Whatever spell that Benkai used was a pretty high tier spell. Transporting me to a maze, and I haven't been transported back. I've been walking around for quite a while now. The sky is still there, daytime and the sun is shining. It's been over hours, and the sun is still in the same position. The wall are just like the floor, stone bricks and mossy. I haven't encountered anything or anyone ever since I had started walking and I lost track of time. My boots of speed won't activate, and I already drank the rest of my potion of strength. With daggers on me, that's the only thing I have left for self defense.
After several hours of travelling. Something was floating in the air. It had wings stretched out flapping keeping the person mid air. I made a run for it towards the person, but it flew away going left. I followed where it went, and the left side reached a dead end. The person descended to the ground and faced towards me. It was a shirtless man, with black feathered wings.
"So you followed me" he says
"I had nowhere else to go" I reply
"You got yourself here and can't leave? Why'd you even come?"
"I was fighting a person and he used some sort of teleportation spell on me, here I am" I answer
"This person must be really strong then if he was able to bring you here" he replies
"Where am I anyway?" I ask
"You're in the Celestial Maze, in the Celestial Planes. That's what the realm is called anyway"
"So, how do I get out of here?" I ask
"There's only one spell that can bring a person here, and from what I know that spell lasts for 10 minutes"
"10 MINUTES?! I've been here for hours or more!"
"Time here flows faster compared to time in the Human realm" he replies
I take a deep breath to calm myself down. I check him out and it seems that he's unarmed. He has a silver ring on his right hand. I have a gut feeling that he's trapped here like me. But he's got wings and he can fly right out of here.
"So why are you here?" I ask
"You could say, I'm the guardian of this maze" he replies
In an unfamiliar realm, I don't think it's a great idea to trust someone, especially if they're a monster race.
"You should be on your way. It'll take weeks before you return back" he says
"Where am I supposed to go?" I ask
"In the middle of the maze, a treasure lies there. Of course, you're to encounter hostility on your way" he answers
"You want me to reach the middle of this maze? Me, someone who can't use any magic, someone who only has daggers" I say
"You're more than just a man with daggers" he says
"What do you know?"
"Hmph, a lot"
His wings begin to flap and he starts ascending into the air.
"Wait, what's your name?" I shout out
"Gottlich Azrielle" he answers
He flies high, higher than the walls and flies away.
This maze is gonna be tricky. If what he's saying is right. Then I won't be back to where I was until a few weeks pass by in Celestial time. I go back to where I was, heading straight this time since I came from the right side earlier when I turned left to follow Gottlich. As I headed straight there. I started feeling a bit tired and hungry so I took a break for a while. No food, I just sat down on the mossy stone brick floor. I needed to find a shortcut. With the moss on the walls, I can't climb because it would be slippery. If I fell from such a high place, there's a chance I will die from the fall.
After a few minutes of resting, I stood back up and continued moving. I started hearing faint stomping noises, so I stood still and stayed silent. At first I thought it was just my imagination, but the stomping noises started getting louder. I made a run for it going straight. There's a right turn, and a dead end going straight. I made the right turn, leaving me with two options going left or right. With the noise coming from the right, I decide to go left instead. Hopefully avoiding whatever was coming towards me.
A large bull standing in on two legs holding a large axe appeared at the end of the left path. It screamed loudly, and the other stomping noises started going fast. I ran to the right side, and the monster from the left followed me, charging towards me. It was too fast, I can't outrun him. I turned around and waited for the perfect opportunity to outsmart it.
If only I had Sephsevel, something like this would be easy. The monster was closing in 20ft. At last second, I dodge rolled to the right avoiding the charge. The monster stopped on its tracks and stood up. Another one appeared from where I came from. I've been flanked and no where to run. My only option was to fight them.
"Come at me!" I shout out
They roar and charge towards me. I did a running jump charging towards the monster I first encountered. It was very large, and it had dropped its giant axe when they charged. I took out my dagger that I had hid on my waist, and another that I hid on my boot. While mid air, I did a somersault while using my dagger to attack the monster. I landed on it's back where I stabbed him. It stood up the moment it felt the blades of my dagger and I fell off from its back. The other monster was still charging and bumped into the one that stood up. I noticed this and quickly rolled away, barely avoiding the giant monster that would squish me. The first monster got pierced so hard by the horns of the other monster, and couldn't get up. The other monster stood back on its legs and picked up its giant axe. I decide to continue running.
I made the left turn, still running and the monster chased me down. It caught up to me, and with my dagger. I turned around immediately and aimed for it's eye. The monster raises its giant axe ready to crush me with it. I throw my dagger aiming at its eye, and it hits. The dagger stuck onto one eye. The accuracy of his attack was lowered. He slammed his giant axe at me, barely misses. It landed right beside me, the moment the dagger hit its eye. I suddenly thought of a brilliant idea. I stood on handle of the giant axe, and with great balance I ran up to the monster's arm. It tries to swat me away with it's other hand and I throw my other dagger, aiming at it's other eye. I stop waiting for his hand to land, then I throw the dagger. It misses, but hits it's forehead. The two daggers stay on them. I climbed on the monster reaching up to it's shoulder. I pull out the dagger from the eye, and fall down from his back. Using the dagger, I stabbed behind him and while falling. I use the monster's back as support for my dagger slowing my fall.
I land back down and ran behind it's knee where I used my favorite attack. I strike behind his knee as hard as I can with just the dagger. It didn't go deep, so I continued my attack until it fell on one knee. It turns around trying to swing me away with it's giant axe. I go under him, avoiding the attack and slashing his abdominal. Which barely did anything, so I went for another slash before I went under him again. He stood back on it's feet. He jumped and I jumped right after it landed knowing that it's landing would catch me lose my balance. I strike the same knee again, which made him fall to the ground. I immediately went to his other knee and kept striking it until it fell.
"HAHA YES, I WON!" I shout out in joy
I defeated two monsters without any magic and just daggers. I sit down the floor tired. This battle just made me feel so tired. One hit could've made a fatal blow from that monster. Especially since it's size it enormous.
I stood back up and wiped all my sweat off. I may be tired but I have to get out of here. A bag falls from the sky. I look up and see a winged person flying away. Must be Gottlich. I opened it and there was food inside the bag.
"Praise the heavens!" I exclaim in relief
I started eating the food and took a short nap. Shortly after, I wake up and the bag is gone. I continue on going forward leaving the bodies of the monsters. A door appeared in front of me, and it was locked. I took out my Thieves' Tools and picked the lock. The door opened.
