“He saved us,” Chira said softly and placed a gentle hand on Ada’s shoulder.

Ada only stared at the blurred vision of the fires that boogied over the horizon. It had all converged, lighting the night with its bloom. The voice of the savages still revel what should have been a speechless night, seeming to ram in one destination.

Perhaps they’ve caught him.

Ada hissed and made to pick up her burden from the cold rock. Her hands shook greatly that it was impossible for her to lift the rapped cloth. She gave in to the wobbling legs and fell like a dust on the ground. It was when the liquid dropped on her wrist that she realized the tears.

Ikedi was somewhere out there, being pursued by those barbarians who would stop at nothing but to kill and destroy.
