When I text Rose, she’s happy to come over and help with Ava’s room, ecstatic even. And if I thought Ethan was hesitant, Blake was downright skeptical. Truth be told, I could have been kinder to him, but he was never one to take things to heart so when I texted him, “I need help cleaning up Ava’s room. Come around five on Saturday” I figured he’d tell me off if he really wasn’t interested in coming, he’d tell me so.
Instead, he responded with a simple “fine” and that was that.
I wasn’t sure if I was or wasn’t expecting everyone to be willing to show up but here I am on Saturday afternoon with everyone lined up to come.
I don’t try to push Mom and Dad out of the house, though it would be easier if they left for the evening. Dad, I suspect would try to bring snacks and hang around, making things particularly more awkward for me and Blake. Mom, however, would kiss-up to Rose but be her usual problematic self towards Ethan and Blake.
