A change of scenery

A week later I was locking my doors and handing the key over to my landlord. I took the basket where Mocha was in and headed to my car. The moving company had already taken all the things yesterday itself. With a deep inhale and a sigh with an exhale I started my engine and drove for the home that I had brought in the countryside. I was genuinely happy and excited.

An hour later I was still on the road, my windows rolled down and taking the fresh air in. I was able to see the fields finally and it was starting to feel like I was going to the countryside. A few minutes later I arrived at my new home. A warm smile plastered on my face and I told myself, "Home sweet home!". I don't know why I was expecting something so grand as I entered. But anyways I was welcomed with all the boxes from the moving company and some furniture that I bought along with the house covered with white sheets.

I looked for the box that had my clothes to change into my comfy ones to get started with the cleaning cause I just feel like I stepped into a dust pile like this is no exaggeration. After 6 hours, skipped lunch and a SpongeBob eternity later the house looked like someone was living there.

I looked outside, moving the newly hung curtains to the side. The sun was definitely making plans to set after a few hours. I took my car keys and left the house after giving Mocha his treat to get some paints. It has been not even a day and I was not going to have any more of those dull beige walls. I saw a small paint store while I was driving home. I stopped there and started venturing to look for a good pastel colour. After finding a perfect pastel mint green and pastel pink, I bought what I guessed would be enough to paint the whole house. I headed home with the paint cans in the trunk as the sun was finally setting. I reached home to Mocha inviting me. I put all the cans in the living room and headed to the kitchen to grab a protein bar. Maybe today was a whole lot of work cause I could definitely feel my eyes getting droopy. I took Mocha in my arms and headed upstairs to head to the bed.

As I laid down with Mocha next to me I remembered that it's been a few days since I have posted something on my blog. My eyes were almost closed when I thought about Daniel. I hadn't thought of him for the longest time. My eyes shot open again and closed slowly and we were sound asleep.

I chuckled and laughed asking Mocha to stop walking in a circle on my tummy. This Mocha's way of making me wake up. I struggled to open my eyes from the sunlight attacking me all of a sudden. Quickly my eyes got adjusted as I gave Mocha his morning scratches and headed downstairs, him following suit. I gave Mocha his breakfast and had an apple. I went to the storage room to look for some equipment to use while painting. When I opened my eyes became the biggest it has ever been.
