Blossom's Demise

I stood up and walked out of the alleyway. There were a bunch of cats out there, but no sign of Jay or Blossom. I didn't want to go because that would worry Jet, and from what Ace told me, he wouldn't want to. But Moon and Lullaby are already here, and Jay said that she was there. Before I could make my decision, there was an explosion.

---------------------------------

I ran away after father shouted at me. I don't understand. I love Jay, and it seems Ash and father have a problem with it. So what if I talk to him a lot? I just want to get to know him. I finally found him, and he seemed to be a bit surprised. "Uh... hey Blossom!" I was happy to see him, but I needed some space. I said, "Say... Jay? Promise you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you."

He nodded, and I said, "I'm going to go hang at Sir Moon's alley. You can come with me if you want." He flattened his ears and said, "Um... It would be better if... I stayed so your dad wouldn't get suspicious! Yeah!" He's so smart! "Great idea! I'll see you later, handsome!" And I ran off. A part of me regretted leaving because mother was still missing, but I needed to get away from the stress.

When I got there, a few cats were confused about why I was here, but they never told Sir Moon or Queen Lullaby about it. I stayed there for a while, chatting with other girls, shooing away flirting boys, and other stuff. Then a cat from Sir Molotov's new alley came over and said, "Sir Moon! You have been invited by Sir Molotov and Sir Jet to an important meeting!"

Everyone started talking about it. I couldn't believe the "Sir Jet" part. No one respected him. I don't understand how he was given that title. Surprisingly, Sir Moon said, "I'll go. This better be important." The cats cheered as Sir Moon and Queen Lullaby left the alleyway. I stayed where I was because I couldn't confront father again after being gone for so long.

Happier than every cat in this alley, I watched as Jay bounded to me and said, "You have to come home, now." I asked him, "Why? Father's just going to get angry again." Jay growled and said, "Your mom is back and injured, and Ash, your own brother is dead! Do you not care?" I was concerned about mother, but I didn't care about Ash. "I'm glad that he's dead. He kept interfering with my business, and he was just the most annoying cat in the world."

This triggered Jay so much. He yowled, "What is wrong with you!? Is our "love" all you care about!?" "No! I still care about mother! Everyone else in my family is a nuisance! My father is a criminal, Ace never talks to me or anyone, Birch is a deformed weakling and Ash was the most annoying cat on earth! I only need you and mother!"

Our lovers quarrel brought around a crowd. Some cats were calling me selfish, and some were calling me crazy. I told Jay, "Back me up here! These people think-" I stopped. Jay was giving me the same look. He murmured, "I knew you were bad news the first time I saw you. Even Hawk and Evan agreed. Not only do you not care about almost everyone in your family, you only care about me..."

I was taken aback by this. Is it wrong to hate my family? Is it wrong that I love Jay a lot? Before I could say anything else, he shouted, "I hate you! I never loved you! I didn't even give you that mouse you ate! It was Ash! And I didn't give you that earring! It was Ace! I've done nothing for you, and I never will!"

My heart shattered into a million pieces. I wondered if all the things he said were true. I wanted to back away, but there were cats in the way. Cats surrounded us in every direction, watching the commotion. Maybe I really am a bad person. Before I could apologize, a human shouted, "Eek! Cats!" Then they threw something strange.

A cat shouted, "Bomb! Run!" All the cats started running, including Jay. Before I could react, my life flashed before my eyes followed with a giant BOOM! "Mother! Help me!"

---------------------------------

"The explosion came from my alley!" Moon shouted. I wanted to go, but my legs were too injured. Luckily, Jet wanted to go with me, so he picked me up and we all ran to Moon's alley. When we got there, everything in the alleyway was on fire, including some cats that didn't make it out. I squinted my eyes and saw a familiar pink earring glowing in the fire.

"J-Jet! Blossom's in there!" Jet growled and shouted, "Blossom! Are you in there!" Cats with small and large buckets of water ran by and poured the water onto the flames. Soon, we were able to see our daughter's corpse lying there in a puddle of water and blood. Not only did she burn to death, she was murdered by another cat that burned along with her.

"Oh... what a horrible death..." I looked into her eyes, and even though they were dead, they were filled with fear, grief, and regret. I looked up at Jet, and he said, "Now we only have two out of six. We have to move to the forest." Moon lowered his head and murmured, "I agree. Let's go announce this to the others."
