Chapter 7

About a week has passed since the job interviews.

"What if we get hired by both places?" I asked.

"Well, then either we can turn one of them down or if we get lucky enough somehow be able to work both," Kyle said with a smile on his face looking up at me from his current position on the couch.

Kyle and I were just lazing around like most days when we're just chilling in my living room when my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked noticing it was an unknown number. There was a pause and I was about to hang up before I heard.

"Hello, this is Cordelia from Mosh Moshi Cafe. I am the manager and by chance are you Lauren?"

"Yes, that is me." I suddenly felt a surge of energy go through me. Excited to find out if I got the job or not.

"Yes, we are wondering if you would be able to work Fridays from 5:15 to 10:00 and weekend shifts during 11:15-1:30 and then 2:00-6:30."

"Yes, I can when do I start?" suddenly Kyle's phone rang and he excused himself before walking into the kitchen.

"We were hoping this Friday but you can also start next week as well."

"This Friday will be fine. Thank you so much for this opportunity." I say extremely giddy that I got the job.

"Of course we are going to have to train you before then. When are you free to stop by?"

"If you wouldn't mind if tomorrow is fine."

"Alright, then tomorrow at 9:30?" she asked.

"Ok thank you so much. Have a nice day." I said before she hung up. "Kyle you will never bel-" I was mid-sentence before I remembered Kyle was on a phone call. I waited for him to finish. He walked over with the biggest grin on his face and was about to speak before I got another call. I muttered a sorry before walking into the kitchen.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is there a Lauren there?" I heard a foreign voice with a slight French accent.

"Yes, that would be me, sir."

"Fabulous, I am happy to say you have gotten the job at Sepherone's. If you are still interested your shifts will be Mondays from 6:20-9:00. Wednesdays from 3:00-7:15 and on weekends from 8:30 - 11:00?"

I was about to cry because of my luck not only did I get both jobs The shifts fit perfectly together. "Yes I can, when do I start?" trying my best to keep my composure.

"Next Monday. I assume I'll see you here then. Have a nice day."

"You too," I said before hanging up and running to kyle before tackling him to the ground in a hug.

"Woah there careful now you might break something or more like I might break something." He said before laughing and patting me on the back. "So why the sudden affection? Have you finally realized your undying love for yours truly?"

"Ha, you wish" I snorted his narcissistic side was showing. He can be almost just as narcissistic as my brothers and that is not a good thing. "But I got both jobs and I can work both." I almost screamed.

"Really?! That's amazing I got the Saphrone's job but I guess not the cafe one." He said before pouting. I know he was probably just being sarcastic and over-exaggerating I decided to play along.

"It's ok maybe you were just too good looking and you would steal the show and the other butlers would get stuck in your shadow if you worked there." He immediately lightened up and he almost snapped his neck to face me. I'm surprised he didn't snap it.

"I KNEW YOU LOVED ME. I KNEW IT." he said with a look of triumph on his face. He looked like that one kid who had just won the spelling bee.

"Sure, believe what you'd like you big baby now come on get up let's go play some basketball," I said before getting off him and holding my hand out to help him up.
