"You know, what bothers me the most is the chandelier. Why try to impale the people and then burn the room down?" Syl's voice was thoughtful..... and tired. The sky outside the east windows was light gray streaked with pale pink and gold. They'd talked through the night.
"Mmmhmmm," mumbled Theia, half asleep. But Diana couldn't have slept even if she wanted to. The mysterious happenings of the palace occupied her thoughts; her curiosity was raging.
"Maybe it was to save us? I mean, we did get most of the people out of the room before it caught fire."
"But if someone knew the room was going to catch fire, why not simply alert the guards. Dropping the chandelier is far too extreme..... not to mention dangerous."
"Do you think someone was trying to protect the arsonist's identity? I mean, if they were to alert the authorities that a fire was going to happen, they'd have to explain how they knew about it."
