Out Of Respect

He came to keep an eye on me so that I couldn't tell a word to my family and there was a possibility I could've gotten emotional after seeing them for so long. 

 

He gave you a lot of time alone with your family and you could've done it even when he was around. 

 

"Mama knows well." She puts a hand on my cheek, reassuringly. "You can't stay single forever, you should start living a life like a normal person. Get married, have children, no matter where you live." 

 

She was implying that I don't have to return to town if I'm happy there. 

 

That can't be true. My mama was certainly making up things in her head and I had to stop her before she divulges my brain anymore. Not seeing her children getting married and with dad on the bed was depressing her. 

 

I taker her hand in my hands and off my cheek and squeeze them tightly. 

 

"Mama, I don't think I like him-"
