Chapter 36- A Surprised Look

--Alexandria POV--

"Really?" I asked and he nodded, taking another large bite of his pastry.

"Don't lie to me," I suspiciously narrowed my gaze at him. "I'm being honest," He defended and I shrugged my shoulders at him with a humourless chuckle. Tobias groaned when he realised that I wouldn't believe him anytime soon.

He was telling me a story when he went to a battle with Damien a few years ago against some sort of invaders, the battle didn't last longer than a week and Lysandra easily won but apparently during that fight, Tobias had done some heroic deeds.

"I'm telling you, there had to be at least 10 men that were circling me, they had spears as tall as trees and arrows sharper than your gaze right now-" I rolled my eyes at that. "And they were coming in on me. It looked like there was no hope and I was getting ready to say my goodbyes..." He drifted off with a sad sigh.
