chapter 8: outside the city of wind (aden).

2:30 pm

outside of the city of Mondstadt

As we started to make our way to the city i could not help but smile knowing that i had scored some loot from inside the chest, and yes there were some weapons and coins in the chest as well.

As we were outside of the city of Mondstadt i could see a bridge that leads to the beautiful city's entrance.

"So this must be the entrance to the city, I hope there is a place for me to rest in after all the running and walking," I thought to myself.

As we were on our way to the city, Paimon spotted something tasty and cooking as Amber, me and Aether saw it as well.

"What's that...? It smells so good!" Paimon said as we all nodded and started to walk over to Lynn from the adventures guild.

"What should I cook next...?" Lynn asked to herself while thinking of what to make next as she looked at the 4 of us.

"Oh are you 3 travelers from around here as well?" she questioned as we all just smiled at her and wanted to see what she could cook.

"No, we just happen to be passing by. *sniff* *sniff* What are you cooking? It smells good!" Paimon asked in curiosity.

"I see. Welcome, travelers!" Lynn said smiling as she introduced herself to us, "I'm Lynn, the survival expert of the adventurers' guild. As you can see, I'm experimenting with some new recipes.' she said while I grabbed the survival guide and had a look as the fire was going.

"Eat before you go," she said as I started looking at the page that had the first rule on there.

'The first rule in the "Wilderness Survival Guide." Lynn said as she smiled while I looked at one of the rules and spotted one.

"Wash the burn every day with a mild soap and water. Don't use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, which can slow healing. Gently pat the burn dry after you wash it. Apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment or petroleum jelly on the burn." I said as I looked at the rule in the book which caused Lynn to nod as she saw my hand.

"Mild soap and water are over there." she pointed as I nodded and walked over there while Lynn was cooking us something.

"A picnic! Oh, Paimon just loves picnics!" she said with excitement as she continued, "My travel partner here is good at cooking as well!" She confirmed with a smile while I started thinking of eating paimon.

"I can only cook a few simple dishes..." Aether explained as I came back to the group hearing the conversation.

"That's okay, Let's see what you can do!" she asked in a curious tone as I sat down with a drink of water in my hand and a Lenovo android tablet in the other as I was writing a diary entry down.

"You won't get a lot of chances like this to learn from a survival expert!" she explained as I looked at some of the food that we were going to have while finishing up my entry and turning my tablet off.

"There are some Mushrooms and meat in the barrel over there." Before she said another word about what we were making, I was already on it as I walked over and handed it to Aether who smiled at me.

"Thanks, Aden," Aether asked as I nodded while receiving a head pat, "You are welcome," I said in return as we started cooking stuff up.

2:40 pm

"Is it done? Mmm... Smells good!" Lynn asked as if curious to see how it tasted as both me and aether nodded.

"Let me try..." she asked as she took one and decided to bite into it, "Hmm..." she said as she knew that she was loving it.

"Now that was really tasty! You two are indeed gifted!" she said as she smiled at the both of us.

"Thank you." we both said as we were happy with the outcome.

"Paimon told you so!" she said as a smile was on her face as Lynn nodded, "With your culinary skills, you should try more difficult dishes," she informed us as we both nodded and agreed with her advice.

"Oh I've got some raw ingredients in my bag, Have them in return for this meal." she said as she gave us the raw ingredients in her bag.

"Can we really have them?" paimon asked as i jumped in, "yeah i mean won't you run out of ingredients?"

"That's okay. You should be able to find lots of ingredients when exploring the wilderness. Don't forget to look carefully." she said as I nodded and looked around to find nothing interesting.

"There is also a restaurant in Mondstaadt known as Good Hunter that sells food, drinks and ingredients. Go have a look when you've got the time." she smiled as i nodded.

"Okay, thank you for the info. *gasp* Hey! Leave some chicken-mushroom skewers for Paimon!" she demanded as she saw me snag one on the go.

"And that is inside the city right?" i asked.

"yes." she said back as i wrote it down on my notes.

3:00 pm

We started sitting down and getting something good to eat, and that is when Amber spoke up.

"So Aden, tell me about yourself, Where are you from" Amber asked me as we ate which caused Paimon to answer the question for me as the conversation went like this.

Paimon: "Well Amber, let me be the first to say that Aden is not from this world, and he also is an ex-hospital patient."

Amber: "An ex-hospital patient, can you tell me What happened." she asked in shock as if she was now curious when she turned her head and looked at me.

Aden: "Well glad you asked that question, You see I have a shunt in my right neck which I was born with by the way, and that shunt goes all the way down to the right lower area of my stomach." I said as I pulled up my shirt for the 3 to see my scar, "Oh yeah I have birthmarks as well." I informed them as they looked at me in surprise.

Amber: "Wow." she asked in shock as she looked at me and I nodded.

Aden: "Now about that ex-hospital patient part Paimon mentioned, yes I was a hospital patient and that was in the years 2014, 2017, and 2021." I explained as I told them the setbacks I also had when I was in the hospital.

Aether: "You must have been through hell, but I am glad you made it out." he asked proud that I had gotten through the ordeal

Aden: "Well I had to go through hell To be the person I am today." I asked smiling since it was the right moment to share more of my story.
