Chapter 116: A Village's Debt pt.1

Dawn broke and the sun was rising already. Sunlight shone upon the village. Many of the villagers were being treated by fairies and traditional remedies. The Hunters were also treated.

Samon was checking on every single villager, making sure they were doing fine. Belle was hovering close to Matthew who was sitting under a tree. He barely sustained any injuries so he decided to just rest somewhere else, away from the others.

“So you decided to let them go?” Belle asked without looking at Matthew.

Matthew took some time to keep watching the villagers before answering. “Yeah. At first I didn’t agree with Yggdrasil but… He saved me from myself. I owe him that at least.”

“Still, we don’t know what they want to do with the crystal.”

“True, but I gave it some thought. They themselves don’t have anything they want to do with the crystal. Their client doesn’t want them to kill anyone. Just that alone would say that their client isn’t a bad person, or so I think and hope.”
