Chapter 11

As the group traveled from realm to realm, Crystal could have sworn they were being watched.

Her friends would tell her that she was seeing things, but Crystal knew that somebody was watching.

One day, she saw a figure in the tree. She jumped back in fear and knocked Ash onto the floor.

"What is it?" River asked.

"Oh nothing." Crystal lied.

As they traveled through the fire realm however, Crystal saw these figures more and more often.

"Crystal, I know I said this before, but what's wrong." River asked.

"Nothing River." Crystal said brushing it off.

River raised an eyebrow, "Oh really?"

Crystal laughed suspiciously.

Ripple and Breeze both looked behind them.

Crystal looked around, paranoid something was about to happen, little did she know, something was

A figure jumped between Ash and Icy.

Ash tried to attack but the figure dumped a bucket of water on him.

Ripple fired a hot jet of water.

The figure dodged it but revealed his face.

Crystal gasped, it was someone really familiar, but where had she seen that face?

River tackled him to the ground, "Who are you?"

"She killed my friends, she doesn't deserve to live!"

Crystal realized who he was the fire mage from Blaze Academy. "What are you doing here?"

"The Governess said that we would be spared if we killed you." The fire mage explained.

Ash raised his hands, nothing happened.

Crystal raised her wand, "Go to hell!"

The fire mage fired a giant fireball at her.

Crystal countered with a burning blue ball of light.

They collided and exploded sending everyone flying backwards.

The fire mage almost fell off a cliff, but Crystal caught him.

"Why are you doing this?" Crystal asked.

The fire mage smirked, "The Governess doesn't want you to ruin her plans, now I'm going to make you remember me forever."

The fire mage grabbed a rock and took out one of Crystal's eyes.

Crystal shouted and the fire mage fell to his death. On his way down he screamed "They're coming, run while you can!"

Blood spattered everywhere.

Her friends ran to her aid.

"What do we do?" Icy asked.

As everyone panicked, Ash took out something from his pocket. It was a black eyepatch with an emblem of the Original mage, a wand and all the elements surrounding it in a circle.

"Put it on, it is said to have magical healing powers." Ash said, handing Crystal the eye patch.

Crystal put the patch on and the blood immediately stopped flowing out of her empty eye socket.

"I see what he meant by something to remember him by." Crystal groaned.

Ash smiled and hugged her, "I'm so glad it actually works."

"Wait, you didn't know?" River gasped.

Ash shrugged. "No, why?"

"Are you crazy, you could've killed her." River screamed.

"No, she probably would've used her wand." Icy said softly, still hiding behind Breeze.

Crystal looked around, "Well this will take a while to get used to."

As they traveled, Crystal kept bumping into things.

It happened so often that Ripple and Icy had to stand in front of her and guide her.

They ran into more bounty hunters but made quick work of them.

River kept staring at Crystal's eyepatch.

"What's up?" Crystal asked nicely.

"It just feels weird, seeing you like this."

"Oh." Crystal sighed, River would never get used to this.

The others decided to take a break near a waterfall.

"I've noticed that these in-between areas are nicer than any of the realms." Breeze said.

Ash and Icy nodded in agreement.

Crystal raised her wand as River threw rocks into the air.

Crystal shot a blue wave of light that made the rocks explode.

"You still got your aim though." River laughed.

Crystal put her hands on her hip triumphantly.

"Show-off," Bliss said quietly, "Why does she get more magical powers than the ones who are actually called the magic mages?"

Crystal aimed her wand at Bliss, "Do you want to prove yourself?"

Bliss pumped his fist into the air, "All right, you're going down!"

They faced each other, standing on opposite sides of the lake.

"On my count, three, two." Breeze said.

Crystal whipped out her wand and a boulder appeared on top of Bliss.

Bliss laughed, "Pathetic!" He raised his hands into the air and the rock turned into a bunch of flowers.

Crystal raised her wand and shot a blue jet of light towards Bliss.

Bliss countered with a wall of water.

Crystal gave him a look of disgust.

Bliss shot purple spikes towards Crystal.

Crystal used a huge boulder to deflect them.

They flew every which way.

Breeze flew up into the air and caught them, "Careful now, don't bring us into this."

Crystal raised her wand and closed her eye.

"You got this." The wand said.

Crystal groaned, she had forgotten the wand spoke.

Bliss shot a purple laser towards Crystal. "Give up Crystal!" He yelled from across the lake.

"Not on my watch!" Crystal made stones appear from the lake making a bridge, she crossed it but when she looked up, Bliss was gone.

"Look out!" Breeze screamed.

A giant griffin swooped in out of nowhere and took Crystal by the arm.

"Crystal!!" River called.

Crystal looked to her right.

There was Bliss, struggling to free himself.

Crystal gulped, where was the griffin taking her?
