Invasion 5

“… Hanzo…” Dright said as he glared at the person named Hanzo. Upon hearing Dright say his name, Hanzo’s eyes widened.

“Hmmm? I’m surprised. How did you know my name?” He asked Dright, not giving in fear for the gun pointed at him, but he got a gunshot as an answer aimed at his forehead.

Hanzo dodged by tilting his head sideways. Dright no longer created a portal for the bullet as it hit a gear of the tower. He’ll let some androids and robots fix it later.

“You’re quite a rude one, aren’t you… well, no matter.” Hanzo said and locked eyes with Dright while his head is still tilted.

“Hey kid, have you seen a young girl, about the age of ten? She has red eyes and long silver hair.” Hanzo followed up.

Hearing Hanzo’s description, Dright immediately knew he was referring to Lia. Dright did not answer and just locked eyes with Hanzo. In the meantime, Dright analyzed the situation.

“This guy… I’m certain he did not have those features on his face when I reviewed his files on our intel about the Grimmers. He also looks young, too young compared to what I saw in the documents... something doesn't feel right... These people are getting too dangerous. I need to capture him and get some information.” He thought.

Dright ignored Hanzo’s question and fired off his gun once again at Hanzo’s head. Hanzo dodged with little movement as Dright expected, and in that instant, Dright created a portal behind him. He fortified his mobility with Draconius and jumped backward. Another portal appeared above Hanzo, and Dright came down from it.

Hanzo had no time to react as Dright swung down his hands and hit Hanzo with his gun's grips. It made a direct hit at Hanzo’s head.

“Tsk!” Dright clicked his tongue as he felt that he didn’t hit human flesh. It was as if he didn’t hit anything, like air. Then he remembered one of the information he read in Hanzo’s files.

HANZO ROMACROVA

BLESSING: POLTERGEIST – can temporarily turn some or the entire part of his body into air.

This information was the reason why Hanzo the Royal Phantoms couldn't catch him. There have been records of contact with this Hanzo fellow, but he keeps slipping off of the Royal Phantom’s grasps. A Blessed, utilizing his blessing for the Grimmers.

“What’s your deal?! Darn it, high school students these days sure are impudent!” With Hanzo’s head in a gaseous state, his voice echoed all over the place. Dright immediately created another portal and teleported away from Hanzo.

After Dright created some distance, Hanzo stood up straight as his head formed back into his original one. He then crossed his arms and placed a hand on his chin as he pondered on something.

“Wait a minute. Our activities have been quiet lately… which means you’re not a normal student, are you? And the fact that you know my name makes you even more suspicious… not to mention the incident last night caused by that wretched Blue Carnage… Are you colleagues with him?” Since not much information is available about Blue Carnage, Hanzo assumed that Carnage is a ‘he.’

Dright didn’t care about Hanzo’s mumbling and fired his guns at Hanzo’s left and right shoulders, and it made a clean hit, but Hanzo did not flinch. The bullets pierced through his clothes, but there was no blood.

“Tsk… annoying blessing…”

Dright cursed as the bullets stopped mid-air right after piercing through Hanzo’s shoulders. Hanzo sighed right after as he sent back the bullets to Dright with equal force. Dright countered by absorbing it with his portals.

"Answer my question, kid."

Soon after, Dright fired three times at Hanzo again and missed purposely. Hanzo read the trajectory of the bullets and didn’t move as each bullet passed by him by a hair’s breadth.

“Where are you ai- URGH!” As Hanzo was about to mock Dright, he felt sharp pain three times on his leg. One on his toe, one on his calf, and one on his thigh.

Dright missed purposely and aimed at three invisible portals that he made behind Hanzo and three others behind his right toe, calf, and thigh. Dright's strategy caught Hanzo off guard because he didn’t think Dright would use his portals in that manner, for he has too little information on him.

The bullets made Hanzo drop on his knees and laugh. Hanzo doesn’t know about Royal Phantoms since not one Grimmer reported back the incidents to him regarding the Phantom’s infiltrations on their bases. None of the Grimmer members ever survives to report back to one of their higher-ups, and to top it off, Carnage would always burn down the whole base either before or after the infiltration of the Royal Phantoms, making the whole incident look like it was all Blue Carnage’s doing.”

“Hahaha! You got me, kid! I didn’t think you’d use your portals like that…” Hanzo praised as he inspected his wounds on his right leg. All the bullets punched through a hole in his toe, calf, and thigh. Hanzo then turned to look for Dright, who should be several distances in front of him, but he was nowhere within his sight.

“… where’d you go?!”

“I’m right here…”

Hanzo felt a presence behind him but had no time to react as Dright kicked his back, placed his knee on it, and grabbed his hand as he locked Hanzo’s movements on the floor. The moment Dright’s bullets hit, he created another portal that connected to the dimension behind Hanzo.

“You’re going to come with me, mad scientist…” Dright whispered in monotone as he applied more pressure on his prey. Hanzo laughed weakly.

“Hahaha… take it easy, kid…”

As Hanzo lies face down with Dright holding him down, he caught the scent of someone familiar.

“Hey, kid… I smell the scent of Project Oblia in you… so you do know something about her…” Hanzo said as he smirked while being under pressure.

Confused as to how Hanzo knew, Dright applied more pressure to him.

“I don't know what you're talking about…” Dright said with a cold tone.

“Hahaha, you can't fool me. I can smell Oblia all over you!” Hanzo let out carelessly.

Hanzo’s sense of smell is more sensitive than average since he can transform into air. His sensitivity to gas is doubled, and he can determine anything he smells as long as it is within his knowledge.

“So, kid. Feel like talking?” Ignoring the situation Hanzo is in, he asked as if he is in no danger, confidently. This action made Dright narrow his eyes.

“He’s acting too confident despite the situation he’s in… Does he have a trick up his sleeve...? Just in case, I’m going to immobilize him further…” Dright thought as he opened a portal to his storage. A knife hilt appeared at the portal, and Dright pulled it out. The knife has an orange-colored blade.

“I’m going to paralyze him for now…”

The knife that Dright brought out has a paralysis effect. It is a Zed that anyone can use. It paralyzes anyone it wounds in an instant. Dright spun the knife on his hand and prepared to stab Hanzo’s shoulder.

Dright stabbed his knife, but similar to his first encounter with Hanzo, he felt like he stabbed through air. Dright clicked his tongue.

“Not going to talk, huh…” Hanzo said as the air around him starts to change. In an instant, Hanzo turned his whole body into gas, leaving his clothes as he breaks out of Dright’s grasp. In response, Dright used his portal once again to gain some distance.

Hanzo sighed, which echoed all over the room. Hanzo is currently invisible, but there are hints of red color scattered in the form of small particles representing his wounds.

“If you won’t answer, then I’ll have to make you…” As Hanzo let his words out, some of his body parts that transformed into gas surrounded Dright. Since Hanzo is invisible, Dright wasn’t able to perceive his attack. The red particles from Hanzo’s blood didn’t move.

Soon after, green particles appeared all around Dright, transforming into green clouds, surrounding him. Because it was sudden, Dright breathed in some of it before covering his mouth and nose. Dright was able to take in a small amount of the cloud, but it was enough to make him cough.

“What is this… poison?” Dright thought as he struggles to breathe. He soon felt weak, stumbling as he tries to stand back up. His vision is starting to get blurry. The poison was very potent as it already took effect.

“Now kid, talk if you want to live.” Hanzo's voice echoed once again around the room.

“Tsk… I have no choice but to retreat… at least I acquired some information…” Dright thought as he channels his strength to open an invisible portal to his storage by his palm. He did the action with as little movement as much as possible to avoid being detected by Hanzo.

Dright brought out a flash grenade from his storage and immediately threw it in the air as it exploded a bright flash of light. Dright gambled his chances, that even when Hanzo is in a gaseous state, he still has some of his senses left beside his sense of touch.

“Urk! My eyes!” Hanzo’s cry echoed all over the room. Dright took this as a chance to get away and immediately initiated his retreat with a portal.

Dright’s action proved that Hanzo still has some senses left even in a gaseous state. A moment later, Hanzo’s clothes floated as he returned to his original form, scratching his eyelids. At the same time, the green clouds dissipated. Hanzo clicked his tongue.

“Tsk… He got away… no use staying here anymore. Darn, that stings!” Hanzo complained as he scratched his eyelids very fast. A few seconds later, he finally regained his sense of sight. He then transformed once again into air and folded his clothes. He complained once again.

“Darn that kid, that injury he left freaking hurts! And I really should create clothes that blend with my blessing…” After Hanzo said these words, he broke a hole in the gigantic clock and went through it.

Meanwhile, at Royal Chaos Academy.

A short red-haired high school girl wearing a lab coat with a support course uniform underneath it can be seen sitting on a table. She is drinking coffee in a room that seems to be the infirmary. There are three beds inside to room aligned in a straight line. Then suddenly, she spitted the fluid she is drinking as something surprising appeared in front of her. A portal materialized on top of the bed nearest to her as Dright fell from it, breathing heavily as he landed atop of it.

“D-Dright?!”
