▪︎The Next Day▪︎

I woke up to see most of my belongings inside the unsealed box that was beside my bedroom door. I sat up and stretched. I looked outside and saw how beautiful it was outside.

'I wish I could spend this last day in Finland with Jiji....' I felt a frown appear on my face. I grew weary as I glanced around my almost empty room.

I looked at my bedside table and saw the box that had the pictures and the bracelet I put in yesterday. I sighed sadly and stood up, walking towards my door.

I opened my door and continued my way downstairs. I went into the bathroom and washed my face. When I went out I smelled something cooking from the kitchen.

'Is uncle cooking without me again?' I thought. Then something flashed in my head which made me quickly walk towards the kitchen.

[Note; Koma and his uncle will be speaking in english again from this point in the chapter]

"Good morning chap! Have a seat, I'm making us breakfast" he chirped. I shook my head nervously.

"Um.. let me help you uncle" I replied, immediately getting a chair, climbing to stand on it so I could make sure that the breakfast uncle is making would let us eat properly.

"Well if you insist..." he sighed.

After a while of helping uncle cook, we were finally seated at the table and eating breakfast I mostly fixed while uncle wasn't looking since he was a bit not too good at cooking.

"Thank you for helping me again with cooking, love. Honestly, you didn't really have to help, the breakfast would turn out the same even if you didn't help" he smiled.

"I'm not entirely sure about that uncle" I laughed nervously, holding my fork that had my breakfast.

"By the way, help me seal the boxes and bring them outside alright? The truck will be here soon to pick the boxes up. Make sure all your belongings are in the boxes"

"Okay" I replied half-heartedly. I really wanted to spend my last day in Finland with Ji-Rae, but I can't. She's in school right now and I don't want to make her cry. She might cry when I tell her that I'll be moving back to the states tomorrow.

I'm just thankful that she's at school today. If she wasn't, she would come here and ask me why I wasn't at the meadow and she would whine about how long she was waiting for me there.

I finished my plate and I stood up from my chair while uncle put the plates away in the sink. I went upstairs and continued to pack what was left in my room into the remaining boxes.

I'm gonna miss Finland.

♧Ji-Rae's P.O.V.

"Big brother?" I peeked in the kitchen.

"Yes?" I giggled when I heard all five of my big brothers answer at the same time. They were all in the kitchen doing their chores for the day. I already finished mine, which was help brother Seongjun tidy all the rooms and take out the trash.

"I was calling Joonsung, not you four" I replied and they went back to doing their tasks while Joonsung laughed.

"Alright, what is it Ji-Rae?" He turned his head from the sink to look at me.

"I'm going to the meadow. I wanted to let you know because you told me to tell you instead" I grinned.

"Again? But you just went there yesterday"

"Pleeease? I'll be super quick, I promise! I'll take just a second!" I pleaded.

"But it's already been one second! Oh look, you're here!" Joonsung laughed.

"Big brother, I'm serious! Please?" I luaghed at his silliness.

"Have you finished your tasks I asked you to do?"

"Yes"

"Okay, you can go. You said you'll take only a bit so I want you home right away, alright kultaseni? Take my phone this time, it's in the living room"

"I'll be back before you know it brother"

"Be careful" he smiled and ruffled my hair.

I went to the living room and took big brother Joonsung's phone before heading outside and to the meadow. I didn't waste time as I walked my way there.

I looked at the time and saw that it was 9:03 AM.

'WHAT? 9:03? Koma must have been waiting for hours now!' I thought and quickened my pace.

I finally reached the meadow but I didn't see Koma anywhere.

'He should be here. Why isn't he here? Maybe he's at his house'

I left the meadow and went to Koma's house. I knew his address because he told it to me when he was sick and couldn't come to school. I got his notes for him and I went to their house so I could give it to him.

I skipped along the side walk until I reached Koma's home. I walked up to the front door and knocked. A tall man opened the door and he looked surprised when he saw me. He smiled and spoke to me in english.

'He's talking to me in english!! I don't know how to speak in that language! What do I do?' I internally panicked. I decided that I might as well try. I might look like a fool but who cares.

"Why hello there, love. What brings you here?" He greeted.

"Good morning.. I come..see....friend" I stammered.

"Oh, I see. Come in, dear." He nodded and led me inside. I saw a lot of boxes in their living room. Why are there so many?

I saw Koma lifting one of the smaller boxes and putting it above the big ones.

"Lad, come here, your friend Ji-Rae came to see you" Koma's uncle called out to Koma. I saw Koma tense up and his head immediately snapped to our direction.

I smiled and waved at him, not speaking in english anymore because english is hard. He walked to our direction with a worried face.

"Koma! Why weren't you in the meadow?"

"I was uhm..busy. Why aren't you at school? Isn't it Monday today?" He replied with a nervous tone in his voice. Why is he so nervous all of a sudden?

Koma's uncle was just standing a few feet behind us, confused, because he couldn't understand us.

"What? No, idiot! Thta's tomorrow, today's sunday" I laughed.

"But I thought-"

"So why so many boxes?" I asked.

"What did she say?" Koma's uncle whispered to himself, and Koma heard.

"She's asking why there are so many boxes.." Koma replied to his uncle.

"Oh! Of course. We're mo—" Koma's uncle suddenly stopped when he looked at Koma. I saw him close his mouth and begin whistling.

"We're moving some boxes because uhh...we bought some new stuff and we didn't need the ones in the boxes anymore"

I stared at him. Why was he stammering? Whatever the reason is, I guess he's just surprised. I mean, I came over without him knowing so it's understandable if he's surprised.

"Oh, well you should've told me yesterday that you wouldn't be in the meadow today. I had to go out just to see you" I pouted.

"Sorry, I didn't know I would be busy" he smiled and scratched his head.

"Lo-" He was about to say something when the phone I was holding suddenly rang. I saw Seongjun's number on the phone. I answered it and put it on speaker.

"Hello?"

"Kultaseni, where are you? You said you wouldn't take long didn't you? Are you coming home now?" I heard big brother Joonsung's worried voice on the phone.

"Oh, yeah. Yes, I'm coming home now big brother. Don't worry"

"Alright, I'll be waiting for you" he replied and hung up.

"I have to go. Big brother called" I told Koma.

"Brother, call. Need leave" I said awkwardly to Koma's uncle. He nodded in understanding.

"Lead the poppet to the door will you, love. It was nice seeing you again Ji-Rae. Do be careful on your way home!" he bid me goodbye while Koma ran upstairs and came back with a small box.

"Promise me that you won't open this until you come back from school tomorrow?" He asked, handing it to me.

"Okay, what's this?"

"It's a gift from me. I won't need it anymore so you can have it" he smiled.

"I'll see you at school" I hugged him before leaving. I felt a tug on my hand before I collided with him in a tight hug.

I heard him whisper a quiet "I'll miss you... I'm so sorry" What is he talking about?

"What?"

"Don't forget me okay Jiji? Also don't be mad at me, please" I saw his eyes were glossed over.

"Of course I won't! What're you talking about?"

"Then, I guess I'll see you soon" he sighed.

"Bye Koma, I'll see you tomorrow"

And with that I went back home, carrying the gift he gave me.
