Abyssal Master
Asleep once again, I enter another weird dream.
On top of the same tower where I met my father. This time, I was with a group of people I'm not familiar with, except that one of them is the girl from my previous dream named Steak. Holding the sword with the words 'Galatine' inscribed, and wearing a full plate silver armour. The sky is red, and clouds of smoke were rising from the ground. Unlike last time, there weren't any clouds blocking the view. The staircase led all the way to the ground, and the surrounding area is a city. The chair looked much more like a throne for a kingdom, and the circular thing in the middle of the floor was actually a table. Sitting on the throne is dark armored man with a black ripped cloak. He has dark red hair and dark brown sharp eyes.
"This was going to happen any time soon anyway. I've just been delaying the inevitable" he says
"Your Majesty... We're sorry" a girl with a gemstone as a necklace says
"If this country is to fall, the most I can do is buy time" the guy sitting says
Ah so this person must be the king then.
"We can still win against them, we just need to try harder" I say
The rest of the group looks at me. The king bursts out laughter.
"Therion, do you know what you're saying?" a guy in the group asks
Hold up, did he say Therion? This person looks very similar too. From my previous dream, he looks like the one called Moru. Assuming I'm taking Therion's form again in my dream. I'll just respond to him something Therion would say.
"Of course, I'm sure. This sword I wield, and the help you guys can give. We can stop anything that goes into our way" I respond
"It was great of you to come here, but now you must leave. This is a war Avalon must face alone" the king says
My eyes widen in shock knowing that I'm in Avalon. This temple, the red skies. This must be during the Great Realms' War or before that even.
"You all must head back to your home land. Inform them of what is taking place, and what will happen" the king says
"We came here under the Divine Brethren guild. Accompanied by two holy knights of Holy Land" Steak says
"Yes, I'm well aware. My shadows have told me everything. Right now, those said holy knights have been killed" the king responds
"They're dead? No, you've got to be kidding! They're really strong!" the girl with the gemstone necklace says
"Calm down Maori.. these devils took down a lot of assassins from here. Even some Divine Spirits, they're far too strong" Steak says
So this must be the party of the great heroes during the Great Realms' War. I look around trying to find Edengeld. She is part of the great heroes anyway, but not much people would acknowledge her.
Looking around, she's nowhere to be found. In the group, there's me, Steak, Maori, Cilan. This shirtless guy with green skin must be Berrik Alberos. There's another person with a white overcoat, wearing a weird gauntlet. Unless his hand is metallic.
"You should get going... Asmodeus will be here soon. Once he arrives, there won't be any escape" the king warns
"What of you, sire?" Moru asks
"As I've said I can hold him off. Without my real body, I don't know how long it'll take before my magic runs out" the king responds
"Now leave, that is an order"
Maori goes down the staircase into the temple, and the rest of them follow. I follow last behind them. Inside the temple, a wooden platform was prepared ready to take us down. An assassin would be there waiting for us.
"As we our low in manpower, I've been assigned here by the king one last time to transport the guests, please enter the elevator. A safe passage has been prepared for your escape" he says
My vision starts to blurry and dizzy.
"I guess, this is it for us" I say
The rest of the group looks at me and before they could respond, everything goes black.
I wake up on bed, and stand sit upwards. I move to the closet and grab my bag, my boots of speeds equipped on me looks ready to be activated. After everything that's happened. It was this boots that helped me along the way. I get out of the room and made my way outside. Outside the Hollow Arthas place was a plain filled with knights. I went up to my group and greeted them all.
"Morning sleepyhead" Ravenna greets
"Totally, good morning" I respond back
"We've made the discussions while you slept. Instead of raiding the places our group specifically will be stationed outside. We are to roam and be on standby near the places" Seph says
"So just us will be on standby? How come?" I ask
"Lucas hasn't returned from the infiltration plan. So we have to buy as much time as we can, prevent any of them from heading back to their main base" she answers
"Yeah, we're chosen because of how fast we can move around" Domotraus adds in
"Long story short, we have to roam the near the exits of the kingdom and kill the gems before they can escape" I say
"Indeed, we'll have assistance from the patrolling knights so this should be easy for us" Seph says
Kurt comes in with the maids from the mansion. The maids would be armed with weapons. I approach him and shake his hand.
"I see you needed at least three to babysit you, we're five here. I think we can take care of you" I say
"Oh shut up, they're strong and are going to assist us. Oh one thing before I forget, you're free to kill the nobles too" he responds
"Kill the nobles? What?" I ask
"Yup, also Lord Theo knows the reason of your visit. Everything's cool" he says
"Hold on, why will we kill the nobles? Aren't they like the lifeline of the kingdom?" Razz asks
"Some have fallen into darkness, and fallen too deep to be brought back. We have permission to kill them" Kurt replies
"On that case, we're part of this group too. Yes we know what's our role. Just make sure you guys don't be dead weights" Kurt says
"I think we should be the ones telling you that" I say
We have this competitive air as if trying to prove to each other which one of us is better. In any case, we Assassins of Dusk are made to assassinate people. Should be easy.
We all turn to Naxel who just made his exit. The ground beneath him rises upwards making a platform. Perfect in getting everyone's attention. We all turn to him and listen to what he has to say.
"Hear me, everyone. This is the night we strike the underworld of Zlatan. The Gem of Rider, shall have a taste of what we can do. For the peace of his kingdom, we shall eliminate and weed out those who are against the king!" Naxel shouts out
"For Zlatan!" he cries out
"For Zlatan!" the knights begin to chant
"Now move out!" Naxel orders
All the knights move out in groups. All of them looking powerful with their weapons and half human racial traits. Our group moved out last with them heading towards the main part of the city. Here all the groups had split up and went to their designated attacking positions.
"This is where we part ways" Kurt says
"Huh? Where are you going?" I ask
"I'm gonna be going around picking the ones that escape, I'll see you around" he responds
The maid with cat ears holding a staff started using magic that allowed them to fly up.
"See you around" I mutter to myself
Kurt flies away heading west. I get my handbow and with the modified bolt, I aimed at the roof and shot. It hooked to one of the bricks on the roof.
"We should travel on rooftop, so we can move around easier" I say
The rope falls down allowing us to climb up. I first climbed and it was steady, I motion to the group to follow up with me. We all climbed to the rooftop in matter of minutes and saw explosions happening around.
"Hey, what about the civilians... Aren't they going to get die in the crossfire?" I ask
"Don't worry about it. They've all been informed beforehand, and they've left their homes. They've been provided with shelter in the second base of Hollow Arthas" Ravenna answers
"Isn't the Hollow Arthas supposed to be a secret thing?"
"Turns out, they've known of its existence but they were thinking it was just a conspiracy theory. They probably still do, but who cares. They're safe anyway" Ravenna replies
We move from rooftop to rooftop and the streets were empty. We've been passing for minutes and the sun was fully down. We head towards the exit and seems no one has left yet. The explosions have gone quiet, but the sounds of battle can still be heard.
"Guys, don't you find this kind of weird?" Razz asks
"What is?" Dom asks
"There's no signs of any gems escaping. I think we should check out one of the hideouts" he replies
"Right, we'll do this in groups. Athelstan, and Razz. You two will go to the nearest hideout and check out what's happening. The rest of us still stay and continue to patrol the area" Ravenna says
"Understood" Domotraus and I reply
We both moved and went to the nearest hideout. There were knights on the ground along with some gems. They're all dead. We enter the building and see blood splattered around the walls. The magic circle was right in the entrance, and it was active. A gem was in the middle standing, and mortally wounded. He raises both of his arms and the whole room glowed red. The man standing still bleeding out from his wounds, started bleeding out even more. He screams in pain, and his whole body turns into blood. All the blood around begin to move to the center of the magic circle and form a large entity. The blood begins to turn into a large armored humanoid being. Having a spear and a skull helmet with tentacles coming out from behind the skull helmet.
"Summoned from the darkest depths of the Abyss, I come and answer the call to kill take life from all" I could hear this telepathically
The large armored humanoid's skull helmet glows red eyes and it points it's spear at us.
"Speak out your name. The Master of Cruelties demands to know it's victims" he telepathically says out.
