The next day, Ronald was helping the men to pack and move everything out of Daniel's room to the heavy truck. He was surprised at all the big and small things that were pouring out of the room, not expecting these many things to advent out of the relatively smaller room.
Strangely enough, Daniel wasn't with him and observe and guide the men at his house, because apparently he was out with Valarie who suddenly dropped by at his house early in the morning to take him out. Though, it is endearing how he trusted his best friend with everything whilst he was out on a 'date'.
"That would be the last box, sir." The head mover said, informing Ronald who was checking every nook and crook of the corner, still amazed at the quantity of things pouring out.
"Yeah. Sure. Thank you, man." He shook hands with the man and parted ways. Not actually, but he was following the truck in his car to his friend's new mansion to set things out in his new room.
Apparently, Daniel has chosen to live in a separate room and so, Ronald had no much trouble to set up the room in the most perfect sense, in his own style of course.
He dusted his hands off, sweat glistening his forehead and chest (under the fabric of course) as he finally bid goodbye with loads of thank you's to the men. After the gratifications and locking of doors, he collapsed on the living room's couch and morphed back into his original face.
It wasn't even a minute that his eyes were beginning to close in that the house barred with the loud sound of the doorbell.
"Oh, they're back." He mumbled against his breath, already knowing who was at the door.
Of course, who else would it be other than the new owners of the house?
"You're back home early, love birds." He mused against the doorframe, earning a face from Valarie and a punch to his shoulder by his friend.
"Don't even. We're not that close."
"Yet~" he sang behind them, closing the door behind him and skipping like a bunny through the hallways, to the living room. He found the both collapsed in the same position as he was there before and he chuckled before jumping onto his friend, literally.
"OH YOU PIG, MOVE!" he whined, clawing at his sides to push him off of his tired body. Valarie giggled at the boy's behavior, admiring how friendship would feel like for once.
True friendship.
A real friendship that didn't have fake friends or friends who took benefits if your status. She sighed and furrowed her eyebrows, standing up abruptly and briskly walking off into the kitchen.
This hadn't gone unnoticed by either of the men. When Ronald patted Daniel's back, he wordlessly meant to follow the woman to the kitchen and ask her what was wrong. And he goes.
"Val? Is there something wrong?" He couldn't help but fidget with his fingers, nervous about the answer she is about to give.
"Nothing, Daniel. I just felt thirsty."
"Okay, look. Both you and I know that you're lying right now. You don't have to tell me anything if you're uncomfortable about it Val, but please, don't ever lie to me. I don't like it." He confessed honestly. Valerie's eyes widened at what he just said, now realizing that her mate is very particular about personalities and traits.
So she better not lie to him next time and disappoint him, because that is what alphas are expected of. They are bound to please their mates and vice versa to their partners. And if they sense any lies thrown at their face, betas especially, won't hesitate to throw a tantrum and claim publicly that their alphas aren't taking good care of them.
It does sound twisted and restricting, but that is how things work in the wolf world.
No wolf ever wishes to get cheated on or even lied to by their mates. That leaves them strangled on the rope of life to the point they are restricted to breath and ultimately, they die of suffocation. And they do literally die, when their mates cheat on them but that is a different story.
Tears unknowingly pool up to the brim in her eyes as she calls his name, when he was right about to leave the kitchen.
"Dan wait!" He stops right in his tracks, sensing his alpha in distress as he catches onto the pheromones released in the air.
"Valarie?" He lunges forward and takes her in his embrace. Though being a beta, his male genes have made him taller and blessed him with the perfect height for his mate. She almost melts in his embrace, suddenly realising it was their first ever hug.
'It's just a hug, Valarie. There's nothing too big in it.' Her mind chimes in.
'But it feels so good in his arms...' her subconscious, the one which was hidden so deep for years responds to her mind's thoughts.
"Please, cry on my shoulder alpha. You've gone through too much." Daniel ensures, already having read her entire history and feelings of the moment.
And so she does.
They make sure they're both safe and sound against each other and Daniel heard his friend's voice in his mind after a minute.
"Take care of yourself and her buddy. I'll take my leave now." Ronald says and instantly, disappears from the living room to his house, a response from Daniel later arriving in his mind.
"Thank you for today and everyday, Ronnie. You're the best."
"I know I am." The best friends chuckle internally and finally slip into their own worlds later.
Daniel, once out of the heads pace, places a small kiss to the side of her head to which she squeaks.
No one had kissed her expect for her mother, not even her father who was so busy building up his reputation and being absent in the house most of the time. Her mother was such a sweet woman before everything changed.
Everything changed after she left...and after things have changed, Valarie saw herself transforming into a young lady into someone she loathed all her life. She was becoming bad, evil, cruel and disrespectful. She maintained facades and she couldn't do anything about it.
The young, innocent girl was trapped by the vicious monster who took over. She loved bullying people, and one of the delicate victims was now her own mate.
Maybe this is the chance gifted for her to change everything.
She promised to herself then.
Valarie was going to show how it is to be in love.
What she didn't know was her mate planning the same as a smile grew onto both of their faces.
