Chapter 42: Found Him

N A O M I

A groan escaped my dry lips as the light slowly peeked through my eyelids. To escape the brightness, I slowly made my hand rise and cover my eyes. With this, I heard several squeals and familiar voices around my bed. As my blurry sight recovered, the worried faces of my friends greeted me.

"You're finally awake! This is the second time you are hospitalized this month so you better take care of yourself!" Alexa scolded me with eyes full of relief.

Lia and Rhea hugged me as a couple of sobs escape their mouths, while Thea watched with a satisfied smile. I gently patted their heads with my weak hands and forced a smile to comfort them.

"How long have I been out?" I asked, forcing myself to speak even though my throat feels dry. It even hurts a little, but it doesn't really matter.

"Just a few hours or a day? I don't really know," Alexa answered.
