Chapter seven

It's been three days in this empire without setting my eyes on the supposedly woman who happens to be my biological mother .

I thought about it and decided to finally meet her .I needed to settle all the scores with her and end this mess in my life .

"Jean ! I 'm ready to meet her now ! "I said heaving a deep sigh .

"I know but not like this Liza ,you must adorn yourself in riches before you go before her .

Your mother is the head of the coven so you must embellish yourself before her !"Jean said and with a single clap of her hands , a group of maidens came in and decked me up .

After they were done ,I looked like a sculptured bride or some kind of empress.

Everything I was wearing was quite expensive though . From head to toe ,I was adorned with diamonds and this was rather unusual of me but I had no choice .

"You look gorgeous Liza ! She will be glad to see you dressed like this . Let's go !"She said holding me by the hand .

After a while ,we were in a room which was very large and furnished as well .

"There she is ..!"Jean said pointing at the woman who was comfortably relaxed on the sofa .

We happen to have dressed up in the same manner .

Basically ,I was looking at my reflection through her .

"I will leave you two alone to talk !"Jean said patting my shoulders .

"I'm outside ..!"She said with an assuring smile .

Someone needed to break the silence between us ,I thought as I made my way to comfortably sit on the sofa . It was very soft and bouncy .

She was really enjoying this life ,I thought as I took a sip of the apple juice on the table .

After staying in the empire for three days and been treated like a princess ,I developed confidence and assumed they couldn't harm me in any way .

I behaved confidently so as to not raise suspicions because deep down ,I was shivering .

"It 's time to settle scores ,Corazon ! I'm ready to hear you out now !

Since childhood ,everyone has given me a different version about my identity and now I'm standing here because I know you are the last person to truly tell me who I am !"

She turned and looked at me with a regretful face .

"Liza ! "She called with her soft voice . I could sense sorrow within her voice .

" I know you have been through a lot in life , my dear .

I would understand if you would want nothing to do with me after you hear what I'm about to tell you !"She said wiping off her tears .

"Corazon ! I have heard a lot of things in life that has broken me down completely !

I have shed tears about secrets and betrayals and now ,nothing surprises me anymore !

I don't know what you are about to say ,but what I do know is that ,no matter what you say to me ,I will hold on to my courage and fight my fears till I have reached out to happiness in my jeopardized life !"I said with all my guts .

"I know that Liza ,because you are not only beautiful but courageous as well and my greatest mistake was to let you go !

I could have defended you but I didn't .I could have sacrificed for your sake but I failed as a mother and I never stopped paying for my mistake till today .

When you were born ,I handed you over to Elisa .

I asked her to take care of you and protect you because I knew I couldn't do that for you.

When our ancestress got involved with an alien , a spell was cast on her and that spell descended to her generations.

I know you were told that she was banned from our clan but the truth is ,no witch or wizards could be banned from our clan .

It was forbidden since her mother was the head of the coven at that time .

She left on her own will to stay with aliens .

Aliens and witches were not in good terms ever since then , so their relationship was not accepted by the elders of our clan .

However ,she came back with a plea to allow her descendants leave among humans .

Witches were very powerful ,therefore ,they had great charming beauty which could kill any human upon first sight .

Aliens were not powerful enough to allow their descendants move into the human world ,take their form , and take up professions of their choices .

However ,witches and wizards could do that .

The elders accepted her plea and cast a spell upon her which has descended to her generations and until date ,they are living with that spell.

So far ,three alien witches have been stuck in bed for ages for getting involved with humans and popular among them is Hazel Tangles ,mother of Clinton Brown whom you have fallen in love with!"

I couldn't say a word because i knew she already knew the whole story since she was a powerful witch and could see and disguise herself anytime she wanted something .

I also wanted to get to the roots of the issue .

I was doing all this for him .

"For witches and wizards ,we were supposed to get engaged to sorceress ,sorcerers and shamans since we were all in the same clan .

We were also forbidden to get involved with humans since humans tagged us with using our powers to negatively influence their society .

They threw us away from their world as well as aliens .

Humans thought that we had been faced with extinction but hardly did they know that ,we had spread amongst them in different forms .

I got involved with a human and out of that love ,you were conceived !"I still said nothing .

"Liza ,my grandmother was the head of our coven which meant that I had brought unto her , disgrace and shame !

In our clan ,it is forbidden to abort a baby since we needed to expand our beings .

After I conceived you ,my grandmother gave you over to Elisa who was a strumpet at a casino .

I had no choice since that was the only way out .

She cast a spell on me so specially for me ,I couldn't get stuck in bed like others .

If I ever went near you ,then your father and you would die .

I couldn't take the risk of losing both of you since you both were the most precious people in my life so I accepted and allowed you to go .

My grandmother gave you to Elisa because she badly needed a child of her own and since she couldn't have one ,you replaced her lost hopes .

Alien witches who were strumpets could not have a child since it was forbidden to bring forth a child living such a lifestyle .

Though she was an alien witch ,my grandmother trusted you in her care .

She raised you with her love and care .I saw how she pampered you when you were a kid ,the sad thing is that ,I could only watch from a distance since I couldn't get anywhere close to you.

Your dad used to send money to her every month just to fulfill your needs and make sure that ,you lacked nothing because he was also cursed .

If he ever set his eyes on you ,you would die .

After Elisa went to jail ,your aunt Goodie took care of you .

She is your father's cousin but she had to keep it a secret for your own good .

We could only see pictures of you sent by Goodie but we could not get anywhere close !"I listened to her story unabatedly .

I was surprised that you could enjoy so much benefits if you were related to the head of the coven .

Corazon couldn't get stuck in bed because of her grandmother's position and instead ,curses were rained on her !
