"I don't know? Ask her out?" Giselle asked like it was obvious.

"I don't like her in that way."

"Do you ever like anyone, Percy boy?"

"Sure I do. Just the right ones," he glanced at the girl sleeping on the couch and glanced back at the table quickly again. "Anyway, I can't get out of my job right now okay? So I don't have time for dates or girls or college or any of that. Did any of my actual friends check in?"

"Nope."

"Oh," Percy nodded. Maybe they thought he would return soon. "Okay, thanks. How have you been doing?"

Giselle caught him up on a part of her life and parties that had happened the past week. Soon, she said, "Oh dad wants to talk to you. I'll give the phone to him."

'I knew it,' Percy said under his breath as he waited to hear his uncle's gruff voice.

"Hey my man."

"Good afternoon," Percy said. Better to just get this over with.
