“Here, let me help you old man,” said Francis.
He was helping his grandfather. The old man waited patiently in his chair, unable to move even a single muscle from the waist down.
“Francis, from where did you get that money?” asked the grandfather.
“I swindled some idiots near the bar,” said Francis.
The old man laughed.
“How’s Życie? Still as beautiful as ever?” he asked.
Francis' cheeks turned a slight red.
“You should have seen her today. She was even more lovely” said Francis.
The old man smiled. It was the sad smile that came with the curse of knowledge. A smile that stood as the only honor of the deceased love of his life.
“Kid, remember, the only thing that should ever matter in this world is your own happiness. No person, belief, or thing comes close to be worthy of sacrificing it” said the grandfather.
Francis rolled his eyes.
