It was late night, Eun Lee waves goodbye to Mari. She drops him off at the gate of the village, in front of a convenience store. He did not answer his Mama’s calls after he went on a date with Yun-Oh, as he became very uncomfortable. “You are a young man now,” he recalls Mari telling him that he no longer needs permission from his mother to do things. “Your mother will surely understand. You are no longer a toddler; you are smart and able to make your own decisions.” Eun smiles as he recalls his stepmother’s comforting words. He never understands why Nala said she was difficult to trust. As he walks home, he recognizes the car which was parked in front of the house. It was a police car. He quickly runs inside, and finds his mom speaking with them. Her eyes are full of tears, her hands were on the table, Han stands behind her, touching her shoulders. “What’s going on?” he asks. The two men in uniform turns to him and then looks at Coree. “Mrs. Lee, I guess we have no more troubles now.” Coree stands up, and runs to him. She hugs Eun tightly as she could. “Mama, I’m home. What’s wrong?” he asks as he comforts her, rubbing his hands on her back while she hugs him. “Your mother was very worried about you,” one of the officers tells Eun. “You weren’t answering my calls,” says Coree. She tells him that she had earlier received a call from an unknown number, telling her that they had taken her son. The policemen assure Coree and Eun that they are safe, tells them to lock the doors and call them once there is something strange. Han leads the two men out, and locks the door behind them. Coree then asks Eun. “Where have you been? I was worried.” “I went to school to meet my classmates for a project. I ate with them too. It was Nala and the group.” Coree raised an eyebrow. She received a call earlier, and it was from Nala. “Was it your classmate, that you were with?” Coree asks. Eun remembers the meal that he had, it was with Yun-Oh in Mari’s restaurant. “Yes, Mama.” He replied, as he turns his back on her and went upstairs. “I am going to change.” As he goes along the stairs, Han walks to Coree and grabs her hand. They both sit on the sofa, “Why is he not telling you the truth?” Han asks. Coree shakes her head and replies, “He knows I would not be happy.”
Mari closes the door after she gets inside her home, gives the bag over to the maid for her to take it upstairs to the closet. She smiles as she sees Jae walking towards her. “It’s late,” he says and kisses her cheek. “Missed me?” she asks. Jae explains that there is something that bothers him. “You remember mister Lim?” he suddenly asks as he grabs her hand and asks her to sit beside him on the couch. “Of course, I do. His wife helped me design my engagement dress.” She replies with a smile. Jae tells her that missus Lim has requested for an investigation regarding her husband’s death. “The investigation was completed, right? It was an accident, we both know that.” Jae replies quickly. “Yes, but I am worried that he had his documents in the car,” he looks at her straight in the eyes with worry. “Everything went missing. If it was an accident, the papers should have stayed in the car. I mean, who took them?” “Why should we worry,” Mari holds his face, “There is nothing to worry about, love. We knew nothing about it.” Jae tells her that missus Lim has mentioned her name in an interview. She mentioned that the files that were stolen from the crash are those of Mari So. Upon hearing these from Jae, Mari immediately went upstairs to their bedroom. Left in the living area, Jae made a call to the investigator that he spoke to, a few days ago. “Hey, any updates?” he asks. “Your ex-wife has sued missus Lim, as she accused her of stealing the design of the dress used by your fiancée. However, missus Lim is very much willing to negotiate with Coree for her to drop the case.” Jae glances up the staircase, and thought for a short while, then replies, “Negotiate, does that mean missus Lim will agree to Coree’s terms?” “As per the latest update, we found out that missus Lim will not be fighting back, instead, she wants to sue Mari for forcing her to steal Coree’s designs to use them as her own.” “What?” Jae asks with a high tone as he stands up and places his left hand on the back of his head.
