Chapter Three

"All rise for the honourable judge !"The court clerk said as usual and we paid heed .

Today was really going to be a tough day since it was the last hearing of the case .

The defend attorneys did everything in their power to intimidate me but I built confidence and faced them .

"The prosecuting attorney may now present her arguments to the court !"The judge said .

I quickly got up swiftly and heaved a deep sigh of relief before proceeding with my arguments .

"Your honour ! With your permission ,I would like to to present my first piece of evidence of the court .

This is a video from the security cameras at the Lacozy hotel.

The incident took place on 8th July of this year exactly at half past five in the evening in room 223 which was registered under the name Bill Smith . On this particular day ,my client went to pay a visit to Bill since it was his birthday .

She went there with a piece of cake and that to,decently dress .

From the video recording ,it can be clearly seen that ,the accused Bill Smith took advantage of Bliss' presence and dazed her .

Your honour ! I can say confidently that Bill raped my client taking advantage of her vulnerability .

We all know that a man who takes advantage of a woman's vulnerability is a coward and should be punished severely !"

"Objection your honour !"Attorney Eva Locsin rose to her feet .

"Objection overruled! Attorney Blaire ,continue with your arguments !"The judge said .

"Your honour ! This is my second piece of evidence .

From the laboratory ,the bottle containing the liquid which was used to daze my client was tested and proven to be positive .

Your honour ! This liquid is given to patients when undergoing surgery to put them in a deep sleep !

It is therefore proven that ,he committed such an atrocity against my client!"I stated confidently .

"Your honour ! The prosecutor's evidence has been tampered with! It can just be anything which has been forged to ruin in my client's good name !

My client is a respectable person in our society and cannot commit such an atrocity against any woman!"Attorney Eva Locsin interrupted angrily .

"You will have your chance to make your arguments ,attorney Locsin !

Attorney Blaire ,please proceed !"The judge took charge .

"Your honour ! Yesterday , the accused Bill Smith , denied all the charges against him and accused my client of seducing him even after taking an oath to not lie to the supreme court of our land!

Your honour ! That was a lie ! The evidence for the case was kept hidden in order to save him from going to jail. A large sum of money was paid to hinder this truth !"

"Objection your honour !"Attorney Eva Locsin said .

"Objection sustained ! Defend attorney ,what do you have to say ?!"The judge asked .

"Your honour ! Attorney Blaire is making up false statements against my client and I will request her to retract her sentences because she has no evidence to support her argument !"Attorney Eva Locsin said firmly.

"Your honour ! I would like to bring my first witness to the stand; Doctor JC De Vera .

She is a laboratory specialist at Caste Hospital.

She was bribed by attorney Locsin to keep the test results hidden for the sunstance used to daze my client .

"Objection your honour!"Attorney Eva Locsin objected yet again .

"Objection overruled!"The judge said .

"Your honour ! I would like to call to the stand my second witness , Doctor Max Emiliano of Seed Feel Hospital .

He also kept the evidence showing the violent marks on the hands and face of my client !

Since my client was forced into the act ,she got body marks which were not ordinary .

Your honour ! The video recording proves it and the images on the paper clearly shows it!

Your honour ! My third witness is Senior inspector Dwayne Copos . He also hid the most vital part of evidence in the case .

Your honour ! In my hand is the bedsheet on which the act was committed .

It contains the semen of Bill and blood of Alexa .

Your honour ! The senior inspector sent it to the forensic lab after three days of the incident to get it tested .

He claimed he had a lot of work to do and that is why he sent it late .

The forensic reports show that Alexa was indeed forced into the act .

The blood stains on the bedsheet clearly shows that Alexa's cervix was broken by force .

As a result ,blood was oozed out in the process.

Your honour ! It is Bill's habit to commit such atrocities against women !"Attorney Blaire said in anger .

"Objection your honour !"Attorney Eva Locsin objected angrily .

"Objection overruled !You may proceed attorney Blaire !"

"Your honour ! I would like to call on my fourth witness and a victim of the accused to the stand .

She is in the person of Lacey Evans ."Lacey was interrogated and everything she said didn't go well for the defence attorneys .

"Your honour ! As a victim of Bill Smith ,I plead with you to let justice prevail !"Lacey said before taking her seat with a shrug and anger at Bill Smith who sat down arrogantly .

"I have my last witness , Wendy Corona . A victim of the accused ,your honour!"

She gave her statement and also sought for justice .

"Your honour! These victims were afraid to stand up against the accused because of his wealth .

However ,every woman has a voice in our state and that voice should not be intimidated and that is exactly what the accused did in this case !

Your honour! The accused has been found guilty of all charges and should be punished for justice to prevail !

I rest my case !"Attorney Blaire took her seat with a smirk on her face directly in Attorney Eva Locsin's fuming eyes .

"Do you have anything to say Attorney Locsin ?"The judge asked .

"I still stand by my word to defend my client of all the charges,your honour !"Attorney Locsin said before the court went on recess .

"It's not over yet attorney Blaire! So watch your back!

You're trying to bite more than you can chew !"Attorney Eva Locsin threatened . "Attorney Locsin ! If you are so sure of the innocence of your client then there is no need trying to intimidate me !"

The media rushed to the scene and began to interview the attorneys .

"Attorney Blaire ! What do you think will be the judge's verdict on this case ?!"One of the media persons asked .

"I'm hoping for justice to prevail in this case . Whatever the verdict may be ,I hope it's fair!"Attorney Blaire said confidently .

"How do you feel contesting against great defence attorneys on your first time at court ?!"

"I feel free and confident !"

"What would you want to say to the general public watching you this day ?"

"The media is a great influence to society so I would want to use it as a platform to tell the people out there that ,it doesn't matter about the status of the person ,whether rich or poor ,they would need to pay for their misdeeds.

Again ,I would want to urge women to voice out and fight for their rights and freedoms !

Have a nice day !"Attorney Blaire walked away from the media persons .

"What do you think about the case, attorney Locsin ?!

Are you sure that victory is on your side ?"

"I have won so many cases and this wouldn't be an exception !"Attorney Eva Locsin said confidently .

"But attorney ,we have the information that you paid people to keep the evidence hidden for the case ,is it really true ?!"

"The truth will be out once we deal with the case and the judge passes his final verdict.

Until then ,we can't be sure that my client is responsible for all these charges and I'm guilty of all these heinous crimes I'm being accused of !

Excuse me !"Attorney Locsin walked over to her client ; Bill Smith .

"Attorney ! I need to get out of here as soon as possible !

I don't belong here!"Bill Smith angrily said .

" I know but all the evidences prove otherwise .

I'm trying my best but now , I've even been dragged into this issue too !"Attorney Locsin said gritting her teeth .

" Why did my dad pay that money ,huh?!So that you would come and let that nineteen year old girl win over you ,huh ?!

I don't care what you have to do but you have to get me out of this case !

Offer the judge any amount,I don't care but I can't stand the breath of this place !

It stinks !

I need to get out of here as soon as possible!

If I remind you again then , it's your head that will cut everything short !"Bill Smith threatened .

"Mrs .Bliss ! I assure you that justice will surely prevail in your daughter 's case!

Trust me !"Liza assured .

" Attorneys may now give their closing arguments!"The judge said .

"Your honour ! After all the evidences and testimonies presented to the court today ,it can be seen that they all go against Mr .Smith!

Your honour ! He takes advantage of young girls and get unpunished because of his wealth !

Your honour ! Justice must be free and fair to all ,whether rich or poor !

Again,your honour ,apart from my client 's case , Lacey Evans and Wendy Corona are victims of the accused so I plead with you to get justice for them !

Attorney Locsin bribed various people to keep the evidence incriminating the accused ,Bill Smith hidden and so she should be punished!

Corrupt attorneys like her shouldn't be the reason why people will lose in justice !

Your honour ! Rape tarnishes the image of every girl in society since her dignity is questioned and my client and other victims of the accused need to restore their tarnished image in society!

Your honour ! Today ,all women in our state and beyond are waiting for justice to prevail and I hope it does!"Attorney Blaire gave her closing statements after which Attorney Eva Locsin added hers .

"After hearing both arguments ,i have decided to pass my verdict on the case. Any abuse towards women is against the laws of the state and this case is not an exception.

Rape in article 36 of the 1967 constitution of the state should be severely punished if one is involved .

From the evidences and testimonies presented in the court today ,Bill Smith is found guilty of all the charges against him.

Therefore , I sentence him to twenty years in prison !

Considering attorney Blaire 's plead , I hereby sentence Bill Smith to twenty years in prison respectively for Wendy Corona and Lacey Evans' case.

Bill Smith will totally serve sixty years in prison for the crime of rape against Alexa Bliss ,Wendy Corona and Lacey Evans !

I sentence Attorney Eva Locsin to five years in prison for the crime of bribery and tampering of evidence for the case!

Doctor JC De Vera , Doctor Max Emiliano and Senior inspector Dwayne Copos are here by sentenced to twelve months in prison and suspended two years from their various jobs for incriminating important evidence for a case .

On that note ,court is adjourned!"The judge passed his final verdict which Attorney Blaire was really satisfied with .

The joy on her face was not explainable especially since it was her first and major case .
