Part 9 – In God’s Own Way

Prologue

The father ran away through the escape tunnel. Moans and growls followed him. With the long sword in his hand, he ran.

Before long, he reached in front of the steel door. He quickly turned the knob and opened the door, and then he ran outside. Moon shined from the sky and stars stared at the father. A sharp moan came from behind him but he didn’t stop. He decreased his speed a little. His goal was to lead the creatures away from the bunker. For that the creatures must follow him.

And his plan worked. All the creatures followed him to the wasteland. A cold wind blew past him, whipping up dust on the way.

Suddenly he stopped running. In front of him stood a dozens of infected creatures. Their mouths were open wide, showing the stained teeth. Then they bit the air, grinding their teeth. They slowly approached the father. Father quickly swung the sword and cut down one creature in half. Other creatures stopped moving and they sharply growled.
