Chapter 26: Let me eat!

The next morning, as Diana was taking a stroll in the garden, a servant comes running towards her, “La-Lady Diana! There’s a problem! Sir Jonathan needs you urgently!”

“Where is he?”

“A-At the construction site.”

Hearing Jonathan’s whereabouts, Diana immediately departs and couldn’t believe what she saw as she arrived. Several workers were injured and a part of the construction was wrecked.

“What happened here?” Diana asked as she approached Jonathan who was distressed by the events.

“Diana… you’re here. I also don’t know but from what I’ve heard, one of the workers had an accident which caused a part of the construction to collapse. Fortunately, the injuries weren’t that bad but this will delay the business.”

“That’s true. How about on your side? How is the progress?”

“We’re almost done by the week. Aside from that, how are you going to fix this?”

“... I’ll do something about it. For now, be careful.”

“Sure…?”

Diana simply hoped that the accident wasn’t related to the tea party because if it was, she wasn’t going to let go.

“Anyway, I’ll give you a word when the shop is settled. Report to me the progress of the clothes and when you’re all finished.”

After having some discussion with Jonathan, she goes back to the manor and decided to have some lunch when suddenly Duke Erwin and Eric came along with her in the dining hall.

“... Can I have lunch by myself?” Diana asked with full of hate.

“I’ve heard that there were some casualties during the construction. I can lend you a help,” Duke Erwin offered.

“I appreciate the thought but I don’t want to since it wouldn’t be free.”

“Are you going to keep being cold towards your father?”

“It’s not wrong, isn’t it? That is what you’ve taught me over the years.”

“Diana, speak properly. Can’t you for once be good to father?” Eric annoyingly asked as he comfortably ate his food.

“Eric just because I’ve become lenient towards you for the past few weeks doesn’t mean I’ve forgiven you or father. I will do what I want to do so now I’ll excuse myself.”

They both were silent as they gazed at her, leaving the room.

“Father… Are we always going to be in awe whenever she leaves us?”

“-_-”

Shortly after, Diana found a peaceful place where she could eat not until several knights interrupted her, “Thank you very much, Lady Diana!!! We will serve you forever!!”

“... Huh?”

“We heard from Sir David that the lady was the one who’ve prepared all of the food and refreshments for our training!” one knight said with his loud voice that could even reach 100 meters away.

“O-Oh… I don’t remember doing that…”

“Milady! From today and onwards, we will do everything that you ask for!!! Just say the word!”

Suddenly, they all bend in one knee, pledging their loyalty to Diana.

What the hell are they exaggerating for?!!!

“MILADY!!”

“SHUT UP!!!! YOU’RE NOISY AND FREAKING LOUD!!!” Diana interrupted and shouted at the top of her lungs which made everyone silent.

“Y-yes…”

“First of all, get back to training and don’t disturb me while I’m having my lunch. Shoo,” Diana ordered menacingly and the knights slowly walked away from her with their heads drooped down.

“Finally… some quietness,” she mumbled.

As she was about to have her first bite, Eva suddenly appeared behind her, “Lady Diana, I’ve returned to report to you,” and this surprised her very much.

“E-Eva, please don’t sneakily come behind me… you’re gonna give me heart attacks. Anyway, the report?”

“... None, my lady…”

“...”

“...”

“Hm? Did you say something?” Diana asked with her dazzling smile and suppressed fist of anger.

“U-Umm… There was none because there were completely no traces left behind during the scene. Lady Lucifer has also been doing investigations but there also none to report.”

“... How could they perfectly erase their crimes? A ghost? Well, anyway, just keep in touch with them, maybe we’ll find something.”

“Yes, my lady.”

“Now, can I eat my lunch?”

“Huh? Please do…” Eva replied with a confused look on her face.

And as Diana was finally able to eat her lunch peacefully, someone pops out of nowhere in front of her and it was none other than, Darius.

“Diana. Phone.”

“... You PHONE ADDICT!!”
