Knock Knock
"What the hell?" I say groggily.
Knock Knock
"Shut up," I say a little bit louder.
I'm just trying to sleep, yesterday has been so hectic. After being dragged around till midnight really made me so tired. So whoever it is GO AWAYYY.
The door to my room flings open and my blanket gets thrown off way too far for me to go and grab it again.
"Get up or did you forget that training starts today." a voice said.
I slowly opened my eyes while shivering in the process. Light appears through my vision standing in front of my bed with crossed arms.
"You better be grateful I'm spending some of my free time doing this so get up."
Ugh iT's not Even 8 am.
I close my eyes for a few seconds before pushing myself to a sitting position.
"Fine... give me 10."
I sluggishly stand up and head to the bathroom while breaking out in a couple of yawns.
As I turn around to close the door, The boy dismisses himself from the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
10 minutes later more or less
I enter into the small living room wearing somewhat sportswear that Riku gave me before with a few other clothes.
I notice Light peacefully sitting on the couch sipping on a cup of tea.
The fragrant aroma drifted around and gave me a sense of calmness that I haven't truly felt in a long while.
He noticed my still self just stand and stare through the bedroom's door frame and decided to speak up now that he knew I was here.
"You're done. Here sit down and drink this quickly so we can get going," he says.
That's a surprise. I didn't think he'd do that. It's probably just nothing but,
"Thank you" I reply as I take a sip from the steaming cup.
After a few minutes of silence and me trying to drink up fast, I emptied the once full cup and we left for one of the vacant training rooms that's in this part of the base.
There were quite a few of them and they were all full of men and even women. They looked really scary. Most of them were unbelievably huge covered in piercings and tattoos, just what you would imagine the average criminal.
"See this room here? These are private quarters for executives and some high-rank members, You'll be training in here whenever" Light states.
We go in and I can tell it's already way bigger than viewing it through the glass in the hallway.
"First things first, I want to see how good your fighting skills are for myself," Light says.
"Wait, you want ME to fight YOU?"
"Yes."
He's joking, right? He's got to be kidding. Well, I have to hand it to him, he's pretty gusty to wanna fight me. He saw me fight yesterday, shouldn't he be a little scared. I hope he knows he doesn't have a chance. I've taken on men three sizes bigger than still wipe out their asses. I looked at him and he wasn't exactly scrawny. He had a nice built from what I could see, but that didn't scare me of the outcome. He looks just like a big talker, but no game type of guy.
I'll just say 'told ya so' after I beat him. He better be prepared.
"Well, you're asking for it."
Standing a little way away from the tall male, I prepared myself in a single stance that breaks as soon as I charge for him in a sprint.
What the hell? Why isn't he moving?
Completely unfazed at my race towards him, the boy just stands there expressionless.
When I reached right in front of him I abruptly stopped and spin kicked him to the face.
I thought it would hit and do some damage, but in actuality, my leg was grabbed in the midst of the attack with a single hand of Light's. I looked up at his face and his blank expression transformed into a slight smirk when our eyes met.
Before I could think and free myself, he stuck his foot behind my leg on the ground and slightly kicked causing me to trip and fall to the ground.
OW! What the hell?!
"For someone able to take down our men, with no trouble at all you aren't as good as I thought. It doesn't matter though, as long as you listen to me and do what you're told, we'll fix your issues."
"Well I'M SORRY if I'm not much of a fighter. You already know, but I only recently learned defense. I needed to protect myself from being caught."
This guy is pissing me off...
"That's what the training is for. For you to not suck." He says standing with arms crossed and a stern expression.
"Since you don't know anything about gifts we'll save that for later. For now, we'll work on combat. After that, I'll teach you how to fire at the range...And then, possibly on her gift. Maybe till then, I should tell her about it soon so she understands." He says mumbling the last part.
"So what am I gonna learn first?" I ask while picking myself from the ground padded ground.
"You're going to learn a few starting techniques, that require some common sense so if you have any it's probably best to use it now."
EXcUSE mE...
"Alright, the first thing we should work on is that jump kick move you do. You do it pretty frequently right? he questions.
"Yeah, it's easier to get more targets out and if I'm lucky I can hit a vital part in their neck to make them pass out," I say confidently.
"That's good, but your approach is wrong."
"How so."
LESSON 1:
1. Never charge head first
2. If you do charge, then turn your body as you turn to their side. Basically, when the target is standing straight forward you should be able to turn and have your back face their side at the midpoint of the attack.
3. As you are turning, use the momentum to make your kick stronger than you could have before when you stood still.
4. This method also increases the percentage of you who can hit a target's weak point and knock them out.
"Like I said bring your common sense, but you look like you lost it all." He sighs.
"I think I have..."
"Fine, let me just show you." He says while walking away.
A door in the corner of the room opens which Light enters and leaves with a training dummy.
He carries it back and places it in front of where I'm standing.
"Think of this doll as your target. In this case, I'll have you charge. Do the same as you did when you fought me. Go straight up to this and then stop." He tells me.
I do what he says and charge at the doll for a few seconds before abruptly stopping as I did earlier.
"Good. Now the next thing you want to do is turn clockwise if you want to attack from your left and counterclockwise for your right."
He demonstrates how the attack would look by repeating his moves to what he said.
For a few times, I just tried it and it came pretty easy since it was just running and turning.
The last part that I needed to learn was the actual kicking and let's say it was hard to get down.
Sometimes when I spun I wouldn't go all the way and end up falling away from the doll, and the other times I went too far and ended up crashing into the doll.
"You're getting the timing wrong." He states.
No shit
"Try again and I want you to count. As soon as you stop in front of the target I want you to count for a few seconds. Try to align yourself with the time and distance and then the problem should be solved."
He puts his hands on my shoulder and gently pushes me to stand back in front of the dummy. He gave a three-second countdown before counting again. His hands never left my shoulders as he pushed me around and tried to help me get accustomed to precision.
And after 20 minutes of his help and an hour of practicing, I got it down perfectly.
"For your first lesson, you did well." He says
Yayyy is it over I'm beat.
"Now I'll teach you 5 more, but only once. I want it to be perfect by tomorrow morning okay?" He strictly says.
HUuH? Mentally just dies.
