Chapter twenty

"We have come this far to talk about our daughter and your son . I'm not interested in supporting the idea of my daughter being a single mother. After all ,we all belong to the same clan and I'm with high hopes that this issue won't turn out to be deadly .

I'm Taylor Swift Keynolds and he is my husband Ricochet Keynolds !

We came in peace and we demand you to set an alliance between your son and our daughter because she won't live out the disgrace alone!

You know this saying , "The evil that men do live after them but the evil that women do live in front of them !"

We are from a reputable family and we have earned societal respect over the past few years .

I don't want society to mock my daughter after her pregnancy becomes visible to all!"Taylor ; Xandria's mum added anxiously .

"Mum ! I don't want to marry Xandria because I don't love her ! What happened between us was a mistake ! It should never have happened !

Mum ! I will take care of the child but I won't marry Xandria !"Hardy said desperately .

"You must be joking Hardy ! If you think I will carry this burden of disgrace and shame all by myself !"Xandria angrily uttered .

"What do you want Xandria ?! I thought you said you will support my decision no matter what !

We never agreed on marriage so why now ?!"Hardy asked .

"Well ,we are both liars Hardy ! You will have to marry me no matter what , because I won't accept taking care of this child alone!

Aunt ,you should convince your son to marry me no matter what because he has got no choice !

Liza already knows, and trust me ,she wants nothing to do with a liar like you !"Xandria said with a smirk on her face .

"The alliance is fixed and the wedding will be held this Saturday at Liwanag !In place of Liza , Xandria will be the bride ! My decision is final !"Drew said standing up to his feet .

"Drew ! Are you serious about this ? Can't you think about your son's happiness for once ?!"Peyton retorted against Drew's decision.

"Peyton ! "The one who plays the piper dances to its tunes !"

So our son must take responsibility for his actions!

That is my final decision and I won't retract my statement !"Drew angrily walked away from them living them in a dilemma .

However , Xandria's face was covered up in smiles while that of her parent's were of satisfaction .

"Liza , I'm back ! Where are you ?!"Clinton asked throwing his eyes about .

"I'm right here Clinton ! I was enjoying the cool breeze from the river . I must admit that this cottage and jungle is one coolest place I have ever been.

At least ,I have taken my mind off certain troubles !"

"It's alright Liza, you can stay here as long as you want and I will be here to protect and keep you company !"Clinton assured her with a smile .

"You have done a lot for me Clinton and I know that I'm indebted to you for everything !

Thank you Clinton !"Liza patted his shoulders with a smile .

"It's enough already ! Come and let's eat .

I know you are starving to death ! Hehe !"Clinton teased .

"Why don't we have breakfast at the bank of the river, it's gonna be fun ! "Liza suggested .

" As you wish ! I will get some crockery and cutlery from inside so go ahead !"

"Don't forget to bring a blanket !"Liza added with an eye .

Liza and Clinton together set up the place as if we had planned on an organized picnic.

"Allow me to dish out the food !" Liza told Clinton.

"By the way ,do you know how to dish food ?!"

"No Liza ! I don't , but I will learn from you !" Liza chuckled starring at Clinton .

After dishing the food , I asked what it was made of because I had never tasted it before and it seemed a bit continental .

I guess only wealthy people could afford this ,I thought .

"It's Crouton !" He said. "It is a small piece of fried or toasted bread served with soup or used as a garnish . It is better eaten with soup ! I learnt this recipe from my dad .

He said it was one of my mum's favourites !

Why don't you have a taste !" He said .

"It's delicious ! "I said stuffing it into my mouth.

" I told you so Liza! "

"You should try my mum's recipes as well!

She is a good cook and you would never want to miss out on her cooking !"

"Oh really ! I think I should try it out since you are praising it a lot .

You miss her right ? "Clinton asked with a giggle .

"Yes !" I said without hesitating ."But we both need sometime to settle our thoughts out before we meet each other.

I don't want to see her now ,maybe later !"I explained .

"Have these !"

"What are these ?"I asked.

"They are cantaloupes .It is a round melon with orange flesh and very sweet !"

"It looks juicy and succulent !"I said having a bite .

"Let me pack these !" I said clearing the blanket .

"Don't worry ! I'm used to doing these simple chores but I know you aren't since you have been bred in wealth from childhood.

Again ,you are a male and I know you will feel lazy to do such things !"I said jokingly.

"Did I say something wrong Clinton ?" ,I asked as his facial expression had changed .

"No you didn't babe ! Actually ,I was just thinking about something really weird and impossible !"He said with a calm tone .

"What is it ?"I asked inquisitively .

"I will tell you but not now !" He said helping me fold the blanket .

"Don't guess wild babe ,because it's nothing terrifying !"He said with an assured smile.

"Care to swim ? "He said taking off his T-shirt and jumping into the river .

I loved swimming but I had no swim suit .

"Just wear my T-shirt and come swim with me!"

I changed into his T-shirt and jumped into the river. The cool breeze carried by the waves of the rivers kept me cold ,chilly and relaxed .

"Enjoying the swim ?!"

"Yes!" I said .

He smiled coming more closer to me .

"I thought you said we can just be friends "I said tugging my hair behind my ears shyly .

"I know but I don't think we can be just friends , Liza!" He called out my name rubbing his hands on my cheeks as we both kissed and cuddled lovingly .It was the best feeling of my life .

"What were you thinking about earlier ?"I asked .

"Thinking of starting a family with the woman I love . But I know it's impossible !"Clinton said pulling my cheeks .

"Who do you love most in this world Clinton ?!"I asked rubbing my hands on his chest .

"Myself !" He said simply .

I was surprised with his answer but I made no feeling of doubt on my face . I smiled at him giving him an impression that I liked his answer .

After dressing up ,I was thinking about Clinton's answer of he loving himself .

I thought he was about to say ,he loved me more but I was wrong. I became kinder disturbed .

"There's no need to be disturbed about my answer !"He said turning me around to look into his gaze .

"Trust is the foundation of love and I won't break that trust ,babe !

Everything I say is nothing but the honest truth . It's better to know the truth than feel betrayed .

Liza,I love you and that would never change !" He said embracing me in a tight hug .

"Your T-shirt ,thank you for lending it to me !"I folded it back nicely .

"It belongs to you ! It looks better on you than on me !"He said .
