How To Fly 101

Henry tried all the tricks he could including the butterfly style to make himself slow down and fortunately, he did but he was quite a frightening distance away from any mountain peak. He sighed in relief then looked around to make sure that nothing would slam into him.

"Alright, Hen, you got this, 10000% concentration, nothing more," he pumped himself up. He then started to cooperate with himself, imagining himself inching to the left and he started slowly floating to the left. Overjoyed, he imagined himself going down and it was as if luck just left him, he started plumetted down, gaining speed as he fell. His shouts filled the sky, his hands sprawling, trying to grab even the air for assurance but it was all futile. He then saw he was going straight for a building so he closed his eyes as he imagined the world of pain awaiting him. But, all he hear was thudding succeeding each other then silence. He slowly opened his eyes and saw the ground was just an inch away from his face. He was floating horizontally from the ground! He then strained to look up and saw the hole he made through every floor till the one he was on and imagined the owners were going to be livid. He needed to get away and just as he thought of that, he shot upwards with blinding speed, smashing though the floors once again till he was in the sky.

"I need to control my emotions. I need to control my emotions. I need to control my emotions," Henry told himself and then, he stopped flying, just hovering in the air. He nodded to himself then calmed himself down.

"My emotions make my powers act up in order to save me so I need to make sure that they do not go haywire or it might be a disaster. Now, for this new powers, flight. I need to know how to control myself as I fly, how to steer, stop or even accelerate to never seen speeds. First, build up the momentum," he educated himself. Slowly, he started inching forwards, increasing his speed little by little till he was going about eighty miles an hour. He grinned to himself as he looked at the ground below him changing in scenary.

"Next, how to steer myself. This might be the second trickiest part," he told himself. He willed himself to turn right but the speed in which he was turning was so slow he might as well just hover and turn around and to make things worse he was still flying so the turn radius was quite huge. It's like an old truck trying to take a sharp bent while going at one hundred and eighty miles and hour.

"Okay, that was horrible; let's improve at that," he told himself then started flying with the same speed.

When he got to a certain distance, he willed himself to turn right but he was still going with the forward momentum so he crashed to the ground, leaving behind a large ditch that showed he was there. He did not give up on himself as he patted himself off the dust and went back to the sky. The flying and crashing went on for the whole night and the ground was a testimony of the hardworking he was down for it looked like a canon fire fight. But, he had gotten the whole crux of steering himself that he could do a 90° and a 180° without even wasting a second. As the sun rose up, he smiled to himself as he went to the most tricky and probably the most nerve wrecking thing of all; braking.

Basically, braking is just stopping without letting the forward momentum to continue carrying you forward. On the ground, one has friction due to the ground and the action, reaction force to help. But in the air, he had less friction and even less action, reaction force so he had to find a way to stop himself from flying completely and suddenly. So, he started another round of self torture, only that it didn't hurt at all. By half a day, he had gotten the crux of things. The thing that was letting him fly was his mind. He could feel a filament like energy cover all his body and that was what was making him defy gravity, atmospheric pressure and other scientific laws. Basically, as long as his mind was fine, he would be able to fly.

Using that as the foundation, Henry continued his braking lesson and he figured out that he can stop just as sudden even if he was going in Mac speed. He could accelerate even more swiftly and his turning made him look like he was dancing in the clouds. He landed next to a lake and started laughing at this development.

"Basically, I gained some kind of telekinesis. That army man said my mutation is full body enhancement. My body was enforced till it can take falling from such height at neck breaking speeds without even feeling it. My muscles were enhanced for more power and speeds with durability and my stamina is just insane. My eyes were enhanced so much they became ridiculous to the point of seeing through solid objects and producing lasers to fire from them. My brain was enhanced that I became telekinetic but I can only use it on my body and even that is very heaven defying. Next I think my heart will be so powerful I can kill with a heartbeat! The scary part is that I got enhanced twice and each time I grew like four times as powerful as the last time. It might not sound scary but it is. 2×4=8 but 2000×4=8000. The higher my enhancement the more power I will be getting! Soon, I will have to move out of the planet because my breath alone may reduce someone to mush. But, that is if I continue getting enhanced. For now, let's continue making that one eyed bastard happy," He flew back to the sky and sped back to the base.

"You did a good job, Henry. You captured an even bigger fish than the man we were looking for," Fury said. Henry frowned at this.

"He wasn't the man we were after, was he?" he asked.

"No, but he is a very wanted criminal all over the world. Just by catching him you have earned quite the number of admirers from approximately sixty four countries," Fury consoled him. It did feel good to be appreciated but he had still not caught the man they were after.

"What about our target?" he asked.

"We warned the Canada authorities regarding the man so it is their problem now. So, I have decided to get you a new combat trainer," Fury said then the door opened and Henry saw a red head woman walk in wearing some tight fitting combat clothes, a weapon belt with two pistols on both her hips made the away of her hips quite hypnotic. But her eyes were quite hard and they seem to be scanning him. Henry could smell the scent of sweat on her as if she was on a hard training session before she called over.

"This is Natasha Ruminoff and she is quite the fierce fighter. She will be teaching you combat till she deems you worthy," Fury told him.

"But I am stronger and faster than her," Henry told Fury.

"Never assume you are the only powerful being on this Earth. There are other mutants like you who can lift oil rigs with one hand and still be able to catch up with you. So, there is a need to learn combat," Natasha told him and Henry heard a tinge of hate in her voice. He wondered when he made this woman made but it did not even cross his mind. He just shrugged and followed her to the dojo.

"Okay, she me how you can punch this dummy," she said as she pointed at a combat dummy. Henry nodded then went next to it. He took a deep breath in then punched out. Before Natasha could tell him to stop, the punch arrived at the dummy and in a second, it was blown into smithereens but that was not all. The wind generated from the punch continued forward and laid devastation on the whole base, leaving ruined walls and floors till the last wall and then proceeded to turn a helicopter into scrap, luckily noone was in it. Natasha looked at the destruction in horror and regret.

"I have my work cut out for me, it seems," she said with a disheartened sigh.

"Sorry, I held back as much as I can," Henry apologised but it seemed like he did critical damage to Natasha who seemed like she had lost her soul when she heard that.

"W...We are going to work on controlling your strength first," she said as she got out through the gaping hole on the wall. Minutes later, she came with eight trays of eggs. She handed him one egg. "I want you to sqeeuze the egg with both hands but the egg should not break at all."

"You are gonna need more trays of eggs," Henry told her.

"I got some guys to bring two truck loads of them," she assured him. Henry nodded then started his training.

It did not go well at all. Natasha was looking at the man boy covered with egg yorks and shells with a smile on her face. Earlier in, she had to flee from the place he was learning how to fly with he greatest speed but even the shockwaves of his crash landing were making her feel unwell, as if her organs were about to be squeezed. She did manage to run away the first time but the bastard then came to where she was resting and crashlanded, making her almost blackout. She had to run away again, at greater speeds but the shockwaves were becoming even more dangerous. It wasn't until she saw a road did she sigh in relief. She took a car from a poor owner, stuffed her in the back and sped away. This was the closest she ever came to dying and the sad part was that the culprit was not even going for the kill. She got trauma from that that's why she told Fury she would like to train the man boy so that he could control himself better. Seeing him covered in eggs was almost worth it, until she saw the bill.

"Bastard gonna bankrupt us before he manages to even crack an egg," she swore as her bad mood returned. They were now on the fourth truck and any effort she tried to make him stop or atleast 'get some rest' was thrown out of the window. She came to know he was a perfectionist in things he did and that trait might have been fine on others but to him, it meant the organisation was going to incur some huge setbacks that it was terrifying! But on the second day, her relief grow no bounds as he finally managed to not crack the egg even when he squeezed so hard a small shockwave happened. Just to make sure, she gave him nine more eggs and sure enough, he had grown accustomed to this.

She then went ahead and gave him some wood and told him to just leave cracks on it with a punch. They got a lot of wood and it they didn't, they would just take it from a lumber somewhere but mercifully, it only took him four hours to finally master the required strength to do that. She gave him an aluminium foil next then told him to punch it without breaking the foil. He did that in an hour and she was quite pleased to know he seemed to be knowing how to reign in his strength. She gave him a metal rod next and told him to turn it into a cube in exactly one hour without relaxing, not one second more or less. Henry managed to do that after a day, mostly due to timing but he did. Then, she handed him a melon and asked him to poke it with his finger without destroying it. He accomplished that within a few minutes.

"The purpose of those exercises is to let you know how to reign in your strength. You cannot punch a human with the same force you use to destroy rocks and you cannot hold a baby with the same force you can squeeze a mountain. Now that it seems strength logic is ingrained into your brain, time to teach you combat moves," she said. Henry nodded at this. "But first, we need to get out of the building least an accident happen." Henry scratched his neck sheepishly as he followed her out.

...................................

I am generally surprised this book is doing well. I was not expecting such a turn out that's why I have been laced in the updating. Anyway, I would like to remind you all that the MC is just a thirteen year old boy and whatever he goes through in SHIELD will mold him into what he will become in the future. So, he might be gullible now, as any kid coming from a loving and protected home would be, but he will mature. To those who will argue that he was a leader when he was young, that was a defense mechanism to those who bullied him because of his Lesbian parents. This is the grown up world, not the kids squabble. I will not make him suddenly have brains to outsmart a spy that has been in work for half his life. That's just unrealistic. For the harem sect, I have to disappoint you all. I do not even know if he will have a love interest, shit will go crazy later on. Anyway, have a good day/night.
