A spanner in the works

The crowd erupted into cheers from both sides, regardless of school, they were all ecstatic over such an intense match. Panting as I dropped to the floor, Victor got up and approached me.

Victor: " Incredible performance, I've never felt this much excitement in so long. You really are different from that guy huh?"

Daniel: " I'm not sure what you mean by that?"

I curiously asked him exactly what he meant by that. He simply stared at the same glass-covered window at the centre of the stadium.

Victor: " Nothing much, just a passing thought."

He extended his hand towards me as he helped me up. I was surprised by how friendly he seemed especially considering all my past interactions with him, I was convinced he was an arrogant prick.

Victor: " Well since you beat me, I'll acknowledge whatever it is you're doing in your school. However, it won't be as easy convincing that other guy."

Daniel:" Marcus huh?"
