No rejections.

The beta scooted closer towards his friend, feeling just a tad bit intimidated by the presence of another alpha around him. Not just any other female alpha but the one and only Valarie Davies who made so sure to ruin his all of middle school.

Ronald instinctively glared at the woman in front of them, the woman cowering very slightly because of her alpha ego.

"Your scent is very strong." He scoffed with a smile, trying to start a conversation to kill the eerie silence on the table.

"Prince. You shall address me as Prince Ronald." He said in her mind, almost startling her but once she recognized his voice, she realized she had made a mistake.

She has been making mistakes all her life. And maybe now is the time she repents for all the loses and broken hearts caused by her.

Starting with loving and nurturing her beta.

This is her only chance.

"Come here." Typical alpha behavior portrayed by the woman, but Ronald didn't mind because that is how a normal, or an alpha other than him would talk to their mates. Things would have been much worse if Daniel was an omega.

The male took a deep breath before looking at his friend who wore an indescribable expression on his face. Not even a single nod, and Daniel was already feeling like his friend had given up on him.

But, the reality was entirely different. Ronald was observing the woman, more like assessing her actions and wanting to come to a positive conclusion that she will indeed, take care of him and cherish him like he does to his princess.

Daniel took baby steps to reach to the other side of the table and sit beside her, his hand trembling slightly.

"I would like to apologize."

A smirk made its way onto Ronald's lips, his arms folding over his chest as he leaned behind.

So far, everything was falling into place without the elemental having to manipulate things. He believed it was an achievement, his soul finally laying back into peace knowing his friend will be alright.

But that doesn't mean he wouldn't respond to his friend when he would be mistreated even by a bit. He would rage over the whole world and make her regret everything she has done, good or bad.

"Daniel...I- I am sorry, first of all. I am very sorry for my actions and I would feel very delighted if you accept my apology and forgive me." She took his hands in hers and apologized, almost surprising Ronald at her sincerity.

Was she finally realizing how antagonistic she was? Was she repenting things now? Or was it all an act?

No. It wasn't.

Ronald could read minds and he found none negative running through her mind at the moment.

"Um...I want you to know about something, alpha."

"Just call me Val, Daniel. It's alright."

A smile finally made onto her neutral facade and the two boys now felt at ease. It was all alright, so far.

There is this thing. Most alphas love being called as alphas by their lower ranked mates. It was something which had to do with their gargantuan ego.

He was happy that his female mate wasn't expecting such things, because clearly, it is old-fashioned, outdated and utterly lame.

Or kinky.

"Val...you have ruined my middle school life. I hope you realize that." The sadness interlaced in his voice brought a frown over the other two's faces. He was not only bullied and beaten up almost all middle school years but he was mentally tortured by his own parents. His parents, as g and happy as they look, have a toxic mentality which affected him in his childhood greatly. Even to this date, he is always picked up on not having a job or not having a mate.

Sure, he was unlucky to get selected into job streams that he loved but blaming him for not finding his mate any sooner? That was clearly not in his hands. He can never alter the destiny.

"I'm extremely sorry baby boy." The mate bond was already created when he banged the door of her house last night, and now it was only natural and instinctive that alphas use such words to assure and comfort their partners.

She took his hands and kissed them dearly, Ronald instantly cooing in his head at the couple and getting ecstatic over watching his best friend finally getting into good hands.

He was finally satisfied. But not completely until Daniel smiles again.

"Val, my life was never perfect. I do not have parents who are as good as yours or Ronald's. I had to go through traumas and innumerable nights of insomnia because I always used to think of how to impress my toxic parents. Until one night, after my graduation, I realized I have to live for myself. Even Ronald didn't know about nothing although he has been my only friend for my whole life. So what I am actually meaning to tell is...please take care of me, Val. This might sound absurd but...my heart has turned into a thin sheet of glass which will shatter if just one, just a single bad thing happens to me. And I'm scared, Val, Ron. I'm scared I will never be able to heal it." He was almost in tears as he expressed his genuine feelings.

Ronald, on the other hand, had his jaw dropped at all the things his friend just said.

The beta was now just a little vulnerable thing, someone who needs to be loved and nursed back to proper mental health. His heart has been carrying too much grief since a really long time. And maybe, just maybe he could now live his life happily and without one single fear.

He now had his mate, an alpha female who would love him from now on, and his beat friend...who has been loving and cherishing him since day one.

He never felt so grateful to his friend up until now. Not at this intensity.

Waterworks have started and his face contoured into a painful expression as he leaned forward and cried on the table.

Ronald felt his own eyes sting at the reality thrown at his face. It was something, the bond of friendship he shared with the beta which made him feel everything that the beat was also feeling.

His empathetic self went to his best friend's side and engulfed him in a pure, warm and comforting hug. Something he was always complimented on because everyone he had ever hugged felt so secure in his arms

And Daniel was the first person to five that remark back when they were merely teenage boys, in middle school.

There it was. Everything was fine and Ronald wished it was to stay that way.

Daniel was finally happy with his mate.
