Chapter 18

As the group walked through the dark realm, Crystal noticed that Cal and Breeze were having more moments.

Ash had to keep reminding Breeze that Cal was only here temporarily.

Breeze obviously didn't care, which Ash found super annoying.

Crystal knew that Cal had a rather dark past so she was worried that he might draw Breeze down that path as well.

Crystal had to ask, " Cal, how did you become the Scarlet Viper?"

Cal gulped. "Um, you see I."

Crystal urged him on hoping that he would finally reveal his secrets.

"Fine, when I was five my parents were at a riot, I was too chicken to go, little did I know that would be the last time I saw them."

Crystal was so interested, "you're a great story teller, continue."

'I was on the run, stealing things from people, robbing houses and murder. I was found by the Stardust Guild who took me in and trained me to be a weapon of death."

Breeze gasped, "that's so cool."

Cal laughed. "Anyways, as I got older, the guild started to have some problems."

"Problems, what kind of problems?" Breeze asked.

"Financial problems, the guild was also one of the biggest hotels in all of Japan."

"What's a hotel?" Ash asked.

"What's Japan?" Bliss said, scratching his head.

"Oh, nevermind." Cal said taking his watch and putting in the numbers five two six four nine.

Somebody appeared on the ground.

It was so sudden that everyone jumped a bit, well except for Cal.

"Cal, is that you?" Said a voice.

"Hey Ava." Cal said.

Breeze sighed in disappointment.

"Guys, this is Ava Suzuki, my sister." Cal said.

Breeze's face lit up.

Ava had sleek black hair and small eyes. Her hair was done up in a ponytail and was dyed a dark purple.

"So Ethan was saying you and Nathen were blasted here for some odd reason." Ava said.

Cal's face turned white. "Nathen's here?"

"I'm sorry, who?" Ash asked.

"That's none of your business mister." Ava snapped.

Ash looked taken aback.

"Ok, then your majesty." Ash said.

Ava gave Ash a look of disgust and handed Cal a small circular device. "Take this, don't lose it."

"Wait, what's this for-"

Ava hopped back into the portal before Cal could finish his sentence.

"Wow, that was rude." Crystal laughed.

"Yeah, but now we know that this fight has gotten worse." Cal said.

"How?" Bliss asked.

"My arch nemesis is here, and if I know him well, he's working with your Governess." Cal said worried.

"He can't be that bad." Crystal said.

"Oh he's bad alright, just imagine your Governess with the skills that I have." Cal gulped.

"Nothing you can't handle." Breeze said sweetly.

"Cut it out Breeze." Ash groaned.

"Whatever." Breeze said dismissively.

Crystal noticed something moving in the trees. "Bounty hunters?"

"Where?" Ash lit his hands on fire getting ready to strike.

Cal placed his finger on his watch. "Not bounty hunters, assassins."

A figure jumped down from the barren trees and drew a red energy sword.

Cal's armour covered him. He drew his katanas and charged towards the figure. "Give it up Nathen!"

Nathen deflected Cal's swords with ease.

Ash threw a fireball at Nathen.

"Nobody messes with the Cyber Assassin.

"That's really unoriginal." Breeze said.

Nathen smirked. "Oh really, and who are you?"

"She's my acquaintance." Cal said nervously.

"Acquaintance?" Breeze put her hands on her hips.

Cal shrugged. "What else would we be?"

Crystal noticed that Nathen was about to strike. She whipped out her wand and blasted Conner away.

"You'll pay for this!" Nathen shrieked.

"So long buddy!" Cal laughed.

Crystal sighed with relief. But she knew that the Governess was going to be hard and they would need to be ready. "Cal!"

Cal turned his head. "Yes?

"Train me." Crystal said.

"Wow, talk about being demanding." Ash said.

Cal shook his head. "I can't, my training is a sacred piece of the stardust guild."

"Then how did Nathen know it?" Crystal asked.

"He was one of the guild members." Cal said. "He was the only person who could defeat me."

"Obviously." Bliss scoffed.

Cal's suit disintegrated. "I'm sorry Crystal, I can't."

"Fine, how about if I beat you in a fight, you teach me your ways." Crystal said slyly.

"But then if you beat me, what's the point?"

"You'll see." Crystal smirked.

Cal raised his fists. "I won't fight with my weapons."

Crystal fired a blue bolt of light.

Cal dodged and threw a small stone.

Crystal used her powers to fire the stone the opposite direction.

"Oh come on!" Cal groaned.

Crystal smirked. "Is there anything wrong with my form?"

"Well, your wand technique looks pretty good, but you missed by a, hey!"

Crystal fell to the ground roaring with laughter. "Oh you fell for it!"

Cal rolled his eyes and walked away slowly
