It was a long day. Every time Anna’s eyes accidentally met with Ali’s, her face would light up in the hope of forgiveness. Her lips turned up to let Ali know that she wanted things to get back to normal. Her eyes, her lips, her ready-to-fall-out tears, all were conveying Anna’s heartfelt regret.
Ali was feeling bad for doing this to Anna, who was already going through a hard time. She wanted to pull her friend in for a tight hug. She wanted to say that she was there for her. But deep down, she had herself convinced that if this time Anna failed to open up to her, she might lose Anna for ever.
The working hours were finally over and Alira was getting impatient. Anna hasn't looked up from her desk for an hour now and neither did she make any effort to talk to Ali. Biting down her lower lip, Alira was contemplating her next move.
