so following the orders I was given I run once again and before I know it I'm standing at the door that separates me from my dad. As I anxiously stand there staring at the door I doctor comes out and closes the door behind him and sighs the longest sigh I've ever heard then meets my gaze.

"Can I help you?" His sweet voice made me flinch then I said the only thing that came to mind "My father... is he okay?!" The doctor looked at me as if I was mad."He will be, he has broken bones in his face as well as his right arm. He was in a pretty rough fight!" Those seven last words caused my body to stiffen and the doctor seemed to notice "well...uhhh...I'll uh...be going off now... you may go in..." and he left. I watched as he left. His body fading in the distance. As I stand there watching him though, I slowly try processing what he had said. What exactly happened to my father that he got himself beaten up badly like this for?

Hesitating at first I place my hand on the door handle. But before I could lift my head to look through the small window in the door a memory comes rushing.

"Daddy?"

"Yes honeybun~"

"Look daddy there's an ice-cream cart! Can we? Can we? Can we?"

Sigh "ok only because you're so persistent~"

"Yaaaaay! Ice-cream! Ice-cream! Ice-cream!" I screamed in joy holding my dads free hand while he carried the groceries. That day we were casually walking around the city doing our monthly shopping. But like usual there's always a villain that takes the joys and pleasures of a child, just up ahead of where my father and I were walking a very worried looking woman was screaming and running from something from the corner she just came from "HELPPPPPP! HE'S GOING TO KILL MEEEEEE!" (Cliche am i right?🤣🤣) 

"Honeybun, listen stay here. Daddy needs to do his job real quick ok! When daddy's done I'll come  right back and we can get our ice-cream okay?" I knew he had to since he was a hero so I nodded my head and smiled "ok daddy!" A second after i said that her let go of my hand, patted my head and ran off after placing the groceries next to me. I watched as he swiftly moved from me to the lady. That's when the unthinkable happened... The lady who was screaming and running as if her life depended on it a couple of seconds before, fell to the ground. It wasn't the fact the she just dropped to the ground, it was the fact that it seemed like someone threw something right through her body causing a big whole to be very visible on her body even from so far away.

My dad managed to dodge whatever was still flying through the air because of his good reflexes. When he's feet landed back on the ground he disappeared. He was gone I couldn't see him. But no sooner then later I managed to catch a glimpse of him again and relief spread through my body. He was throwing uppercuts and dodging. Doing flips and standing his ground, whereas the villain was losing pretty badly. Things were looking really bad for him. Keeping his focus on the villain the whole time he doesn't seem to notice another sneaking up behind him "DADDYYY! LOOK OUT!" He didn't turn around in time... My dad froze in place and dropped to the ground. Him lying on the ground in his own pool of blood.

"DADDYYYYYYYYYY?!" I ran to my father's body as the villains took their escape. Sitting on my knees next to my dad while crying on my dad's chest he lifts up his hand and caresses my face "H-hey now kiddo, don't cry... I'll be fine I swear..." I tried my best not to cry but the more I wanted to hold it back the more they wanted to come running out. Still holding my face my dad's hand falls to the ground. Panicking I put my ear to his chest and I could hear very faint heart beats. Once again relief ran through my system. Seconds later an ambulance arrives and takes both me and my dad. Throughout the whole ride I was holding my dad's hand just hoping he would be okay. Once we got to the hospital they dragged my dad away while one of the nurses where standing next to me trying to assure me everything would be ok.

But at that very moment, I was lonely, unsure of the future of the only family member I had left. I was scared, terrified to say the least. Two hours of waiting in the waiting area along with the nurse who was trying so desperately to cheer me up, I got taken to the room where my dad was. And almost immediately I was by his side with tears in my already red and puffy eyes clinging to my dads hand again. "Hey... I told you to stop crying! Everything is fine honeybun~ come here..." he outstretched his arm signaling me to give him a hug. And in the position we stayed till I eventually climbed onto the bed my dad was on and layed down next to him with my head on his arm.

"Daddy..."

"What's wrong kitten?"

"..."

"Baby. What's wrong?"

"Please promise me that you will be more careful while fighting villains daddy please... because I don't want to-hmpf-to loose you to daddy..." by now tears were streaming down my face like waterfalls. "(Y/n) daddy was just really focused on defeating that villain to make sure that you don't get hurt to see the other villain little kitten. But daddy promises to be more careful ok honeybun!" My arms were now wrapped around my dads neck and my face was buried in his neck "okay daddy! I love you!"

"I love you too little kitten!"

I sighed and looked through the small window of the door pushing aside the memory, to see my dad covered in bandages. My heart drooped. I opened the door and walked over to my dad. "H-hey ki-" I interrupted him "D-dont Hey kitten me dad! You broke your promise!" He looked at me, hurt written all over his "It was to protect my student (Y/n). I'm sorry but you know by now what a hero's job is..." silence filled the room. I then leaned over to my dad and hugged him "I'm just happy your okay dad!" I sighed into the hug. "Dad?"

"Mhmmm?"

"I've decided..."

"(Y/n) what are yo-"

"I'll go to UA to become a hero!"

"I don't know... not after today... Why do you all of a sudden want to be a hero?"

"Well dad, I want to be sure that no one get hurt and I want to be able to help.."

"I don't know (Y/n) I'm just worried you'll get hurt..." my dad shakes his head sounding very uncertain. "C'mon dad, you know I'll be capable enough to handle myself and besides, I was trained by the best!" I smile and punched his arm slightly, that seemed to make him smile abit. "Fine but on one condition!"

"Mmmmhmmm?"

"You be careful!" I smiled softly knowing that these words were serious and caring. "Okay dad deal!" I hug him tighter "So dad? What exactly did happen today?" My dad looked at me with those normal tired eyes of his and sighed "What a pain! We were ambushed. The day started out as normal but then when lunch came around there was an intruder but we found the press in our school grounds so we only thought it was them. But we were wrong..." my father continued explaining what had happened with the USJ and to bcs honest it was scary hearing everything. Not long after he told me the story, the doctor from before walks in and announces the dad would have to stay over for a night so they could monitor him and that I should leave to let him rest and so I did with a kiss to the cheek and a light hug.

When I got home it was already four oclock. And so I decided to go take a shower and make myself something to eat. As I am eating. An idea pops into my head. Why dont i surprise dad when he gets home? I quickly finished my plate of good and did my dishes. "Right, now all I have to do is run to the store, get what I need, come back home, prepare the surprise then I'm all set!" I tidied myself up and ran to the door to slip on my shoes. And out I go to the shop. It wasnt even a 15 minute walk and I was now at the entrance. I look down to my phone and search the ingredients I will be needing. "Okay so... I need... a can of condensed milk, 6-7 slabs of chocolate- wait hold up... 6-7?! Cheesum okay... then I need coacoa powder, icing sugar, full creamed milk, buter but we have that so we should be fine, and Marie biscuits. Damn that's alot... oh well let's get shopping!" Off I go racing down isle for isle until I find the ingredients. When I came to the chocolates I found myself just staring, I had no idea which flavor to pick.

After eventually deciding  to take dark chocolate since my dad loves dark chocolate and so do I, I head to the counter to pay. As I'm walking out the store I hear someone calling out my name. Hmmm? I turned around to see Hinori waving happily at me while running to me. "H-hey (Y/n), how you holding up? Your dad okay?"

"Yeah my dads strong and you know that Hinori, but he did get his bones in his face fractured and one of his arms broken..." Hinori just looked to the ground, sadness in her eyes "ohhh..." silence fell upon us. That was until I broke the silence between us "well... erm anyways who are you here with?"

"Just myself like usual..." I nodded my head then an idea popped into mind "Ey Hinori, you wanna help me surprise my dad. I was thinking of making him my famous chocolate fridge tart he likes so much, if you can do you wanna sleepover. I know it's a school night but-"

"I'd love to!" Hinori cut me off immediately making me smile "Alright! Let's go!" And off we went. "Are you planning on taking off school tomorrow (Y/n)?" I sighed looking down to the ground as we walked "you know my quirk right and how my father was upset with the fact I hadn't wanted to enter Ua? Well today while conversing with him I decided that-" I was cut off by a shocked Hinori "you decided that you would be entering Ua?!" I stiffened at how down she sounded. Knowing that I'm her only friend I start to feel bad "W-why..." I my thoughts were interupted by her "w-why now? Why do you have to leave me?"

"Hey now I did not say I was going to le-"

"That's what they all say!" She turned around and began stomping away before turning to face me once more "I did not need this... not even from you!" And that she walked away leaving me to feel dumbstruck. "H-hinori come back!" I started chasing after her but then a powerful wave of knives were thrown at me, carefully throwing down the ingredients I had bought I swiftly throw myself around trying my hardest not to be touched my any sort of blades"I-im sorry we can't be friends anymore!" When I finished dodging all the knifes by the skin of my teeth I paused to look up to where Hinori previously was only to be met with nothing. Did she just say we can no longer be friends?

"Hey get away from her! Nrgahhhhhh!" I saw a girl being bullied who seemed to be the same age as I was. Not being able to stand by and watch any longer I charge at them."huh?! Another punk who wants a beating?!" The said bully turns and starts running at me. The minute he is an inch away he decides to throw a punch but the second he threw his punch at my I dropped to the ground and tripped him. Thus taking the opportunity to straddle his waist while I punch his face, as my hand hit his face the third time I felt a hand on my shoulder and next thing I knew I was sent flying through then my back hits into a wall that was pretty close by.

Being the stubborn child I was, I lifted myself up and charged towards the two bullies. As I drew near to them the ran away. Victory. "Yeah you better run!" I turned and walked to the girl who was shivering on the ground "Hey are you okay?" I stretched my hand out towards her to take it but when I did she flinched and that did not go unnoticed by me. I lowered myself to be on my haunches while still holding my hand out "I'm not going to hurt you, you can trust me. Here, my names (y/n) Aizawa! But you can call me (Y/n)!" I smiled warmly at her and she slowly lifted herself up and took my hands "I-Im H-Hinori Tsubaki!"

I stared at the spot I last saw her thinking of our childhood. I turn around and start walking home. "What's going on?" I finally get home and head over to the kitchen to start "right... now let's see... Take the Marie biscuits and crush them into small pieces in a bowl..." I then walked over to our Tupperware and selected a bowl I started crushing them and the them in the bowl. "Okay~ Now select a slab of chocolate and break it into the bowl where the Marie biscuits are!"

"Next you mix a cup of icing sugar and a cup of coacoa powder, once you have done that you steadily and slowly add a little bit of water. Mix the two over a stove and bring to a boil. Add a cup of butter as you mix it. After this mix the mix to become thick liquid throw it with the mix of the Marie biscuits and stir till you satisfied. Let it set for an hour!" I finally get all of that done and set a timer for an hour. Might as well keep myself busy to speed up time. I go to the back yard and start my training. As if it was five minutes an hour went by so I headed back in, to the kitchen to continue. I soon finished my top layer and put the tart back in to set until tomorrow morning. I looked at the time and saw it was now almost ten o'clock so I decided to shower again to wash away the sweat and climb back into bed.

As fast as I fell asleep I woke up. I stumbled out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. I did my hair and brushed my teeth. I washed my face and applied a little bit of makeup but not too much. I went back into my room and got a suitable pair of clothes to wear and threw them on. Immediately after I finished I got a phone call "Hello? (Y/n) Aizawa speaking!"

"Greetings (Y/n). I'm Principal Nezu, your dad here told me you would like to enter Ua?"

"Y-yes I do! Is my dad by you?"

"Yes he is. Now, as i was saying, your father just spoke to me and asked me to run you in the exams we did with the first years! Would you be up for it?" I thought for a couple of seconds and then came to a decision "Alright, I'll do it!"

"Okay, I'll be waiting for you!" With that the call ended and I made my way to Ua. I was enjoying my walk until I bumped into someone and started falling. I ready myself for the pain that was to follow but to my surprise it never came. I slowly opened my eyes and felt an arm wrapped around my waist "woah you okay cutie?" When my eyes were fully opened I saw blonde haired Male holding me smiling at me. I quickly shoved him off me "W-who the hell are you?"

"Ahh where are my manners, the names Denki Kaminari! And you are..." I stared at him and noticed all his features, he had a black lightening mark in his hair and his eyes were golden. His name sounds familiar...I had not noticed I was staring until he waved his hands in front of my face "Hey you okay!" Blood started rushing to my cheeks as I realized I had been staring "H-hi m-my names (Y/n)! I'm sorry but I must go!" With that I ran off in the direction of UA. Once I got there I saw my dad standing at the gates of Ua. "Hey dad, how you holding up? How are you even walking about right now?!"

"Recovery girl helped... that's why I was here!" I noticed how tired my dad looked and I felt sorry for him. Silence clung to the air but that was quickly broken "Principle Nezu is waiting! Let's not keeping him waiting any longer shall we?" I nodded at my dads statement and ran to his side. I threw my right arm around his waist as we walked. Soon we reached the Principles office. We went in, sat down, had a cup of tea all while he was explaining what needed to be done. I was standing by the gates of battlefield A getting ready by stretching and then there's an announcement "Alright (Y/n), you have exactly 45 minutes, every minute counts! Start!" That's when I ran in and began the fun.

La time skip

I was getting nervous standing just outside the door of class 1A waiting for my dad to arrive so we could go in. I saw students enter the class and heard their random conversations they had with one another. Luckily they had not noticed me as they walked in. As the hall ways seem to clear my dad walks up to me "Alright so this is how its gonna work. I'm going to head in and greet the class and when I say we have a new student, walk in!" I nodded my head and watched my dad walk into the class and close the door behind me.

I listened to my tired dad greeting the class. A few voices we heard saying "Yoah why is Aizawa sensei here" and things like "how are your injuries?" They suddenly went silent and I heard my dad sigh. "I'm fine, Recovery girl helped me heal quicker, now that that is a side. We have a new student today..." I walked in and stood in front of the class and looked at the individual face in the classes. "Alright go ahead and introduce yourself and tell the class about yourself!" I faced the class once more after facing my dad "H-hi I'm (Y/n) Aizawa!" I looked over to dad and had a silent discussion with him to which he nodded his head. I listened to the class gasp and stare at both dad and I "yes I am his daughter! I hope we all get along well and please treat me as you would with your classmates! And please call me (Y/n)!"

"Thank you Hon-... I mean thank you (Y/n) please have a seat next to Denki over there please!" I followed my fathers orders and realised who my dad seated me next to, I awkwardly sit down and stare at dad. "Why, isn't it cherry cheeks I accidently bumped into the other day!" I looked to my right to be greeted by non other than the blonde I had indeed bumped into. Great! "Oh hi, Denki Kaminari right?"

"Oh wow you remember my name! How does a goddess such as yourself, remember my name!" Once again blood rushed to my cheeks and I look to the front trying my best not to make eye contact with him. Dad told us that we have a few weeks before the sports festival and that we needed to train. He continued after the class settled down "So today we will be doing a bit of hero informatics!" (Yes I know this only happened after the sports festival but I just wanted this to be now hehe sorry)

"I hope we dont get tested on this because I'm not good with this yet!"

"Oh~ I wonder what it will be" the class was mumbling to themselves until dads eyes went red and they silenced themselves. (Sorry if I get the wording wrong I'm doing this based off memory) "Right so today in hero informatics you will be giving us your hero names!" As dad wanted to continue Midnight stroles in and continues for him "And today I will be making the decision whether or not the hero name you pick is appropriate or not. The class president will be handing out white boards and each of you will receive one. Once you have one write down your hero name!" I looked over to dad "and do choose your name wisely, you might end up having to stay to this name from here on out!" Dad lifted up his sleeping bag and climbed in "now Midnight will assist just please keep the noise down to a minimum!" He then zipped himself up and slept in a corner.

I couldn't help but shake my head as I giggled to myself, I'm glad my dad is okay! My thoughts were interrupted when the person in front of me handed me a bunch of boards to take one and pass back. I held the marker in my hand staring at the board. What should I name myself... that's it! I quickly wrote down my name and waited my turn because people were already going up to tell us their names and to my surprise they were all pretty amazing! I looked next to me to see Denki writing then rubbing the answer away "Hey Denki, what do you want your hero name to be?"

"I don't know yet, I've tried at least three different names but they don't feel right!" I looked at him then looked at the ground then back at him "what's your quirk?"

"Electricity... why?" I held my hand against my chin and thought for abit "how about... The electricity hero: Charge bolt!" His eyes seemed to light up at my idea "Thank cherri cheeks!" I smile at him and nod "your welcome!"

"W-whats your quirk?" I looked at him then looked at my feet "well..." I lifted my head to look at him and as I wanted to speak I get interrupted "Denki Kaminari, come up and tell us you name!" He stood up and smiled at me and threw me a thumbs up. Once he got to the front, he smiled "The electricity hero: Charge Bolt!" Everyone cheered and Midnight approved of it. He once again smiled at me and winked. A blush slowly crept to my cheeks. What's with all the blushing today damn! He sat back down in his seat and looked over to me "you were saying~"

"Well my quirk- well rather quirks-"

"What you have more than one quirk?!"

"Shhhhhh yes! I have solar power and earth! I have the ability to absorb energy from light and use it! I can also use energy from raw forms such as fire, lightening ect!" Denki seemed to have been lost so I just shook it off and smiled. My name was called and I headed to the front my father sat up and watched "I'm the Solar Earth Hero: Solar Flare!" My dad smirked as he went back to sleeping and the class cheered. Midnight seemed to like the name and sent me back to my seat "alright all we have left now is Tenya, Bakugo and Madoriya! Since Tenya and Bakugo have already gone why doesn't Madoriya come up?" What happened after that was just a blur.

It was now lunch and I was planning on grabbing something and head to the roof but as fate would have it that was not going to happen. Before I got up to leave my seat, Denki asked me to sit with him at lunch, so I didn't want to seem rude so I accepted his offer and followed him to the cafeteria. "So how is a lovely lady such as yourself finding Ua so far?"

"Haha, oh I guess it's okay! I'm enjoying it so far, our class is so energetic and so full of life..."

"Haha I guess you're right! Why don't you and I get something to munch on and head on up to the roof!" Looks like I was wrong! "Sure, I don't like being in big crowds anyways!" He laughed and we made it to the cafeteria, he got his meal and I got mine. As we make our exit his friends called him over and made 'oooooo' sounds to tease us. I went blood red in the face and Denki just shrugged it off and grabbed my hand making me follow him.

La time skip

It's been a week that I had been there and Denki and I were like two peas in a pot, well except i kinda like him. Two days ago he went missing but as if nothing happened he appeared he started acting really strange, he wasn't himself, he didn't flirt with me how he usually does. He just smiled at me awkwardly and always looked away the second I looked into his eyes. Could I have done something to make him like this or am I becoming a bit too much? I was walking through the halls from lunch, making my way to class and I decided that I should ask him about this. When i entered class I saw him talking to Mr Bigshot (Bakugou) and I approached them.

I stood there behind Denki and I lightly tapped on his shoulder, He turned around and that is when I became a nervous wreck "umm hey Denki... can we talk for a second?" I looked everywhere but his eyes "s-sure!" I gestured for him to follow me and so he did. I'm so dead...

He followed me out of the building and to a nearby tree. We stood there in silence until I  broke it "Denki..." my heart was throbbing way too loud "d-did I d-do s-something wrong?" I looked up at him with tears in my eyes. He looked up at me with what seemed to be concern "n-no you haven't why?"

"Cause today and yesterday you have been acting different... you wont look me in the eye anymore a-and y-you-" he cut me off with a hug. It was silent for a few moments as I cried into my chest. He let a long sigh out and smiled at me warmly. "(Y/n)... I'm sorry I've been acting weird or different... it's just... lately... ummm..." Why is he prolonging his answer, usually doesnt do this... "Well, I've been wanting to tell you something and did not know how to do it till now, so just hear me out..." I pushed myself back but not out of his embrace nodding my head looking straight into his eyes. Is this it?! Breath (Y/n) breath... "I k-know i-i-it hasn't been long, and I don't know how you will react so I'm just gonna come out and say it...  I think I'm... i-inlove... with... you..."

My eyes widened and I couldn't move, all i could do was look at him as I took in what he had said. He let me  go and as he wanted to turn around I tackled him into a hug again and stares into his eyes while my cheeks went red "I-I-I like you too Denki!" Before he could answer I smacked my lips onto his. My eyes were open from shock, I didnt think I'd have the guts to go it,  but soon melted into it. We soon parted for air and we connected our foreheads as we take in what had just happened. "So does this mean we're... together now..."

"Y-yeah i guess it does Cherry cheeks!" I smiled once more and pecked his lips again "we better go, we dont want to be late do we?" I nodded at his statement and ran to catch up to him. Once I was next to him I took his hand gently in mine and interlaced our fingers. As we were walking to class I looked into his eyes and suddenly I see them sharpen and have a more golden like hue. I was taken aback and stepped away from him. He noticed this "What's wrong?" As he asked that his eyes turned back to normal. So I just smiled "nahhh it was just the trick of the light!" He smile at me and we continued walking next to eachother...
