Kai felt like the world was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Like no distance was too far or too close. And he quickly showed the Hunters surrounding him that this was not just some mere feeling.
The Hunters that surrounded him were strong. Some of the strongest. Nowhere near the top, of course. Those Hunters Kai knew from previous interactions. They, like him, were living legends. These were some of the newer blood.
“Those are some nice eyes you got there, old man” exclaimed one of the Hunters.
Kai still looked like he had just turned 20, even though he was old. Insanely old. The Hunter that had talked had blond, spiky hair. He was wearing a t-shirt that said GET ROCKED, black pants, and white shoes that were covered with dust. There was another Hunter right next to him. She had brown hair with purple ends. She wore short paints with leggings underneath, she also had long sleeves and way too many accessories.
“Dibs on the eyes” said someone behind Kai.
Kai took a small peak towards them. Turning ever so slowly, so he only managed to look at them through his peripheral vision. They wore a green shirt, brown pants, and a green hat. Kai looked around a bit more and realized that they all had unique styles.
A man to his right was all red, while the other was all grey. The man with red at least wore black as well. And looked like a butler from hell. The man in grey simply wore grey. Nothing else. Even his eyes were grey. He looked at Kai as if he was trying to figure out a puzzle.
“The one that kills him gets his powers,” the man in grey said.
With that, they all stopped arguing. Kai could see their slight movement in position. They were getting ready to fight.
The blond moved fast. In less than a second, he was going for a kick against Kai. But Kai was even faster. In fact, Kai was instant. As the blonde missed, he heard the scrunch of a powerful fist hitting somebody's face.
“Did he just ... teleport?” asked grey.
“That’s way too OP,” said the green one.
Bending space was different than flat-out teleportation. When you bend space, you have to get ready for it. You need to be able to concentrate, no, you need more than that, you need flow. Great Hunters can do it like it is the most natural thing in the world. That is what makes them the best. But they still have to pull their punches. Teleporting is different. There is no concentration. There is no bending. There is nothing to warn you that it's going to happen. And it is way, way faster.
Kai punched the girl with the accessories flying away. The girl in green threw a giant fireball towards Kai, who simply teleported to where the red butler was. Sadly, the butler did not get as lucky as the other Hunter. Instead of being punched, Kai touched him. It was a slight touch, but it was enough. The butler was cut in half as space warped around his waist.
“Holy shit,” said the grey.
"He can also bend the space of whatever he touches," said the grey one.
"This is not going to be easy," said the blond emo.
"Tell me about it"
