Pain

The skin on my right leg started tearing off as the human continued to drag us to possibly the Breeding Facility. Ash's mouth was bleeding, and he murmured, "M-Mom... I'm scared..." I managed to pat the top of his head and say, "Don't worry Ash... it will be okay.." He started crying, and the human said, "Oh quit your meowing!"

I glanced at my leg and the trail of blood from behind it. I smiled to myself because Jet and the others will certainly find and save us. Birch screeched and yowled, "You're getting hurt!" I sighed and said, "I'm okay. It only hurts a little." Birch licked my hand that was still grasping the basket keeping him safe. I used most of my strength to get Ash into the basket as well.

Birch and Ash fell asleep, and I felt my leg go numb. Suddenly, the air felt cold and it got brighter. We were inside somewhere. I looked around, and this place was all too familiar. The human finally stopped dragging us, and someone else said, "You better not have hurt him, you bastard. He's important for our entire operation."

The human cut the ropes, and I was free. I wanted to run away, but my leg was injured and numb. The man that dragged us here got hit on the head, and the person that hit him said, "You're so careless! His leg looks fucking butchered! The boss'll hear about this..." I was picked up by another human, so I grasped the basket tighter. I did struggle, but I wouldn't be able to do anything even if I did escape.

I was placed in a room with a few other pets, and the human said, "You're going to be here for a bit. I'll get the medic to fix your leg up." Then the human left. A dog pet walked over and said, "You're really beat up. You okay?" I nodded, and another dog came over and said, "Leave him alone Raymond. He's probably been through a lot."

I've accepted the fact that people think that I'm helpless. A cat pet said, "You smell strange. Like... strays." I knew what he meant. Stray was another term to address a pet that has ran away or was abandoned by their owner. No pet or stray uses it because it was really offensive. The fact that he said it means that he isn't very fond of me.

Ash was awakened by this and he hissed loudly. "Bastard! Leave him alone!" The cat looked into the basket and said, "What was that you little runt?" Ash jumped out of the basket and said, "You heard me!" The cat's nails extended into claws and swiped at Ash, but I moved my arm his way and took the hit. It stung, but at least it wasn't Ash.

The cat took a couple of steps back and said, "Why...?" I flattened my ears and said, "I'm his caretaker. Now leave him alone." My nails extended into claws as well, and a dog said, "Calm down you two!" Raymond said, "Yeah chill! First of all, we need to stick together so we can bust out!" The cat just glared and walked away.

Raymond said, "Hehe! Hi, I'm Raymond! And this is my brother Echo!" Echo bowed his head and said, "The cat's name is Jaja. He, too, has been through a lot. One thing's for sure, he's not a normal cat." Echo looked behind him then whispered, "He can go into heat." I couldn't believe it. I was glad that I wasn't the only one, but this is impossible.

Birch tumbled out of the basket and said, "Aah... mom can go into heat too..." Echo and Raymond tilted their heads, and Ash groaned and pointed at me when he said, "He can go into heat too." Both dogs gasped and Raymond ran to Jaja and told him. Echo asked us, "What are your names?" I said, "My name is Rudy. These two are Ash and Birch... my kits."

Jaja walked over and inspected me. He said, "I don't believe that." Ash said, "You can go and ask our dad about it." I looked down in embarrassment. I never knew that talking about this would be so embarrassing. A human that looked like a doctor walked in and picked me up. Surprisingly, that was his almost fatal mistake.

Growling loudly, Ash jumped at the human's ankles, and scratched the hell out of them. The human tried to kick him away but missed, so Ash climbed up his leg to bite his waist. The human dropped me, and Ash jumped off of the human, knocking him down. The human quickly crawled away, and Ash left us all bewildered.

Jaja said, "So badass..." Raymond nodded in agreement and Echo's jaw just dropped. Ash, with a look of triumph, walked to his brother and sat down with his chest puffed out. Then there were even more footsteps. Two men, the medic, and the all too familiar boss. Peter said, "Which one did it?" The medic pointed at Ash, but it looked like he pointed at Birch.

One of the men pulled out a pistol and shot at my other leg first. I tried not to scream, but I couldn't help it. Then he pointed the gun at Birch and fired. My eyes were shut, but I knew that what was done was done. I opened one of them, and I couldn't believe what I saw. Ash was standing in front of Birch. He then fell down, with his eyes slightly glazed over.

He said, "I... did it. I'm faster than a bullet." I picked up Ash and looked at the bullet hole in his side." He said, "I'm sorry for leaving so soon... maybe I'll get to see... Sapphire and Milo." I flattened my ears and placed him down. I said, "I'll never forget you, Ash. My child.." I watch Ash's tears fall as he said, "I love you... mom..." I watched him as he took his last breath.

The bullet in my leg fell out, and I felt my blood boiling with anger. I felt my left leg again, but it didn't hurt anymore. The only thing that hurt was my heart. I stood up with my head held down. My claws that were already extended grew even more, and my tail became heavier. I looked up, and all of the people there gasped in fear.

"H-he's... a monster..." Peter murmured as he took a step back. "We're in some deep shit..."
