Chapter 25: Shopping Trip

The Hunters who took up the offer from the Lord of the House of Crystal, Yuki and Rose were walking on the streets of the bustling city including the daughter of Lord Crystal, Cecilia Crystal. The three of them only wore casual clothing fitting for the currently hot temperature.

As for the reason why there were only three of them…

"Matt already went out to take a stroll."

"What? He went by himself?" Cecilia was very surprised.

"Well it's not like he's a kid, at least not physically." Rose glanced to the side.

Cecilia sighed. "Hah… There goes the original plan."

"I mean, he never did agree to go out with us in the first place," said Yuki.

"I just thought that maybe I could repay all of you personally with this shopping trip, but if he's not gonna accept it…" Cecilia fidgeted as she floated in her imagination in worry.

"You can just buy him something and give it later, right?" Yuki suggested.

"B-buy him something? Me?"

"Yeah, like a shirt or glove or something?"

"T-that's umm… O-okay, I'll do that then. After I give it to him, then I won't feel in debt anymore."

And so, they headed out with just the three of them which led to the present situation.

"Fuu~ it sure is hot today," said Rose who wore a soft pink one piece dress with a slightly brighter ribbon wrapped around her waist as decoration. She also had a white sun hat that went well with her dress.

"Not as hot as the San Coro Great Desert, but yeah it is quite hot." Yuki wore a simple green t-shirt with brown shorts and also a black cap with her pony tail sticking out the back.

"Good thing we brought hats. At least we won't get a direct hit from the sun." Cecilia said while grabbing onto the sides of her oversized sun hat. She also wore a simple white one piece dress.

"Yeah, UV ray is not good for the skin," said Rose.

Cecilia and Yuki looked at Rose with an eyebrow up. "What's a UV ray?" Cecilia asked.

"Some kind of attack spell?" Yuki also asked.

Rose shook her head. "No, it's just a special ray that some things like sunlight produce."

"Oh… So it is some kind of spell."

"No no, it's just one of many other spectrums of electromagnet."

"... I think I just understood less than before." Yuki shrugged.

Rose sighed. "Let's leave it at that. So, where are we heading to exactly?" She turned to Cecilia.

"Ah right, it should be close by…" Cecilia looked around, searching for the objective. "Ah! There it is! Come on!" Cecilia ran ahead. Rose and Yuki followed her in confusion.

"Here it is!" Cecilia spread her arms and presented the place.

"Glade Frozen Sweets…" Yuki read the sign above the entrance.

"An ice cream parlour?"

"Yup yup! This shop serves the best ice cream and yogurt in town! Let's go inside!" Cecilia was very giddy to go inside.

"But we just had breakfast-"

"Let's go!"

Before Rose could finish her sentence, both her and Yuki were pulled by Cecilia into the parlour. Starting strongly with a cone of ice cream, while Cecilia had a huge bowl of it. Only after that did they actually start their shopping trip.

“Alright, here it is!” Cecilia said as she stood at the entrance of the huge building. “Come on! Let’s go!”

As they entered, Rose looked all around her. Observing every inch of the building. She was in awe and amazed.

“Whoa, it actually is like a shopping mall,” said Rose.

“Eh what do you mean?” Cecilia asked.

“What I meant was, it’s really similar to the ones back in my world.”

“Ah, for your information, the owner of this building IS from your world.” Cecilia raised a finger as she stated the fact.

“Eh really?”

“Yes, I think the name was… Ching Xiaoling.”

“Ching? Sounds like a chinese name. I almost can’t believe that someone from earth just went and built a shopping mall.”

“For your information also, there are quite a lot of things in this world that exist and are created by people from yours.” Yuki added.

“I noticed a few familiar things, but I never thought they were made by those people.”

“Well, it’s thanks to them that we have the things that we didn’t have before. Like that ice parlour. We didn’t have ice cream or any frozen sweets back a few decades until an old who used to make them in his world decided to restart his business here. Look how the shop is now.” Yuki kept explaining. “However, some of the things just can’t be replicated.”

“What do you mean?” Rose asked.

“Well, laws of your world don't necessarily apply to this one. As such, some things from the other side just can’t be recreated on this side.”

Rose tilted her head slightly to the side. Yuki waved her hand in dismissal.

“Well, whatever. We’re here to shop, so let’s get to it! Lead the way Cecilia.”

“Right!”

The girls visited almost every shop they came across. Rose absorbed the scenes while looking at the items that were sold.

Not just clothing, furniture, groceries, accessories or any other normal thing that can be found in a shopping mall was there but even magic items, equipment, potions and also weapons were sold by certain stalls.

The clothes alone were unique enough. There were unique designs that were meant for certain races. The short and stout ones were perfect for dwarves. Big ones with broad shoulders were for beastmen who were mostly physically larger than humans. Even the tall and slender elves had their own design.

The girls checked out a lot of clothes shops. They tried them on and asked for each others' opinion before finally deciding to buy which one.

After spending almost an hour in the shop without them noticing, Cecilia suddenly suggested that they go to the 'fun place'.

"I never thought there would be an arcade here," said Rose.

"I always go here every time I come. Come on! Come on! Let's go play a few things!" Cecilia ran in like a child.

"I thought you said she's an introvert," said Yuki.

"I thought so too, but I guess this just means she's comfortable with us?"

"Heh, I hope so. Come on, we ain't got leaving the kid alone."

The games that were prepared there were surprisingly familiar. Air hockey, basketball, pinball, shooter games and dance floor were some of the games. Witnessing all this made someone think.

…..

"That was fun wasn't it?" Yuki asked as they were exiting the arcade.

"Of course you had fun, you won all of the games!" Cecilia exclaimed.

"Except for the dance one." Yuki corrected.

"Whatever! It's not as fun if you lose." Cecilia pouted.

"Ahaha come on now, don't be too bummed out about it~ I spent five years as Hunter, you know? I have much faster reflexes than both of you and I'm a marksman so obviously I'd beat you in a shoot."

"You could've gone easy on us."

"Where's the fun if I lose?"

"Ah! You said it! You-"

"There, there. No need to fight over it. Now how about we go grab lunch?" Rose interfered.

"Oh right, I am hungry too."

"You always are." Yuki joked.

"N-no I'm not!" Cecilia while covering her stomach with an embarrassed face.

"Ahaha! Well, let's go. Ah, right, don't forget our stuff." Yuki turned around and grabbed her bags, followed by Cecilia and Rose. "Nothing's left right? Rose, you got Matthew's stuff?"

"Yes, right here." Rose lifted one of the bags in her hands slightly

"Alright then, let's go."

Cecilia and Yuki walked ahead while Rose followed slowly behind. Her mind was still thinking about what Yuki said. ‘Some things can’t be replicated… Laws of your world don’t necessarily apply to this one.’

‘This could mean a new possibility. Maybe we should study about it later. Not trusting Matt with studying though. Speaking off...’

She abruptly stopped for a moment and looked at one of the bags she had.

"I wonder if he'll like it?" Rose blushed without her noticing it.
