Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty Five - Ryan's Feelings!

When Adian ended his call, he resumed typing on the laptop in front of him while Caleb works on the tablet he held in his hand, both men paying no heed to me.

I knew his call from David Sullivan's lawyer concerns me but I have to wait while they work on whatever they're working on, that's so much more important?

Sighing heavily, I slid off the sofa and walked out without saying a word to my husband and his PA.

The kitchen's now empty with Emmy nowhere in sight.

I found her with Ryan in the entertainment room watching an episode of Sofia, chuckling as she relays every scene as it occurs, to Ryan who is obviously a novice to Sofia the Princess.

Instead of sitting beside them on the long sofa, I sat on the floor in front of her, apparently invisible since she continued chatting as if I wasn't even there.

Leaning my head against the sofa, closing my eyes intending to relax as I reflect on the purpose of Mr. Gussippie's call, fearful of the possibility that something could happen to David Sullivan or his case because of my actions earlier.

I haven't verbally said it out loud, but I am fearful of the incident at the gym having a negative impact on the case and the lawyer called to say , just that.

I'm still unsure how I feel about seeing him again but I owe it to him and I owe it to myself. I don't think I fully believe what I saw on television and deep down I'm already setting myself up for disappointment.

Opening my eyes, I turn to stare at Ryan from lowered lashes. The corners of his eyes creased with laughter lines as he listens of Emmy's hilarious descriptions about the boy name Gaston!

I've never gave much thought to it but Ryan was just as much a victim like my mother, the both of them being betrayed by their spouses.

Ryan always portrayed a happy front, even though the sadness that reflected from his eyes, told another story. It must have been hard to remain in a marriage with someone who betrayed him this way, or did he not know?

Out of the four victims in the middle of this, only two survived!

My thoughts transfered to my mom and my baby brother whom I lost and just as instantly, I remember, the baby I lost.

The baby, we lost!

Adian and I have so much to talk about, including our loss with my mind now returning to our recent romp upstairs.

Unwilling to be kept in the dark about anything revolving around David Sullivan's case and my input in it, I stood up annoyed and blushing.

"Is she good with you?" I asked Ryan, concerned that he's stuck with Emmy because I'm preoccupied in my own mind.

Staring at Emmy whose eyes and attention are glued to the television screen, "yeah, she's entertaining me, so don't you worry," Ryan assured me.

Ruffling Emmy's head, "I'll be in Adian's office" I told him, then walked briskly to the office, where Adian and Caleb, was still engrossed in what they were doing.

With my knuckles against the open office door, I knocked rapidly, my eyes on Adian's bent head.

His head lifted, his brows furrowed, which disappears when his lips turn up with a sexy seductive smile, when his eyes fell on me.

"One question" I said, still standing firmly at the doorway.

Leaning away from his bent position over the desk, he sat back on his office chair, with folded arms and stared at me quizzically. Even Caleb stopped what he was doing to watch me with a mischievous smirk.

"Aren't you coming in?" Adian asks with the same seductive smile, that's beginning to make me weak causing me to hold on firmly to the door, before I clumsily slip, if my knees give way.

Remaining where I was, "one question." I reminded him, raising my eyebrows to stare at him indifferently. God I hope it's working because if he continues staring at me this way, I will have to put Caleb out and experience office sex on a desk for the first time in my home.

Chuckling, "question away," Caleb laughs as if he senses that I am sexually aroused just by my husband's smile.

Embarrassed, I glared at Caleb, "leave," I ordered him, folding my arms but leaning against the door for support.

Spinning his chair, to face me, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Not happening" Caleb retorted, "you guys kept me waiting for more than an hour while you were fooling around" Caleb smirks, pointing upwards. "I'm not coming back in here to cleanup any mess you'll be making in here." His smirk disappears and he now glares at me, "so ask your question and stop making googly eyes with my boss." Caleb orders without even blinking.

Blushing, I lift my eyes to see Adian chuckling softly.

My face red, I turn and ran out, hearing Adian and Caleb calling after me but I can't believe what Caleb just said. Did everyone believe we were having sex upstairs, while they waited on us downstairs.

I headed back to the entertainment room where Ryan sat fiddling with the remote control, with Emmy propped against some cushions, fast asleep.

Smiling I sat on the other end, putting her feet on my thighs.

"She wore herself out," I laugh softly, watching Ryan as he continue to browse through the latest movies.

"Can I ask you something?" finally getting the courage to speak about something that's disturbing me, although I have never had this discussion with Ryan before and I am not sure what Adian mentioned to him.

Ryan stopped scrolling through Netflix, pausing he turn to nod at me, his expression guarded as he wait for me to continue.

"Do you want David Sullivan to be released from prison, after the way he betrayed you?" Ryan turns, deep in thought.
