Chapter 48: Mind Control Spells

A few days before Matthew escaped the prison.

Chia was watching her boss reading a newspaper on a couch. Chia took a deep breath, and she approached Susan.

“Boss.” Chia called out to Susan.

Susan glanced at Chia. “Yes?”

“Can I talk to you for a bit?” Chia asked politely.

“Oh, sure.” Susan put down the newspaper on the tea table in front of her. “What is it?”

“It’s about the Noble we are investigating.”

“Mmhm, what about it?”

Chia silently took another deep breath. “I was walking around the city. Then I overheard the people saying that Phillip is dating someone. And I also think that the girl involved is under a spell.”

“Hm? What makes you say that?” Susan tilted her head a bit.

“Remember the time Nazu and I sneaked into his mansion? He was talking about his spell or something not working on a boy, right? I think that now the girl he is dating is actually under his spell, most likely a mind control spell.”
