Rich Bruno, once a nineteen-year-old Miner, now has the opportunity to move from his poor Home City of Adlington to the wealthier Market City of Espington. He and a group of young Miners are transported via carriage to their new life. En route to Espington, the carriage is struck by a wood bomb. Several Miners are injured, a few are killed, and Bruno believes he sees a mysterious red-haired man that may or may not have been on the carriage to begin with. 
     Getting to Espington was not easy for Bruno.
     Starting a new life there will be even harder.

The Ones Who Live in Espington

Henry Hodge made it to Sayer and immediately cauterized his severed hand. The Boss Surgeon heated up his dagger and pressed it against the open flesh. Sayer screamed a blood-curdling cry that seemed to pierce the commotion around them. Anzalone moved away from the Head Guard and Surgeon as Jago took his spot. Floyd Belington stood in the trunk, staring at what was left of Tirol the Critter Whisperer. The Piner was nothing but a heap of mangled flesh and gnawed bones. The rodents, full and satisfied, seemed to lose interest in the Humvee and the men inside. They ran off into the crowd, the majority getting shot or stabbed within minutes of their departure.
