Eighty Seven - Fighting Alone

Adian's POV

Stunned, I stare at the three of them listening to the news, I least expected to hear in my today!

Putting my hand out to Bas, "my keys" I said, getting more impatient by the second.

Shifting awkwardly, "man, let me just explain what happened" Bas starts speaking, putting his hand in his pocket.

Ignoring him, "my keys" I repeated, waiting as Bas unwillingly releases my keys into my hand.

Taking the key from his hand, I walked upstairs to my old room to retrieve my wallet and my phone. deciding out of habit to tell mom that I'm leaving but I'm not mentioning that Hailey's not here.

As I pushed her door that was slightly opened, I stopped when I heard the whore, called Hailey's name out of her filthy mouth.

"Hailey will walk away, but if she doesn't? Then what" she says and I heard my mother's immediate response.

Laughing, humorously, "Oh she's already gone. Adian will see that she is crazy and he himself will commit her to a mental institute, leaving everything to him" mom says, as I stood outside her door horrified.

"He didn't fall for the spiked drink, how do you expect him to trust me?" the whore asks mom and I'm wondering now, what wicked device does she intend use to make me trust her.

"By losing all trust in Hailey, of course" mom, my mother whom I trusted above all, mom laughs as she plans to destroy my marriage. "You know Adian, he has not backbone and will eventually allow me back into his life when the girl he claim to LOVE" mom stresses, "fails him." mom pauses, "that's when you will come in, making sure your shoulder is available for him to cry on" mom advises the whore, leaving me shocked to my core.

Not wanting to hear more, I walked away, planning to make sure that my first stop, is Knox's office, to sign my shares of Sullaknights over to Hailey Knights.

I called Knox and informed him that I would be at his office soon, to wait on me.

When I get outside, anger still raging because of the conversation that I just overheard and that Hailey is on the run again and this time we have nothing in place to track her. I meet by my father, Basil and Mel waiting by my vehicle and it's only because of her and what her husband put her through, that I am holding my temper around them.

Mel approached me first and with a sad apologetic smile, "Adian, I'm so sorry that Hailey left. When she heard that you had left, she was shocked and hurt but then she seemed fine and in control of herself. It's my fault!" she exclaimed tearfully, putting her arms around me, "I'm the one who persuaded Bas to give he some space to rest because it was too late to hit the road. I didn't know she would run." Mel sobs against my chest.

Glaring at Bas, because he knew that there was a possibility of her running and I'm f***ing mad. Hugging her, I gently pushed her away. "I have somewhere to be right now. I will call you guys later" I moved towards the driver side of my vehicle already detaching myself from those around me and I want it to continue that way.

Uncaring that I may be leaving Bas and Mel stranded, until Bas hit the hood of my SUV, going to stand in front of me, blocking me from going forward.

Glaring at him, "do you need a ride?" I rolled down the window and mocked him. If I'm alone with him right now, I will beat the s**t out of him, because he is Hailey's bodyguard and he lost her. He lost my f***ing wife.

Enraged, I pushed open the door and stormed toward Bas, my hands already fisted. Punching him square on the jaw, before punching him again on his left jaw.

I punched him three times, before I realized that Bas wasn't fighting me back. I stood in front of him, shaking from anger, needing to lash out but realizing Bas is not the cause. My brilliant wife once again was able to give us the slip.

"What the hell is going on here?" I heard mom shout, with the stench of something decaying that the whore usually wore, on the other side of the car.

Still shaking with anger, I walked around to the passenger side of the car, "drive" I mutter, as I walk past Bas, who was twisting his neck and rubbing his now redden jaw, where I punched him.

My mother followed me as I pulled open the door, "where are you going?" mom asked, turning to look at Bas, who was opening opening the back door for Mel to get in. "Why were you two fighting?" mom asks, holding open the door, before I could close it.

Bas was already behind the wheel, "drive the f***ing car!" I barked at Bas, because if I remained there a moment longer, I would choke my mother, my own f***ing mother to death.

Waving to my father as we drove out of the compound, I notice my mother starts pointing her finger in his face, no doubt doing what she does best. Verbally abusing my father, something I also plan to put a stop to.

With my eyes still observing my parents in the side mirror, "Knox's office" I instructed Bas, who was still rubbing his chin. I refuse to be apologize.

Hearing rustling behind me, I caught sight of a nervous Mel and starts chuckling at her expression. As our eyes met, "so you guys are good now?" she looks at Bas then back at me.

Observing Bas. whose focused on the road ahead, "always" I smiled, looking away from Bas to her.

Knox was waiting patiently at his office when I arrived signing the papers.
