Signing up to be a Hunter

As I had just awakened my system, I would be able to sign up as a Hunter and fight monsters.

Tomorrow morning I will go and get my Hunting license from the Hunter Association in the middle of the city.

A few hours later

I awoke with a new energy that made me extremely happy, I will be able to kill Magical Beasts today. If all goes well then I will join a party and hunt Magical beasts and level up really quickly.

But being a 14 year old level one, I probably wasn't gonna be joining a party.

When I got up I put on my hoodie and tracksuit bottoms and left the dorm. The morning air was crisp against my skin and the sun, young in the sky, was trying its best to burn me but I could feel only it's gentle warmth.

As I walked through the nearly quiet city, I caught sight of the Hunter Association. It was a large building that looked like it cost millions of credits. It's walls were made of dark marvel and outlined with gold, a huge sign that looked like it was made of sapphires said,

HUNTER ASSOCIATION

I was definitely in the right place, time to get registered. Walking towards the front door, I could smell something so amazing that I couldn't believe it. It was gentle to my nose and seemed to lure me further into the building to discover what was inside.

The doors swung open to reveal a busy room full of men and woman alike, almost all of them wore classic Hunter clothes. The tanks carried shields and wore heavy armour, the dps light armour and sometimes a hood for stealth, the healers looked like something from the games before the Enlightenment, they wore religious type clothes but each one differed. I found out where the alluring aroma came from, the Hunter labelled "The Goddess" was in the building. It's said she is so beautiful that even Magical Beasts bow down to her so she can kill them.

Being in the building and being around all these Hunters was so exciting, meekly I shuffled over to the Signing board on the right wall.

"Hello there write your name, age, level and System here please" a plain looking woman said as she handed me a piece of paper and pen without even glancing my way.

Using the pen, I filled out my information and handed it back to her with a smile on my face.

"Mhm okay, here's your ID card. Don't lose it, it costs 100 credits to replace and tells people of your rank as a Hunter. When you level up more go to the reassignment station in the back to upgrade your rank."

I took the card whilst beaming with excitement, it was a simple blank white card. When I thought of opening it a hologram popped up.

Lv1 Luke Saten

Rank:F

Well that's to be expected, I started off at the lowest grade and would have to work my way up to SSS rank. Only one person had ever reached SSS rank and they were one of the first Hunters that could kill the excessive amounts of Magical Beasts that attacked the cities.

Time to get adventuring

With my ID card in hand I headed to the train station where I bought a ticket to the Spirit Forest. There I would be able to hunt Magical Beasts without interruption.

Once I reached the forests I put away my ID card and got ready to kill. It was a warm forest that looked like something out of a fairy tale, if not for the large amounts of Magical Beasts that lived here then tons of people would have built houses here and ruined the nature. I guess this was one of the benefits of the Enlightenment, it's said that the rate of climate change has reduced so the world is no longer in trouble. It may have something to do with millions of people dying to Magical Beasts and the inability of Humans to expand there cities into Spirit Forests.

Whilst thinking about this I walked into the forest, focused my mind and became alert to almost every sound and movement of things. After walking through the beautiful forest I came upon a small wolf, it was grey in colour with streaks of white that ran along its back.

[Grey Wolf Pup]

HP: 5/5

Well this should be an easy kill, except it was a pup and therefore its pack would be looking for it. If I killed it then I would be slaughtered by the wolves that wanted revenge. I should move onto another target.

I continued walking until I found a small clearing that looked like the perfect place for a Magical Beast or rest, using my innate stealth I hid in a bush on the edge of the clearing.

"Kek, kek"

Lv 2 Goblin

HP: 6/10

A small goblin creature entered the clearing and started chittering in an unintelligible language. It was about 4,3, green and had sharp pointy ears. Every time it moved further into the clearing it looked around as if to check for predators and made the same noise.

"Kek, Kek"

When it's spindly body moved into reach, I activated [Demonic Claws] and slashed out at it. My sharp claws struck its chest and cut deep into the flesh, I'm fairly sure I cracked its ribs. After being attacked, the goblin retreated a few steps and put a bony hand against its wound to stop the bleeding.

All of a sudden its long fingernails glowed a bright purple and the creature raced towards me, as it did I brandished my claws again. Swinging randomly, I somehow managed to cut off the goblins arm. It soon bled to death and the lushious green grass of the clearing was stained with a deep red.

This was easy, I managed to kill a creature an entire level above me with no training.

+1 XP

9 XP till Level up.

Oh yes this is what you like to see. I wonder what the benefits to levelling up are gonna be. Soon I shall know.
