"Again."
Diana and Silvanus picked themselves off the ground for the twentieth time, groaning. Fairy dust shimmered in the surrounding air like gold flakes. They kept missing the cushions and were already aching all over from the Combat lessons but Cironir didn't relent.
"Herdante, perhaps this was not a good idea." Diana conceded.
"Young lady, you asked for these lessons and they are a good idea. But both of you are going at it the wrong way." He pointed a threatening finger at Silvanus. "You are not trying enough and you," he turned towards Diana, "are trying too hard. You're supposed to repel the attack with your mind, not magic." All the reluctance Cironir had while beginning the lessons seemed to have evaporated into thin air.
"Again."
Diana and Silvanus turned to face each other with a sigh, ruing the day they'd decided to take Lectio Animo.
