Chapter 6| The First Snowfall

A month and a half later

"Is this the girl Romeo was talking about? A tall man standing in front of me said.

He wore a long black trench over his fully black suit with his arms sticking out not in the said sleeves. His snow-white hair covered his right eye and that only assisted in giving himself a dark presence.

What was he going for? Trying to make a fashion statement or something?

For someone all dressed up and stern-looking, he didn't look much older than me but he kind of scares me a little.

I'm currently tied up against my will and surrounded by a ton of port workers and the coat dude. You're probably wondering why I'm in this predicament, and let's just say that I done fucked up.

It's been more than a month since I've been kicked out of my home. I've managed to survive this long, but by barely.

A few weeks ago, my phone died and it was the worst thing ever. I didn't have a charger, so I couldn't do anything about it.

Moving around became hard and confusing. The sky literally looks the same except when it changes like 2 times. Knowing when shifts changed was impossible, and I almost got caught so many times.

Actually never mind I did get caught NOW. And one other time, but I somehow managed to knock the man out with a box of fruity gummies I was bringing back to my "home."

NEVER underestimate the power of fruit gummies. That's all.

But I thought it was too good to believe I wouldn't get caught one of these days. I think everyone realized something wasn't right and started to catch onto the possibility of an intruder aka me.

Even so, I still played smart and avoided the workers. Besides that, I was living pretty well. I was eating REALLY well, more so than at my old home. So it was GREAT right? NOPE.

The warehouse got mostly cleaned out. They were probably being shipped to the stores, so most if not everything was gone.

It's been 2 weeks, and I've barely eaten anything. The port workers did restock, but it was so little.

This leads me to where I am right now.

**Flashback**

"Should I just go or stay?"

If I leave the port for a little and come back later I should be safe for a while until I have to come back. If I stay I wouldn't have to risk myself leaving or coming back, but I'd have to be really careful of everything around me.

I'm so bored. There's nothing to do. Ever since I've been kicked out, I've had nothing to do except walk around the city and it gets really tiring. It's not like I can really do anything. I'm dirt poor and broke.

"This is so frustrating!"

Whatever may be I'll just head to the park for a little bit. When I come back I really am in of need a quick shower though.

Being that this is a port, the ocean makes it the perfect place for a quick swim. But it's been a few days since I have though. I still don't know the shifts that well without the time so I haven't gone yet. I guess I'll go tonight, it might just be something to do since I have nothing else better.

I open up my bag and find some decent clothes that weren't too dirty or ripped yet and put them on while brushing my long black hair with my fingers.

"Well, there goes my natural beautiful hair. Tangles and dirt. How great-"

When I was ready, I slowly open the door to the back of the warehouse and take a peek around. This might be tricky since it's completely bright outside.

There wasn't anyone in sight, but I know better than to just act without seeing.

I wait close to a minute to make one final scout around. And under instance, I quickly leave, close the door, and hide behind a crate.

Using whatever to conceal me, I sneakily find my way out and on the path towards the park.

Usually, the city is bustling with people, but it doesn't seem many are out. It's kind of chilly today. I guess it's just that time of the year.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a while of strolling through the park and city, I thought it might be better to go home. The sky started to become dark with grey clouds forming. It seemed like it was going to rain heavily, but it actually snowed.
"Wow, it's pretty"
I've always loved the snow and just the winter in general. The aftermath of snowfall led to beautiful pure white that stretched out for miles. It really always felt magical walking through it and taking it in.
I heard from many people that the first snowfall of winter is the most fateful one because it's a chance to meet your soulmate. At first, I didn't get it, but apparently, when you're a teenager you'll meet your soulmate once.
I always got really excited when I thought about it, even if it wasn't true.
The only downfall to it was that after meeting them, at some point they would disappear from your life for a long time before you could see them again.
As time passed, I realized I should probably head back so that's exactly what I did. I slowly went back to the port while being entranced by the white winter snowflakes twirling in the wind around me.
"There shouldn't be many people here now."
The snow only increased its downfall and the temperature of the city lessened so the port workers should have gone home for the rest of the day.
I take the same path as the one when I left and go back to my home not seeing anyone if anyone was near me.
I opened the warehouse door immediately, hoping to receive some sort of warmth I was missing.
The cold was taking over me fast and I couldn't connect to my senses well. I shouldn't have stayed out that long, but it's nothing I can do now. I'll just sleep and be fine by tomorrow.
I walk to where my small setup is in the warehouse and pull it out from its hiding.
"I'm hungry though..."
Maybe I should do a quick food check for anything.
I go into the nearby metal warehouse, without too much concern over my safety since it seemed everyone had left.
I looked around and there was absolutely nothing like most of the other times, so I decided just to call it a day and actually go and get some sleep.
I open the large door leading to the outside and before I could even breathe a large man grabs my arms and restrain them behind my back.
I've never been much of a fighter, but over the month I realized it wouldn't end well if I couldn't even defend myself so I may have picked on a few of the smaller guys and tried to use them as practice dummies.
Not a wise decision, but at least for cases like this I don't have to worry.
I bite the man's arm that was around my neck and stomp on his left foot.
He immediately releases me from his grasps which allows me to hit him behind his head causing him to pass out. I looked around and saw that he wasn't alone and brought his buddies to join them.
There were about 5 fairly tall, bulky men and it looked like they could really do some damage if I weren't careful. I thought about running for a quick second but registered that was not an option since they probably could catch up to me in a heartbeat.
Guess I got to deal with them too. How troublesome. First I don't get my food, then I get my sleep time disturbed, and now we got idiots A-E lined up over here. What kind of story is this?
The first guy ran up to me trying to punch me, but I just dodge it and hit him in the back of the neck like the last guy to knock him out.
Two more guys ran up to me and tried to attack me from both sides, but I just did a 180 turn kick on their asses. They both fell to the ground clutching their faces which made me almost laugh.
For a bunch of gangster looking dudes, they got less pain-tolerance than my 92-year-old grandma.
The other final two dudes had a shock in their eyes, but they instantly shook it off as soon as I looked back towards them.
"Are you gonna stand there or fight me, cause I'm sleepy as hell and I kinda wanna go."
The two looked at each other and without a second glance charge forward. I step to the side and they both end up falling on the ground.
I walk up to them and hit them on the back of their necks and soon they fell to sleep.
"Damn I'm tired now. I might have to move my home since it's close by. Whatever, this is too much to deal with right now"
I moved my legs in an attempt to go and run back to my base, but the exhaustion piled onto how cold it was outside didn't prepare for the sneak attack.
I was once again constrained by this time two men and I couldn't escape no matter how hard I tried moving around.
They tied both my arms and legs up and then threw me harshly to the ground.
A few seconds after my capture, all around me were surrounded by port workers coming from the alleyways made between the warehouses.
**Flashback over**
So that leads me to where I am right now.
"Yes sir, she's the one that has been stealing many of our resources and knocking out all of our men."
"I heard from Romeo that someone was being a nuisance around here, but I didn't think it would just be a little girl." said the tall snow-white-haired man.
Little GIRL?! Do I lOoK lik-
"Case is solved now. I'll send you to him since he wants you. You'll get your punishment when you're there."
Who is this man? And what is this punishment?
I knew if I ever did get caught it wouldn't end well, but this sounds way worse than I originally thought.
"Who are you?"
Why did I talk? I'm so dead!
"Me? I'm Light. Light Sinclair."
